Perfect vacation

My family and I spend the week of 8/7/11 at this home and couldn't have been more pleased! This is a perfect house for a family of 4. The location is so quiet and beautiful. The house is spotless, modernized and very well equipped. We just loved it and can't wait to go back! The screened in porch is so relaxing. You won't be disappointed with this home! Owners are also great to work with.

Lovely Home

Chincoteague is a favorite vacation destination for our family. This is by far the nicest home we have stayed at on the island. The location was especially nice. We rented a kayak for the week and loved being able to launch it from the dock right outside the home. The screened porch in back was WONDERFUL!! When not going out to restaurant for dinner, we would eat our meals out there. Having a cup of coffee in the early morning on the porch was so relaxing. The island is small enough to bike anywhere, as we did for breakfasts. The beach on Assateague is clean and beautiful. We highly recommend this house and Chincoteague is an excellent family vacation destination. WHIMS was wonderful!!!

Perfect family vacation

Guest: Family with Kids (Philadelphia, PA)
Date of Stay: 06/19/11 Review Submitted: 07/20/11

My wife, I and our two children (ages 4 and 2) went to Chincoteague for the first time. I was so happy we stayed at WHIMS. When we walked in the front door we were almost giddy. It was perfectly clean, nicely air-conditioned, great kitchen and laundry as you walk in, big living room with cozy seating, and the bedrooms were great. The master bedroom was large and had a spacious sink area and bathroom/shower area. The kids room was great and they even have an office with a pull out bed (from the couch). I even used the internet. We ate all our meals in the back porch that was screened in with a nice view. And the place was close to everything we wanted to do (beach, museum, fishing, pony rides) or course the island is small anyway so you're never far from where you want to go. Our kids like "Mr Whippie's" ice cream...I know, I know, there are more authentic ice cream spots, but what are you going to do.

We loved so much this house that we rented it again this year for a week. This was the only bad thing about our vacation, it was too short. Hope will do it again next year!

Short break

We, three adults, spent three days here in mid May. The accommodation was exactly as described in the ad. Very comfortable and well equipped. The situation in a quiet area on a canal was very attractive. I would recommend this property. We visited Assateague where the visitors center is excellent and of course the wildlife is interesting. We didn't do much walking as it was very windy. We toured Chincoteague by car and discovered a nice little park with a children's play area. As it was out of season many of the small stores were not open. We only ate out once and bought food at the small supermarket where prices were comparable to where I live. We all enjoyed this short vacation.

Very comfortable cottage

We stayed one week in mid August and had a very good time. The cottage is well and tastefully furnished in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful view down a canal. The best feature is the large screened porch. We had all our meals on the porch and loved it.

The week after the week of July 4

Guest: Liakasboss (Chestertown, MD)
Date of Stay: 07/10/10 Review Submitted: 08/05/10

The house is well appointed, clean and spacious. While we were there the weather was hot and humid, so the central A/C was much appreciated. The large LDC TV and the Wi-Fi - though a bit slow - were welcome features for the three of us, including a teenager, who are used to such amenities. The house is very well equipped, with no omissions of cooking items, etc. and easy to move into and live in. We brought bikes and cycled frequently, in spite of the heat. It's an easy bike to the bakery, the drug store, the ice cream shop - The Creamery: Mmmmm and most of 'downtown' Chincoteague. It's a bit longer to the beach - and we didn't attempt that. And the big screened porch was good to have. All things considered, a good place to stay for four.

After some re-accommodation with our old home, I decided it was about time to thank you for letting us enjoy your wonderful house for our two weeks vacation. So far, after a lot of vacationing in USA and abroad, we decided your house is on the very top of the list. The best ever. We left it as we found it, clean and in one piece. Again, thanks and maybe we'll do it again next year! Best regards, Irene and Val

My family stayed at your wonderful house for two weeks in July and had a terrific time! The house was everything that we hoped for--well located, immaculate, and well-equipped. Of course, the screened porch was great. We loved Chicoteague and Assasateague and hope to visit again soon! Mike

My husband and I and some friends spent a weekend in your home in mid-June. It really was all that we could've asked for. It was quiet, the screened porch was wonderful, it was well equipped. We brought our kayaks and were able to relax and enjoy. We will definitely come back. Thank you for your attention to detail.

My party had a great time at your home! It is very nicely furnished, well equipped and has many extras that you don't usually see. I can truly tell that it is your own home. We especially enjoyed hanging out on your screened in porch, it was a great place to kick back and have a few drinks! We all loved finding the interesting pieces of art around the house as well.

Thanks for allowing us to spend a week in your beautiful home on Chincoteague. Everything was clean and well kept. We particularly enjoyed the screened in porch! We caught plenty of crabs right out back in the canal and the well supplied kitchen allowed us to prepare meals when we decided to eat in. In addition, thanks for all of your recommendations on dining, we enjoyed them all, especially Ray's Shanty. Hope to be back in the future. Jim and Susann Columbus, Ohio

Our family spent a long weekend in November in Chincoteague. This house provided a wonderful place to relax and spend quality time together as a family. We had breakfast each morning at our favorite place – your screen-in porch. The short drive to the beach, the lighthouse, and restaurants was ideal. The kitchen was very well-equipped. We look forward to staying here again, maybe at a different time of the year, although off-season was very nice.

Chincoteague is a special place for us nature lovers, and this home is the perfect spot to stay. Bob and Lorraine's artistic decorating skills and the canal front property make the place a delight. We enjoyed some of our all-time the best kayaking, and it was so easy to just walk out and board on the floating dock. No hotel, and probably few homes, could fill this bill as we enjoyed your fantastic decorating, relaxing on comfortable furniture and bed, and morning coffee out on the screened-in porch. It’s new, and it’s clean, clean, clean. Thanks for helping us escape the complications of life - your Real Simple magazines (that we enjoyed leafing through) say it all. Now it’s back to real life, until we can arrange another visit this fantastic vacation destination.

We greatly enjoyed our stay! The house was beautiful and we felt right at home. It was very convenient to get downtown, yet secluded enough to avoid the noise of 40,000 tourists descending on the island for Pony Penning Day. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a getaway! We would definitely stay here again!
