The Sand Dollar will delight you the moment you arrive. This captivating one-bedroom, one bath with beautiful wood floors is styled in casual island elegance and is in a secluded location in the heart of Gulfport's Art/Beach district. Just one and a half blocks from Williams Pier and sunny Gulfport Beach, this generously landscaped and lit property is private and quiet, yet ideally located in the heart of it all. Come watch the dolphins play, or the egrets and herons fish. Listen to the call of seagulls or the wild green parrots that frequent the neighborhood.

High ceilings and fourteen windows give this generously proportioned second-floor apartment a very spacious feel. Beautiful double French doors separate the living room and bedroom. The airy, updated bath has a generous shower. Large, walk-in closet in the bedroom. Movies and books are yours to enjoy during your stay. Microwave, coffee pot, blender, mixer and all kitchen, bath and bed linens provided.

Creamy whites in the kitchen and bath compliment the tropical Bamboo Stalk green covering the living and bedroom walls. Wicker and rattan furnishings create lush, tropical beach surroundings.

Although the apartment is on the second floor, the space below is not occupied. Stairs may not be suitable for very small children.

Located just a short 2 blocks away are a variety of restaurants and shops, one of which even has the local post office inside! Gulfport's library is but a few blocks away and if you fell like shopping you can take the City bus service to Tyrone Mall. It stops just two blocks from The Sand Dollar. Take the Gulfport/St Pete Beach Connector Trolley for access to all the Gulf Beaches. Or try your hand (or feet!) at salsa or ballroom dancing at the Gulfport Casino. And still another attraction is Hickman's Theatre, with live plays. Regardless of the time of year you come to visit, you'll find something fun and exciting to do.

  • We were very pleased with the apartment. Very clean, beautifully decorated with wood floors. Lots of closet space, comfortable bed, and a well-equipped kitchen. The apartment is two blocks from an interesting artsy area of Gulfport, FL. We enjoyed the many eating establishments, bars with good music, and little shops. We highly recommend this rental.

  • We travel alot, and rent quite often apartments because we just love to feel like we live there, and the way the apartment is decorated, you can easily feel like its your own house. It is located in the old Gulfport artstic/bohemian neighborhood. The kitchen was very well equiped, so for cooking lovers, you'll find everything you need! The heating/AC system kept the house's temperature at the same degree (very efficient). The house was pretty spacious and we slept very well in the King size bed! One of our biggest fear in travelling in Florida, are the cockroaches, or as they call them, Palmetto bugs. To our wonderful surprise....we haven't found any! The backyard is huge and pretty, and you can park one or 2 cars in there!

  • We recently had the pleasure of staying at the "Sand Dollar" during the last week in July. It was everything we could have asked for and more! For such a reasonable price we were offered not only a beautiful house, but wonderful hospitality by the owner, who did everything to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. We certainly would reccommend booking a visit to the Sand Dollar, as we hope to return in the future!
