We were so surprized after reviewing the pictures and reviews for this house. The house was filthy. My dad actually had to clean some spots on the carpet in the bedroom when we arrived. The carpets, walls and furniture were all dirty. We have rented houses in Tahoe for 5 years in a row and this was really a disappointment. The layout of the home was not accurately reflected in the photos. There are stairs going up to the house and stairs going down to the garage. It was hot in the house and there was no air conditioning. The yard pictured in the website is basically inaccessable. You need to walk around the house and there are no steps or side doors to the back. Also the kitchen was not equipped. We had to buy a can opener, whisk, and cheese grater. We also had to buy a new propane tank for the BBQ. I would never recommend this property to anyone.
Owner response:We are so sorry to see this review, we strive to make sure that every renter has a comfotable and enjoyable stay with us. We pride ourselves on customer service and many of the items the renter discusses (missing kitchen items, low propane, spots on carpet) could have been resolved within hours if we would have been contacted to help. We are also happy to explain in detail any of the physical aspects of the cabin (backyard accessibility, stairs) which may be an issue with the rental party if asked. The cabin is three stories, so there are stairs to reach the main floor as well as stairs to reach the garage. The backyard is easily accessible from the front yard through a gate at the side of the house. Lastly, the cabin does not have air conditioning, but even in the summer months, the temperatures drop to 30's and 40's at night, so the cabin is easily cooled off by opening windows, as are virtually all cabins in North Lake Tahoe. Again, we always want our guests to enjoy their stay and will go above and beyond to ensure that any issues that may arise are fixed immediately.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the four days we spent in this roomy, comfortable cottage. All of us could stretch out and feel comfortable. It is well located, and it is an easy drive from restaurants, markets, and other businesses a traveler might choose to patronize. It's also a pretty easy drive from Reno, where we arrived and departed by plane. We heartily recommend it to anyone planning a Lake Tahoe area vacation.

Thanks Shondra for sharing your Tahoe home with us. The location couldn't have been better for the beach (Speedboat), casinos (Crystal Bay/Biltmore), and other outdoor activities. Very comfortable and clean.

Thank you Shondra for letting us stay at your beautiful home. It is everything and more than the pictures describe. The house is so warm and inviting, and the open floor plan makes for a great entertaining space. Everyone that stayed here commented on the charm and cleanliness of the house. Just a 15-20 min drive to Squaw Valley and 10 mins to Northstar! Will definitely consider this place again next time we go up to N. Tahoe. Thank you! Melissa
