Ken and Sandy's cabin is everything you could ask for in a getaway retreat. They do a great job of describing the amenities and were wonderfully easy to work with. The place was way more room than we needed as a couple, but the price was so reasonable we didn't hesitate, and we're already plotting a getaway with friends here!
Owner response:Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts. We enjoyed working with you and look forward to your future return. Ken & Sandy

My wife and I just spent a week at Tranquility at River’s Bend and enjoyed every minute of it. The cabin is SUPERB – the master suite was very comfortable with a great view in the early morning. The kitchen is very well appointed – we cooked at home every evening. We fell into a comfortable routine of building a fire in fireplace, then after dinner we’d go downstairs for some darts in the game room – then a sauna – finished off with a nice soak in the hot tub. I just do not think it could get much better. We travel a lot and have rented dozens of houses – and this was among the very best. Great view of the river, quite, comfortable – exactly what you look for in a relaxing mountain getaway! Also, the town is cute, lots of fun antique shops and such – several very good and friendly restaurants – we felt like regulars within just a few days. I think the highest praise I can give this cabin is that we are already thinking about when we can come back!!!
Owner response:Hi John & Sheila. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your time in Tranquility! Thank you for being such great guests, it was a pleasure working with you in planning your trip this time. Rafting in the Summer is a lot of fun and the leaves in the Fall are amazing should your plans to revisit include either or both of those timeframes. Ken & Sandy

The cabin was as advertised, beautiful! Seven members of our family spent our Thanksgiving in this lovely cabin. The property has spectacular views, loved the fireplace and fire pit. It was a perfect place to chill, kick back and share some quality time with each other. The only negative for us was the loft area vs. a real bedroom. Since there were 7 adults, one couple had to sleep in the loft. This area lacks privacy and made it difficult to sleep when others were up. If our group had children the space would have been perfect. Having said that, everyone truly had a great time. The countryside is very scenic, stores are conveniently located and the towns surrounding it are very quaint. The owners were most helpful and a pleasure to work with. The homes many amenities were enjoyed by all. If our travels ever find us back in that neck of the woods you can be sure this home would be at the top of our list.
Owner response:Thank you for your review! We also enjoyed working with you and are glad to hear you had such a great time in Tranquility. You are correct that lofts are open areas and different than the three private sleeping areas that Tranquility provides (which sleep 6). Other guests with more than 6 people who preferred having a closed room to sleep in have brought an aerobed to put in the sauna room which provides privacy. Though the site provides this info, your feedback will help us to point this out to future guests in case they missed it on the site. Thank you again!! Ken & Sandy

Tranquility At River's Bend was a very romantic and lovely place to spend our honeymoon. The house was just amazing just like the pictures and more. The house had so many amenities that we just didn't want to leave and we didn't leave very often. When we went out on the deck it was very quiet and peaceful. We could hear all the sounds of nature all around us. We could hear the sounds of the water rushing over the rocks in the river below us and all the birds singing. We could see lots of squirrels, geese flying over the river and turtles swimming in the river. Our favorite was the hummingbirds coming up to their feeders along the deck. The leaves were just starting to change color and everyday there was a big difference in their color. Ken & Sandy are just great to work with and answered all our questions. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us. Everything was just perfect and we had the best honeymoon we could of ever had!!! We hope to come back again soon. The only bad thing was that we just didn't want to leave and that it was very hard for us to do!! Thanks Again, Ken & Sandy

Got to spend some quality time ourselves at Tranquility and enjoyed every single second. The wild life as always did not fail to entertain... watched several deer cross the river near the rapids twice and saw so many geese, woodpeckers, chickadees, cardinals, bluejays, and other birds, including many hummingbirds... Was great stealing away to the hot tub in the mornings with those wonderful cool breezes and beautiful blue skies and the hint of fall colors appearing here and there... Update on the cabin... the bedrooms now have insulated, room-darkening curtains for those who like to sleep in. Was afraid they'd limit the fantastic views, but actually seem to enhance the ambience, so we're very happy with them. We also installed a hot tub insulation blanket that keeps the water at a great soaking temperature and allows faster heating to higher temps as well. Getting new down pillows for the couch, new kitchen linens and dishware rounded out some of the work we did while there. Funny how work at Tranquility never actually feels like work!! Getting ready to head back up soon to enjoy the unbelievable, gorgeous fall colors that transform the forest into an amazing blaze of colors...

