We have been using VRBO since 2005 and have had tremendous success with rentals all over the U.S., Canada and Italy. We had to make last minute travel plans and dealt with some real wieners who were obviously trying to compensate for a slow rental season. We found the Up and Away upstairs unit, and were pleased with the price and the amenities. From Phoenix to Long Beach is a nice 5 hour drive and the weather was amazing! Mild and windy. Muriel couldn't have been more accommodating and the unit was exactly as described - actually better. The beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked and laundry detergent, dryer sheets and enough quarters for a first load were generously provided. Beach toys, hammock, herb garden, safe location, comfort and convenience... it's all here. The kids loved the waves at Huntington Beach and my 12-year old daughter wants all of us to move to CA. Found a great coffee shop within walking distance on 4th Street east of Cherry - Portfolio Cafe. We love this unit and hope to return again. Thank you, Muriel, for your thoughtfulness and sharing your rental with us!

Had a 8 day stay in this condo in mid September 2010. We all had a great time. The Condo was exactly as the described on the website. The staff were fantastic helping us out at all times during the stay. the condo was fully equipped and right on the beach. we even got to walk along the beach each evening with Dolphins and Seals playing just metres off the shoreline. Perfect location for 2 adults and 2 kids wanting to explore LA and all the theme parks. The little xtras like the BBQ, hammock and beach chairs etc made the stay thoroughly enjoyable, we will recommend this place to all our friends in Australia.

We stayed at this rental for 3 weeks in June 2010. The building is clean, quiet and well located. Muriel was wonderfull when we arrived and responded quickly to any thing that arose. They even did a little shopping for us so we wouldn't have to when we first arrived!! I will be happy to stay here again and recommend it to any one with business or pleasure travel in their future. The local bus routes are very convienent.

The beachside location and the view of the beach and ocean was excellent. The property is very well-maintained, clean, and fully outfitted with all of the amenities of a home. The staff was also very courteous and professional. It is walking distance from Long Beach Shoreline Village and a short cab ride to Belmont Shore.

The staff at Beachside Retreat was so friendly, caring and accommodating. They helped us with details about the area and met us at the garage for a personal tour of the property. The best part was the grocery service. It was so nice to arrive and have our choices in groceries waiting for us. Thank you for everything.
