Our home sits in the woods on a cliff, overlooking Connecticut's deepest lake. A steep path leads to a boat house where there are canoes and a sunfish. There is a private beach with dock and stone fireplace.
In every room of the house, windows take advantage of this setting. The main floor has an open living room (piano, fireplace, and couches) and dining room; and a country kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, two-oven stove, cappuccino machine, Cuisinart, etc. Through the kitchen pantry there is a large screened porch where we prefer to eat by candlelight in the summertime.
On the second floor there are two bedrooms, both with views of the lake (one with queen bed; the other with twin beds and walk-in closet), two bathrooms (one shower; one tub/shower), and an office (TV, high-speed internet, fax, printer-copier) with view of the lake, fireplace, and pull-out double couch. There is a windowed walk-through closet between the office and the master bedroom. |