What a wonderful home! We really enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation! We fished on the river almost every night which is something we do not have time to do at home. We caught two catfish and two bass and several blue gill. The only bad thing was all the steps, but at least we were getting our exercise too! We also really enjoyed all the amenties at the resort. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We plan to come back next year. Margaret Osborne and Tom Taylor

Wow! Tranquility is a perfect name for this place. The view is spectacular, and the setting is peaceful. The cabin is incredibly furnished with everything you need for a fun vacation or a weekend getaway. We also found Ken and Sandy to be very pleasant and easy to work with, and they patiently answered all our questions. I would, however, have to agree with the person who wrote an earlier review suggesting some type of blinds or drapes for the master suite. The view from there is incredible, but if you want to sleep in, the morning sun is not your friend. If, however, you are an early riser(I am not), I would expect you could see an awesome sunrise from the deck off the master suite. All in all, a great anniversary getaway for us!
Owner response:Thank you Lisa for your kind words. We're so happy your anniversary was spent in Tranquility and you experienced its magic!! BTW, the new drapes/blinds are on their way :) Ken & Sandy

You always wonder if the pictures really look like the place you are going and here they DO!!! The place is even more beautiful than the pictures! We didn't need have of the items we brought because so many things were included with the house. By far, the best rental I've never stayed in! I hope to go back when it's chillier so I can enjoy the fire pit and sounds of the River! Ken & Sandy are great to work with!!!

Tranquility at River's Bend is everything that was promised and more. We were drawn in by the wonderful pictures online and our knowledge of north Georgia but the reality was even better than we expected. The cabin was perfect for our 4 adults but we all agreed that we could fit our families in comfortably. Decorating was fun and comfortable; the cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We tried to use every amenity during the week we were there but didn't get to the sauna - we'll be back for that one. The location is amazing. The house is situated high on the side of a hill and truly on the river's bend which allowed us to watch the river "traffic" - geese, tubers, canoers and fishermen - and a very friendly, olympic swimmer of a dog. With 6 levels to sit and watch from - it was all the entertainment we needed in the mornings and evenings. During the day we tubed and rafted so it was great to come back to our perch. Sandy and Ken were very helpful hosts and we are all hoping to return.
Owner response:Thanks, Jill, for such a wonderful description of your time in Tranquility! The picture you painted is pretty much how we spend our time there, too. We truly enjoyed working with you while arranging your stay and look forward to connecting with you again in the future. (The sauna is an experience not to miss. :) Ken & Sandy

Thanks for sharing your home with us. We stayed over the 4th of July weekend and had the best time. The pictures of the property begin to give you a good feel for the place but still don't compare to actually being there in person. The view was gorgeous. The property was clean and welcoming. The owners have thought of everything including food for the wildlife. To awaken to feeling like you're in a treehouse with the birds singing and watching the squirrels come for breakfast was a true joy. Everything about the cabin was first rate. We grilled, spent time in the hot tub, played pool and darts, played games from the game room, spent time down by the river, took naps on the most comfortable beds, walked in the woods and watched a very up to date movie provided by the owners (one of many). We spent the morning of the 4th tubing the river and had so much fun. It is not a question of whether we will return, it is only a question of when.
Owner response:Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your stay. We really appreciate it and it was a pleasure working with you. If your travels permit... you really should see the fall leaves - they are breathtaking and it is so beautiful seeing them reflected in the river! Thanks again! Ken & Sandy

I was looking for a cabin to get away with the kids for a week and figured the mountains was a great place to relax. When I stumbled on Tranquility, I knew I had found the place. It had everything each of us were looking for. We had such a wonderful time, the cabin had everything we could possibly need. It was just like being at home! Another nice thing was that we were far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to restaurants and grocery stores. It was so relaxing sitting on the deck listening to the birds singing and the water rushing over the rocks in the river below. We will definately be looking forward to going back next year. We were sad when the week came to an end. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Owner response:Thanks for sharing, we enjoy hearing you had a great time! It sounds like you got the Tranquility bug!! We look forward to working with you again. Ken & Sandy

My family and I have stayed in several mountain homes/cabins over the last few years and this one, by far, out did the rest in every way imaginable. Not only was the home so nice, but it had so much to offer. The owners had the home stocked with some many things you always forget to pack but need when traveling (extra blankets, pillows, candles, matches, laundry detergent, soap, spices, movies, games, bug spray, & the list goes on). It was so relaxing to lay in the hot tub and listen to the river flow beneath in the evening, and to wake up and see the fog rise off the river first thing in the morning as the sun rose. It was so peaceful and everything you'd dream a mountain getaway would be. I can't wait to go back.

