Wow, what a view is all I could say when I first walked in this Condominium! This being a corner unit, gives us incredible views of the Ten-Mile Range to the south and Buffalo Mountain to the west. Lots of windows and a vaulted ceiling makes you feel like you are in a tree house.

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2006

Hello,
I bought this place because the view was incredible! Of course, it is quite convenient to many different ski resorts, here in Summit County. I try to get 40 to 60 days on the snow, riding my alpine snowboards. Last year, was a record 67 days!!! I also have a little artistic hobby, making glass beads! You can see some of my work by googling bagznbeadz. In between snowboarding and bead making, I work a regular job at American Airlines helping people fix airplanes. I have to do something to pay for all my hobbies!! I hope you have a truely great time at my second home. My condo is a special place!

Why the Owner Chose Watch Hill

The view is quite incredible!!

Good value, great view, well supplied

This condo is near the summit of the main road and has a great view of the surrounding mountains. It's well maintained and was very comfortable for our family of 4, although note that the two beds (plus a trundle) in the loft are more suited for people under 6 feet tall. In addition to the queen(?) bed in the master and the double in the 2nd bedroom, there's a foldout sofa in the living room. The condo should be OK for those over 55, with two bedrooms plus the sofabed on the main floor. Not handicapped accessible due to the outside stairs down and up to the front door. Excellent local FREE shuttle bus service right on the main road to many points around the condos, into Silverthorne and I believe Dillon also. The kitchen has a good supply of cookware in very good condition, and there's plenty of dishes, flatwrare, glasses, mugs, etc. Stove, oven, and mircowave all work well. We bought groceries in Dillon (about 5 minutes away) and made most of our meals during the week. If you plan to do the same, you may want to bring your favorite spices etc. There's a Target in Silverthorne, City Market (Kroger affiliate) in Dillon, Safeway and Wal-Mart in Frisco (about 5 minutes away). City Market and Safeway are both good sized stores and not overpriced. There are several hiking trails in the immediate area, literally just minutes away, and most are easy hikes. There's a U.S. Forest Service office in Silverthorne for more info on hiking, camping, etc. This is a pretty good location for sightseers. Breckenridge is about 15-20 minutes away and was surprisingly affordable for food, activities, and souvenirs. Frisco is 5 minutes away. It has a nice main street with lots of shops and restaurants. Vail is not far down the road. Try Blue River Anglers for beginner's lessons in fly fishing or half day and longer trips for experienced fly fisherman. Lots of whitewater rafting shops. We used Arkansas Valley Adventures (AVA) for a 2 hour trip on Clear Creek just outside Idaho Springs. Reasonably priced, and trips for all skill levels, including beginners. Many mine tours within short drives. Country Boy mine was disappointing. If you go for one, try to get some recommendations. Jen, the condo owner, was very easy to work with and responded promptly to our inquiries. All in all a great experience.

Thanks so much for letting us stay at your condo. There was 9 of us total and being here in Colorado for Christmas was WONDERFUL! The adults skiid and all of us teenagers snowboarded at Winter Park one day and Keystone for three days. It was my first time to snowboard and I LOVED it. :) It snowed 8 inches our second night here. We're from Missouri and Texas so, thats a ton of snow!!! I can't wait to com back! Thanks again. :) S - Grapevine, TX.

Great Spring rental -- Going to try Summer

We had a great stay at this condo. The decor was very nice and everything was very clean. The view was nothing less than AWESOME. There were no buildings or anything else to obstruct the view of the mountains. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils and dishes. I may even donate a crockpot for the next visit! There were several games to play, a good selection of DVDs to watch, and also CDs to listen to. There were plenty of towels and linens for the beds. We never felt cold with the multiple thermostats in the different rooms. It was a great suprise to find that this unit was actually level with the parking! It is on the top floor, but you only have to carry your bags up about six steps. I was expecting some flights of stairs, but you actually have to go down to the lower levels or a few steps up this level. From the back deck, you are probably about 20 feet off the ground and view is Great! There were alot of maps on hiking in the different areas nearby and I also read about some less known trails that were written down in the guestbook. I am hoping to try some of them out this Summer as my boys have never been in the Colorado mountains during the Summer. By the way, my brother was able to join us on this trip and he said that the Colorado mountains and the ski slopes are far superior to the ones that he goes to in California. He also mentioned that the locals were very friendly and full of conversation. Must be a singles thing, as I didn't get any dates out of this trip. Maybe my wife on my side had a little to do with that -- no complaints on my part. In short, I would highly recommend this rental if it is close to where you want to explore. It is very close to I-70 and shopping stores, shuttles. I also expect this place to get better and better as time goes on. I have a feeling that people that rent this place feel so much at home, they wish to add a little something to make it better for the next person. There is also a small bulletin board to post photos. I couldn't take advantage of that with our digital camera and no printer, but I could see this being lots of fun. If you get a chance to go into Denver, I would highly suggest Casa Bonita's for an evening Mexican meal. Most of my family have never been there before and it was a great hit. The atmosphere is amazing and they have live entertainment such as cliff divers. An all-you-can-eat dinner is around $11.50. I have about maxed out - gotta go! --- Brent

Jen, You have a great condo here with fantastic mountain views. Enjoyed the cog ride up Pikes Peak.. All the car trips were great, especially through the Rockies National Park! With the view of all the animals! The trail trip were great, too. Many thanks. Dad

Dear Jen, Thanks so much for letting us stay at your condo. It is a very special place for family and friends. We enjoyed ice skating at Keystone, tubing at Copper, skiing at Keystone, and snowmobiling near Leadville. We hope to come back and stay here again.
