The home is exactly as it's images and description say. The home is very clean and well maintained with a home away from home feel. Don't miss hanging out in the backyard, it is lovely. Every amenity you would need is provided. The home is 2 blocks from the beach, grocery store or restaurants. Quick and easy access to everything fun to do or see around San Diego. This is one of the top homes we've rented and I highly recommend staying here. Thank you Jan, we had a fabulous time!

This home was perfect for our getaway with two young children (3 and 1) in tow. The location was perfect - could easily walk to Mission Bay, Mission Beach, the grocery store, some restaurants and coffee shops which is so much nicer than having to drive. Mission Bay and Mission Beach are both unique and it was nice to be close to them both! The house had everything you could think of (except for a blow dryer) and was very clean. There were sand toys, a new/clean playpen and a booster seat which came in very handy. The back-yard was also nice and big to run around in. We will definitely want to stay here if we come back to San Diego! It was also extremely close to SeaWorld and the I-5 which got you everywhere - downtown, shopping, Carlsbad, etc. Thanks Jan for having such a wonderful home!

This charming home was the perfect spot for our family vacation. Close to everything no matter what you are interested in. Want to dine near the ocean? The restaurants are just a few blocks away. Love the beach? Two blocks away. Want to ride a bike around the bay? Two blocks away. Need groceries? (I think you see the pattern here). Everything is well decorated and supplies are galore for cooking, cleaning and recreation. We loved the huge yard in the back, the fire pit, the bikes in the garage and the croquet set. The next time we return to San Diego, we will have no hestitation staying here again and would gladly recommend to anyone. Thanks Jan for your hospitality and wonderful gem near the beach and bay!

Great Family Vacation, Great Location, Beautiful Home

Our vacation was great from beginning to end. We stayed at Jan's (owner) home for one week with our 2 kids (ages 2 & 4). The home was very nice and comfortable. Bedrooms - Comfortable beds, extra pillows and blankets were in the closet (I'm always cold), night lights were in each room (great for kids), nice extra touches like the floral decor, plenty of hangers in the closets, lots of drawer space. Bathroom - Lots of cabinet space, stocked with plenty of plush towels, tissue paper, etc. Kitchen - Everything you need from coffee maker to baking pans. Living Room - Lots of comfortable seating, DVD player with movies, satellite TV, etc. Outdoor living - Huge gated backyard, beautifully landscaped, garage filled with beach chairs, bikes, and sand toys. My kids loved the outdoor shower and asked to shower out there even on the days we weren't at the beach. Location! Location! Location! This house is 2 blocks from the ocean and 2 blocks from the bay. The ocean side and the bay side are like night and day. The bay is very quiet and the water is calm. The ocean side is very lively/active and you can hear the waves crashing. Anything and everything is in walking distance. We went to Seaworld, Old Town, Downtown, and La Jolla which were all within a 10-15 minute drive. We also went to Legoland which was about a 30 minute drive. Lastly, one deciding factor why we picked this house from all others was the owner, Jan. She was so pleasant to work with. Communication was great - Jan replied to my emails not only within the same day but usually within the hour. The rental of this house was so easy and flawless. Thank you!

We have enjoyed this home twice in 2010 with our son, his wife, & 2 young grandsons. The owner takes great pride in both home & yard. Beach, bay, grocery, shops & library are all walking distance. Sea World is a short drive & was enjoyed by all 3 generations. We felt very secure in the well-kept quiet neighborhood. The garage for mini-van was a real bonus as were the bikes for the scenic paths. We felt the house was truly our "Home" for the week - clean, well-equipped with spacious, lovely back yard for the kids. We would recommend this home & location for a family vacation.

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing.

We stayed at this house with our two young children. It was perfect. The location is great. The house is very convenient with its large yard, toys for children, garage and updated decor. The house is very clean and meticulously kept up. I would recommend this rental for anyone. It's much better than staying in a hotel!

We stayed here with our 3 sons in April 2009. Jan was wonderful to work with and the home was just as described!The home is close to the beach and bay, has a beautiful backyard, and garage for parking. There are places to eat within walking distance and the grocery store was close too! We loved this place and would not hesitate to come back!

This bungalow was the perfect get-away for our young family. We could walk to everything-beach, bay, grocery store, restaurants. The owner was wonderful to work with, and the house had all the amenities we have in our own homes. This was perfect! We would stay here again in a minute!

This is a perfect vacation house, and our family loved staying there. The location is ideal, two blocks from the ocean, and also next to Sail Bay. Both Mission Beach and Pacific Beach are easily accessible from it, and it is easy to walk or bike anywhere in these locations. Even with its convenient location, the house and neighborhood are surprisingly quiet. This is probably due to the location on a non-through-street, which does not get the amount of traffic that other nearby streets do. The house itself is immaculate. It is beautifully furnished, and very comfortable. It has a fully equipped kitchen, and our family spent many pleasant mornings eating breakfast there before starting a big day. We also loved the large, enclosed back yard, where we ran around with our two year old son. The back patio is a great place to spend time outdoors as well. It is great also to have such a large garage to park in, especially in this neighborhood where street parking is hard to come by. Of course, the laundry room came in handy as well during our stay. Jan provides a great assortment of luxury items for enjoying the beach. The house comes with bikes and beach toys, and the outdoor shower is perfect for getting sand off after spending time at the beach. For a family like ours with a young child, there are also items like a booster seat and high chair. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. We were excited when we went in and saw how nice it was, and our opinion only increased as the week went by and we settled in. We would definitely love to stay there again.