We rented Tranquility for a relaxing vacation and an escape from the Florida heat in the last week of summer. It was a great choice: the house is just as comfortable and fresh as described on the website, the view of the river and wildlife just as lovely. We took a lot of day trips out from Ellijay to hike in the Tallulah Gorge, Brasstown Bald, the Nantahala Forest and Cullasaja Gorge, as well as some great local waterfalls that we found in a book in the house. Tranquility is also a great base for shopping in Blue Ridge and trout fishing on the Toccoa. It was so nice to come back to that beautiful cabin and relax in the evenings with the hot tub, the pool table, the views from the decks, and the luxurious bedrooms. The house had everything we needed and more - highly recommended!
Owner response:Thank you so very much for taking the time to let others know about your experience while in Tranquility at River's Bend. We're very happy you had such an enjoyable stay (if time permits... you really should see it all in the fall as it's an amazing and beautiful transformation, for that matter -- so is the winter and spring!). Your words reminded us of how truly wonderful it is being both in and outside the cabin... and it made us want to hop on a plane and get there as fast as we can!!! Thanks again, Ken & Sandy

This year my sisters and I had a family reunion at Tranquility. It was a perfect place to get reaquinted and catch up on our lives. Also, there were so many places to to go off and be alone or meet in groups. Totally relaxing and comfortable. All of my sisters complimented my choice of a gathering place. Would reccomend to anyone for a beutiful relaximg place to visit. We all loved the heated salt-water indoor comunity pool, some of the more energetic used the workout equipment and did some kayacking. Great time!
Owner response:Thank you for letting us know you had a great time while in Tranquility... we're happy to hear you and your sisters had a very nice reunion. (The indoor fresh water pool uses a salt-water technique to clean and sanitize the pool instead of using chlorine. The result is the wonderful feeling you experienced -- much more pleasant than chlorinated water and a great feeling on the skin.) Thanks again for sharing your comments.

I traveled north to Tranquility in April 2008 and what a pleasant surprise! I had visited this location on one other occasion in 2007 and was surprised to see so many changes and upgrades. i didn't think it could get any better but the new parking pad, fire pit upgrades, and steps to the River were quite a welcome. I enjoyed the beautiful cabin and all the amenities you really do not have to leave to have a wonderful time: fireplace, hot tub, suana, and billiards/play room but we did venture into town for some sight seeing and hiking at the nearby Falls! i would recommend Tranquility to people and families of all ages!

I was looking for a nice vacation spot for a little R&R and to also spend quality time with my daughter. From the minute I arrived at the cabin I knew I had found just what I was looking for.The cabin was spotless and spacious with more amenities than you could ever want. The view overlooking the river was incredible from each of the 3 deck levels.Waking up to the fresh crisp mountain air at your bedroom door is enough to make me want to go back for more.Let alone the rest of the amazing sights that you can only get in the mountains of northern Georgia. There was more than enough to do in the area to keep us entertained for weeks. This vacation spot has plenty to do for any age group and any type of get away you are looking for.My 11 year old daughter will be talking about this trip for years to come.We will be going back again this summer for the white water rafting.I highly recommend this vacation spot.

