Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Keywords: House
Constructed in 1995, this two story stand alone villa commands one of the best views in all of Princeville - golf course (the Makai Course Ocean #3 hole), Hanalei Bay and waterfall laden mountains in the distance - it has all three.
This 2 bedroom, 2 ½ bath fully furnished home is located on property contiguous with the elegant St. Regis Princeville Hotel. The comfortable two story floor plan features the living room, dining room, kitchen and a ½ bath on the upper level accompanied by a spacious covered lanai for dining and just relaxing. Built on a gentle hillside, each level is accessible from the outside. The lower level contains the master suite with it’s own bathroom as well as a guest room located adjacent to the third bathroom. There is an outdoor tropical shower located next to the entrance on the lower level. Step out of the master bedroom past the conveniently located hammock onto a broad expanse of lawn sloping to the golf course. Located on a point of land with Hanalei Bay in front and the Pacific Ocean but a stone’s throw in back, there are three beautiful beaches within close walking distance.
The master suite has a king size bed, walk-in closet, master bath, television and telephone. The guest bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed. There is a washer/dryer unit located on the lower level. On the upper level the kitchen is equipped such that (if the mood grabbed you!) one could prepare a Thanksgiving dinner. A television, DVD, and CD player complete the entertainment portion of the villa though you will likely find yourself being entertained by something other than electronics as you relax in your own "Villa in Paradise".

Villa in Paradise
Year Purchased: 1975
Why the Owner Chose Hanalei Bay Villas
We made return visits to Princeville every year for our anniversary and by 1974 decided it was time to buy our Piece of Paradise. With a multi-faceted view that includes golf course, Hanalei Bay and the waterfall laden mountains, we believe we have one of the best views in all of Princeville and the North Shore. Given that United Airlines once used the view from in front of our villa for full page national advertising for their service to Hawaii, we have one major entity who agrees with us!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We are located on a point with the Pacific Ocean behind us and Hanalei Bay in front of us. We are easy walking distance to two beaches. With the St. Regis Princeville hotel as a neighbor adjoining our property, guests can enjoy many of the amenities that come with a Five Star hotel while still enjoying the conveniences of one's own home (at a fraction of the cost). The Villa was TOTALLY REBUILT in 1995. FYI...we can assist in securing a rental car at a fraction of the price most visitors pay.
Owner's Map of Hanalei Bay Villas
We are both Southern California natives and like so many from our area, we discovered Hawaii and more specifically, Kauai, on our honeymoon. Neither of us had ever visited the islands and when we got to the North Shore of Kauai we agreed that this was what we both imagined Hawaii to be. Though we are big desert fans, we fell in love with the tropical paradise that is the North Shore of Kauai. Since that honeymoon in 1971 we have visited the island a minium of 150 times and pretty much know every inch of it.

My wife and I chose Kauai for it's many beaches, rugged back country, and diverse tropical beauty. We wanted to stay in a property that would feel like home away from home, and this Villa in Paradise was exactly that. The minute we stepped foot inside this beautiful home, we knew we had made the right choice. Beautiful views from the lanai, a fully equipped kitchen for making meals, a bright and open layout, and a comfortable and inviting place to fall asleep dreaming of the next day -- all made our stay more than enjoyable -- near perfection. After long and exciting days of hiking, exploring the island and laying on the beach, it was amazing to come home to such a restful and jaw dropping property. We would have gladly stayed forever and will surely return. Highly recommended. Thank you to Bruce and Marilynn for sharing your home with us.

My wife and I stayed in this vacation home in January of 2012. The home was as it was described by the owner. Having stayed in numerous vacation rentals around the world, the thing that impressed us most was the owner's desire to insure our complete satisfaction. While there, we encountered two minor household matters which required eventual, but not immediate attention. The owner had qualified technical trades in the next day ........again, a testament of their desire to please.

We had our two recent college grad kids with us for our first trip to Kauai, and we wanted to see as much of the island as we could in 10 days. We are also into cooking, so we wanted a place that was comfortable and well-equipped enough that we could cook most meals at home and avoid the mostly overpriced and often over-rated restaurants. This unit scored high on both counts - it served as a great base of operations, with plenty of room, a nice private lanai with a beautiful view, incredibly comfortable beds, and is well-located to points of interest on the north shore. The house is spotless and well-maintained. Maybe the Kauai climate is drier than elsewhere in the islands, because there is no mildew like I remember in Honolulu. Given the location and the amenities in the house, you'd be hard -pressed to find a better value. It is in a safe, quiet area, and the roosters are kept at enough distance so that their crowing is more charming than annoying. There is a Foodland nearby (mainlanders, brace yourselves for the prices), and there is a farmer's market nearly every day of the week somewhere on the island with great and relatively inexpensive produce (avocados as big as your head). If you don't want to cook, I can recommend Bar Acuda in Hanalei village, with good small-plates fare at less than extortionate if still high prices. Hanalei Dolphin restaurant is a local fixture, as reputedly the oldest restaurant in town, but I had the worst fish & chips of my life there. My wife's sushi wasn't nearly as bad. We were looking for an unpretentious beachfront fish place like you might find in Maine or on the Cape, but didn't find it this time. There were a couple of other places in Hanalei that we didn't get to - maybe next time. All in all, our experience was everything we needed for our first visit to Kauai. It is exactly as advertised - the only surprises are good ones.

My partner and I usually stay in hotels, but following our terrific experience at this lovely Villa, we'll certainly be planning further rental adventures - including a return visit here. With fabulous views, great beaches just minutes away, and all of the home comforts anyone could wish for (including Scrabble!), we highly recommend this lovely home.

My husband and I stayed here in September 2010 and it was the best Hanalei Bay Villa so far we've stayed in in terms of location. It was very well equipped and cozy. We plan on returning on an annual basis to this wonderful paradise. I would highly recommend this Villa for couples and there is plenty of room for a family. The deck/lanai was just delightful and baecause we are golfers, we really enjoyed watching others hit from the third tee each day. Fabulous place and very nice owners.

It was better than the photos can possibly describe. Great view, great location, and beautifully maintained. Thanks so much for letting us share your slice of paradise. The communication, and personal touches melted any fears we had about renting on an island we hadn't stayed before. Kalypso in Hanalei town had great calamari, and you have to get a burger at Bubba's or you'll regret it...
