A cozy, newly decorated duplex (lower unit) on the Balboa Peninsula, just steps to the Newport Bay near the child friendly bay beach ("mom's beach") or just a short stroll to the ocean beach.
Located in the heart of the McFadden's Wharf area, we are on the bay side just across the street from the Newport Pier. We are in walking distance to a wide variety of casual and fine dining restaurants including the famous Crab Cooker, 21 Oceanfront, and The Cannery. Nearby beach equipment rentals offer gear such as boogie boards for the waves and beach bikes so you can cruise the boardwalk.
Featuring a master bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds. The property has two patios, one off the master bedroom and the front patio with BBQ and table with umbrella and chairs. Very comfortable surroundings with flat screen TV, high definition cable TV and DVD entertainment system. The kitchen is well stocked and has new appliances. There is also broadband WiFi internet access available upon request for no additional charge. The property is well maintained and kept immaculately clean.
Activities abound if you are seeking and adventurous vacation. We have some of the best surf breaks in Southern California very close to the property. There are also weekly summer programs held at the very nearby bay beach such as sailing and kayaking. Walk or bike to Balboa Island, Lido Village, Cannery Village for great restaurants and shopping. The Fun Zone located near the Balboa Pavilion offers a classic Ferris wheel, arcades, gift shopping, nautical museum, bay front dining, boat rental and tours of the Newport Bay.

Nice place with great owners

We stayed at this unit for one week in August. This unit is located in a quiet location, but within easy access to the beach, pier, and restaurants around Newport Pier. Owners were super nice and very friendly. They even moved one of the vehicles from the garage so we can park our car. Without the garage space, parking would have been bit difficult due to the street parking rules in this area. Overall, we highly recommend this place. Great location, the place is very well kept up (it did not feel like a rental apartment) and great owners.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We are a family of four with two teenager sons. We found the apartment very nice and well equipped. It is also very strategically placed at a short walking distance from the beach and a 5 minutes car ride from the supermarket and other amenities. Newport Beach is a very beautiful town and very close to many other nice towns and areas. A car is definitely needed and the owners of the house were very kind and patient on the use of the parking space. We had a very pleasant stay in the house and we strongly recommend it. Unfortunately, since is not true that " it never rains in Southern California" we were not able to profit of the patio and the bbq, but we would be very happy to go back and profit of these equipments as well in the future.

This place was super easy to rent, clean, and right on the beach. It was a perfect place for my family with a one year old and four year old. We were able to walk right out on the beach and with it being right on the boardwalk we could walk to eat and have fun.
Recommended for:Families with young children.

This was the perfect condo for us. It's in a great location, quite on the harbour side yet 5 minutes (genuine max) from the beach and the pier and 100 yards from the road that takes you up to Balboa one way and towards the freeways and airport the other. It's really nicely decorated, has all the conveniences you'd want and is a pleasure to call home for a week or two. There's a 7-11 two minutes walk away and nice restaurants within five minutes and yet it's all peaceful and safe. The owners were really helpful and flexible and always got back to us quickly. Our two teenage girls loved it so it passes the 'cool' test too! I'd really recommend this place.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