Seeking Tranquility? My husband and I found it in this truly wonderful place of respite! Nestled in the woods on the river with views in all directions... the peace and tranquility we felt here was immediate. From the moment we entered the cabin, we were impressed with the quality and thoughtfulness that went into every detail. Packed full of amenities... the hardest part was trying to decide between the sauna, the hot tub, the porch swing, the many outdoor living spaces, the firepit, the river, the cozy seating places, well, you get the picture. It was delicious and delightful every step of the way. The nights in May were cool enough to leave the windows open and the sounds of the nearby rapids lulled us to sleep. It was fantastic! We were amazed at all the wild life… especially families of Canadian Geese that swam by most every day. Once, we watched a group of over 50 go by -- we gave up counting. There were babies and one loan Mallard Duck, who seemed to have become part of one family of about five geese. We also saw deer in the driveway, hummingbirds at the feeders along with cardinals, blue jays, and too many other beautiful creatures to mention. Though very difficult, we pulled ourselves away from the serenity of the cabin and ventured out into the "quaint old town of Ellijay", which continued our feelings of delight. We found fun little places and shops everywhere. We left there and drove a short distance to hike the gorgeous Amicalola Falls and called it a day… we really wanted to get back to Tranquility! We did venture other days and hiked nearby Fort Mountain for part of one afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous views on the drive to and from the mountain. We also took a day trip to Brasstown Bald (GA’s tallest mountain) and were amazed at the 360 degree view from the top. From there, we drove a little further to the alpine village of Helen, GA, with its “touch of Bavaria” and loved the red roofs and cobblestone streets - great food & shopping, too! Another excursion, only about a 10 minute drive away, was with our kayaks on Carters Lake. What an incredible lake it is!! We saw deer on the shoreline and countless varieties of birds, including red-tailed hawks. We learned that “our river” runs to the lake. We wanted to try kayaking from the cabin to the lake, but decided it was too much effort for this trip. Obviously, we had a great time!! We will definitely be reserving more Tranquility in the future… we want to see it in all the seasons and at some point, kayak that trip from the cabin to the lake (we just have to figure out how to get back).
Owner response:Thank you for taking the time to write such a great review. It is very much appreciated. The details of your experiences in Tranquility and its surrounding areas makes us want to hop in our car and get there as fast as we can! Ken & Sandy

Tranquility at River's Bend is a slice of heaven! It was truly an absolutely amazing experience! The accommodations and surroundings are breathtaking and surpass what is shown on the website! The cabin was immaculate and appointed like a five star hotel (the furniture, decor, kitchen and quality of the linens and mattresses is not only superb but incredibly tasteful). There is nothing that the owners haven't thought of--this is a home fit for a king (or queen!). We were greeted every morning with the sounds of the birds singing in the trees while the soft sounds of the river followed us throughout the day. Despite the plentiful nearby attractions, we were enthralled with the cabin and spent most of our time admiring the spectacular views and wildlife from the numerous decks, soaking in the generous hot tub and casting our lines into the gentle river. WORD OF ADVICE: Pack your clothes, leave your worries behind and get ready for an experience of a lifetime!
Owner response:A little late in responding, but we wanted to be sure to tell you again - thank you for such a nice review! We're delighted that you had a great time... wait till you see the leaves in the fall! Ken & Sandy

I had the pleasure and privilege to stay in this home in December 2006. When I drove up to the house, I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the house and the setting. The house was immaculate, the furnishings were beautiful and comfortable and the linens were plentiful and luxurious. I was able to enjoy the serenity of the location and relax playing pool, enjoying the hot tub and just sitting on the different decks to enjoy the scenery. It well worth the cost to stay in such a beautiful home and I will be staying again to enjoy the different seasons.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. It was everything you said it would be and much more. The view is amazing and so relaxing. You have done a great job with the details; it seems noting was left out or forgotten. Our entire family enjoyed everything from the bird feeders to the board games and we can not wait to return in warmer weather to use the tubes on the river. From the moment you walk in there is a very inviting and feeling of warmth. It was truly an enjoyable visit.

I have had the good fortune of being a guest at this lovely property twice and am looking forward to booking another trip there in the coming year. This home is everything described in the listing and more. The well-appointed kitchen, the luxurious linens and the quality furnishings are superior to other rentals. It's impossible to put into words or show in pictures the marvelous feeling one has while staying at this charming home. Although close to many activities, we found that our accommodations were so perfect that we did not care to leave. Thanks for opening your home to allow others to share in such a beautiful experience.

We feel in love with the place! It's so peaceful and beautiful! We didn't want to leave! We book our next vacation while we were still there! Kids loved it too! Finally a place we all agree on! We can't wait for our next vacation! We've told all our friends and family about it! Mr and Mrs. Edelson is so friendly and helpful! Thank you so much!