I rented this house for five people: my daughter, her husband, their 2 1/2 yr old twins, and a cousin. For all of us, the accomodations were a perfect fit. The large, enclosed yard was a godsend for the toddlers: safe, plenty of grass to romp on, easy to watch from the kitchen window. The house itself easily and comfortably housed everyone. Everything was carefully and thoughtfully available and accessible, so that many of those little items you need for a vacation were right there. Of particular help was the garage (being just 1 1/2 blocks from the ocean meant that at times there was no street parking available for blocks around). Lastly, the location is excellent: within walking distance of the ocean and the bay; within 5 - 6 blocks a great park right on the bay for little kids; far enough away from the mainstreets to be quiet but close enough to make shopping easy. Lastly the house itself is tastefully decorated and well laid out. Thanks, Jan.

We just got back from our visit to San Diego. Jan (the owner) was wonderful to work with and was very accomodating. We were travelling with 2 young children (under 3) and 4 adults. The house was perfect. It was very clean and nicely furnished. Two things separate this house; 1) the location; 2) the backyard. The location is walking distance to Sail Bay and Mission Beach. Restaurants are 2 minute walk and so is supermarket. The backyard is huge. The kids loved to romp around on the beautifully manicured lawn. Plenty of room for frisby toss, or kicking around a soccer ball. All in all, we had a GREAT experience and would highly recommend this property!!!

We just got back from our San Diego vacation and it was great! The vacation home was as advertised. The location was very convenient and the home was very clean. The back yard was very nice and everything is well maintained. Parking in the garage is great - no need to worry about street parking. My family would stay there again.

Your home was WONDERFUL, and we had a fantastic time there. It was SO nice to be able to cook dinner every night and run 'home' for lunches, etc! My daughter is now lovingly referring to your home as her 'San Diego' house! Everyone is begging me to come back for another stay very soon! This home was just perfect and wonderful for our vacation. We had a delightful long weekend going to Legoland, visiting the SS Midway and visiting with family in the area. The kids really enjoyed walking to the playground at the bay and playing in the sand/surf at the beach. I especially loved my early morning beach walks to get coffee and muffins! This home is fantastic and has all the extras: a very large backyard and bbq, beach towels and toys for the kids, and the beds were so comfortable! The area is very quiet, but so close to everything (one block to Ralph's and Starbucks...!) Thanks again!

This house is just adorable. It is so clean and very well organized. The owner has taken great lengths to ensure a smooth and comfortable stay. She has maped out everything, even directions on how to use the remotes for the TV and DVD players, which was greatly appreciated. The backyard is gorgeous and beautifully maintained. The beds were comfortable and the home was emmaculate. The neighborhood is beautiful and within a short walk from the beach. The freeway is very accessible. The owner is prepared with beach chairs, towels and toys. She even has Sea World Ponchos in the closet. Wish we would have seen those earlier. We would recommend this to anyone who asks, and would definetly stay there again when in San Diego.

This house was perfect for our family reunion!! I'll never go back to hotels again. We had all luxuries of home. We took daily strolls to the beach and bay, cruised the boardwalk on the bikes, roasted marshmellows on the outdoor fire place, went to Sea World but came home for lunch and nap, and walked to dinner and nightlife!! We love this property! It is not a typical vacation rental--it is a wonderful home. The location is perfect and the house has everything you could need or want. We stayed for a week with our 5 month old, 5 year old and 7 year old, and they all loved it! We will be back next summer...

This was our first VRBO experience, and it was wonderful. The homeowner was so organized that it made completing arrangements for the rental, getting to the house, parking the car, and getting settled very easy. The house is in perfect condition: clean, high quality linens, appointed with everything we needed, everything worked, and very comfortable and welcoming. The location couldn't be better - SHORT walk to both the ocean and bay, but far enough away that it felt more homey and quiet. Everything was close and easily accessible - coffee, restaurants, grocery, Sea World. And the back yard and garden furniture make it PERFECT for families. We very much enjoyed our stay, and plan on returning in the future. Thanks Jan!

We use VRBO all across the country for every vacation we take and this home was one of the best we have ever stayed in. Great for any age group ( we had my 78 yr old mother, our 1 & 2 yr old, and my wife & I ). Perfect location ( we walked with kids and equipment to the beach and back each day ), quiet and has a beautiful backyard. This isn't just a rental house, it's a home away from home. You won't be disappointed.
