Greetings from the Old Blooming Point Schoolhouse!
This delightful cottage is located at Blooming Point Road, Blooming Point, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It served as the schoolhouse at Blooming Point for many years until its closure in 1960. If you look closely, you can see the names of former students scratched into the original plank walls. In fact, several of the former students who attended the school, still live on Blooming Point Road.
A unique and historic property, the Old Blooming Point Schoolhouse has been immaculately renovated in recent years. Updates include a newer kitchen and bathroom, refrigerator, stove, shower and tub, and washer and dryer. Yet, the schoolhouse still retains its original and charming features - walls of planks and high, beamed ceilings to name a few.
The Old Blooming Point Schoolhouse is unique and cozy. It is our personal cottage, so it has all the comforts of home.
Our location is ideal. It is a private lot, but is directly on Route 218 - which provides easy access to shopping, sunbathing, swimming, and sight seeing.
It is just 1 1/2 miles from Blooming Point Beach, which means you can be on the beach and surrounded by grassy dunes in just a few moments. It is an easy bike ride or a picture perfect walk, if you prefer a leisurely stroll. If you have never seen the pristine and private beaches of Prince Edward Island, you are in for a treat!
We are: 20 minutes from the quaint and historic city of Charlottetown; 35 minutes from Cavendish, the home of L.M. Montgomery and Anne of Green Gables; 20 minutes from The Links at Crowbush Cove which is the prestigious golf course ranked in Top 50 as best conditioned in North America; a short, picturesque drive to an abundance of other golf courses found on this charming little island; and, so close to the beaches of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, that you can smell that fresh sea air!
The cottage is available during the months of June, July, August, and September. Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage and we ask that you not bring pets.

We were 4 women - sisters and cousins at the cottage for 10 days in early July 2011. The cottage was exactly as the pictures look!. Clean, quiet, comfortable and homey. The front room/porch became the quiet reading & snooze room. And the back deck and gazebo became the conversation areas. It is a short drive to the beach or a great ramble for the 'walkers'. We had a wonderful time and we would return in a heartbeat! The owners kept in good touch by email and we were very pleased with their attention to detail.

The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was as neat and clean as promised and met our needs perfectly. We especially enjoyed the sun room which was bright and airy. The proximity to the beach was a huge plus. The cottage is far enough for quiet relaxation, but close enough to Charlottetown and the main road (route 2) to make any commute comfortable. Simply ideal for the two of us. The perfect romantic getaway.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful. It is well equipped. The yard is nice and the screened in area would be nice. Unfortunately we experienced rain and were not able to use all the cottage had to offer. It is extremely clean. The owners are great. They responded to our inquiry promptly and gave excellent service. Everything is what we expected. I am not sure why anyone would ever stay in a hotel or an area where there are several of the same cottages. The drive to the cottage is beautiful and it is very easy to find.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
