    We had a truly amazing vacation at Casita Romantica. It was everything we were looking for; hope to come back again next year! Views were incredible. Loved the privacy and coziness. The caretaker was great and attended to all the details.

    We found Casita Romantica a lovely place for self-catering - a well-equipped kitchen, and we made good use of the gas bbq, too. Sitting outside on the patio for meals was a real highlight with a constantly changing view of skies and clouds, with shadows over the mountains.

    We really enjoyed our stay. The house was sweet, warm and cozy, Skiing in Taos was wonderful and it was so nice coming back to a home with a hot tub! The view of the mountains was incredible during the day, with a bright moon at night. We loved the pizza at The Pizza Out Back - sooo good! We would love to come back in the future. Thank you!

    First, the positives. The property manager was helpful and friendly and the house was clean and well maintained. However, we were generally disappointed with the location and a few of the amenities of the property (see below) given the price. 1) The Casa is just off the highway and is therefore louder than we expected. It isn’t as scenic given the surrounding houses and location by the highway as we were lead to believe by the posting. Maybe we should have done more research, but it wasn’t what we thought. 2) A couple of curtains and an AC unit or fans would go a long way for comfort in the spring summer when it is hot in Taos. 3) The required cleaning before checking out (at 10 am), while not difficult, isn't ideal or what you expect on a romantic getaway, especially given the price of the house. So overall, not a bad Casa, but given the location, price, and items above, we will not be returning to this property.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners.

    Owner response: What an interesting review. We use the services of a booking company. Unfortunately, it sounds as if our property was misrepresented in regard to location. Obviously, there is nothing we can do about the location or neighborhood. As for amenities within our control . . . To the best of our knowledge, every window in the house has blinds. In addition, every bedroom has a fan. And required cleaning? Required by whom? To our knowledge, there is *no* required cleaning. These items will be addressed. Since we are remote owners, sure appreciate the candor.

    This place exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect. Quiet,secluded, and very charming. Everything was very clean. We did a lot of cooking at the house. Which worked out great, because the place was very well stocked. Sat by the fireplace at night, followed up with some time in the hot tub. What a relaxing, charming, casita. The view of the mountains was fantastic as well. We will definitely return to this place..!

    Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    We have stayed at Casa Romantica several times and do love the casa! We do, however, have to agree with one review stating that the necessary cleaning at the end of our stay takes a bit of time away from our stay. I believe the cleaning that they are referring to is the sheet within the information on table that asks that all linens be washed, dishes washed and put away, etc. If this is not one of your requirements you might want to check into where the "cleaning required before leaving" sheet originated. Again, we still feel that this is a peaceful, relaxing getaway and will stay here again, but please consider the cleaning requirements required when paying for a rental such as this. Thank you.

    Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

    We scheduled our second visit to Casita Romantica for Christmas and New Year. We wanted to escape the traditional Holiday stress and Casita Romantica was just the right place to do so. We "cuddled-up" and relaxed, visited the Taos Pueblo for the Holiday ceremonies, ate some great meals in the local restaurants, but mostly enjoyed some quiet time together. The views and privacy at the Casita are perfect for a couple looking to spend some quality time away from the stresses of everyday life.

    From guests: Staying at Casita Romantica felt like having our own home at the foot of a mountain with breath-taking sunrises and sunsets, along with an amazing star-filled evening sky.     We stayed at the Casita Romantica the first Fall weekend of 2006. Snow had already fallen on the mountain and the air was crisp. The Casita was so warm and inviting we actually had a difficult time leaving it to explore northern NM! We enjoyed all of our meals (except one) at the Casita. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils an amateur or gourmet cook needs. The bedroom, bath and living area are full of charm and enchanting New Mexican style. The views are amazing. And the hot tub - what a treat! Try it after dark to see millions of starts without any distracting lights. Use it again in the morning to see the sun come up over the mountain. Anyone staying at the Casita Romantica is sure to have a wonderful New Mexican experience.

    The perfect getaway for staying in Taos. Pleasantly surprised with the accomodations and area of the casita. Close to all kinds of activities in Taos and surrounding area. The home was very clean, well stocked and had spectacular views. Makes you just want to sit back and take it in for hours. So glad we made this our home away while in Taos.
