We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in the Waikoloa Village condo. Quiet, peaceful well maintained, and very well stocked, are a few of the things we enjoyed. Location is good if doing any travel across the Saddle road as you can reach Hilo in just over 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is only 15 minutes to Hapuna , my favorite, as well as Puako, great for snorkeling. We would definatly stay here again. Thanks Mary.
Owner response:Hale Luana (House of Relaxation) at Paniolo Club is conveniently located to so many places of interest. A-Bay and the Waikoloa Beach Resorts are just 6 minutes away, Hilo, an hour+ drive over the newly widened and paved Saddle Road. The best beaches are just a short drive away! We LOVE the location and our quiet, peaceful location. We would buy here again in a snap! Once again, we pride ourselves in having a well-stocked unit.....much more than any other vacation rental we have stayed in.

We had a fantastic time on the big island and it was even a better stay with the pleasant surprise of this lovely, immaculate condo! Equipped to the nines, every detail thought of for the comfort of the guest, along with plenty of materials to reacquaint us to the island. The new kitchen is great, brand new appliances and cookware too! However our favorite part was the setting and position of the lanai. We enjoyed sitting out in the late afternoon playing gin watching the last of the golfers pass and the flock of wild turkeys meandering by, all the time letting us know it's their golf course!. We would return again and again..............

As of this stay there are many large green potted plants on the lanai..almost like sitting in a well well-groomed jungle!! :-) and a second chaisse lounge with all new cushions for the lanai furniture. We often think about raising the rates to reflect the upgrades and amenities we have. However, it pleases us to share our home with others and want it to be affordable. Mahalo, once again, for the review!

Owner response:Our unit is VERY reasonably priced...especially considering the updated kitchen and the amenities we provide. We have several return guests because of what we offer. Some may think it is less of a unit because the price is so low.......not so!!

This Hawaii get-away condo was a wonderful find! The place had everything we needed to actually LIVE in it for a week! It is tastefully decorated with interesting Big Island pictures and art. We were “testing the waters” for our living on the Big Island, so we did NOT want to eat out every night. It can get expensive very fast if you have to purchase every single condiment and maybe a kitchen tool or two. There were so many things in the kitchen we felt right at home! The “if you finish something, replace it” rule worked for us. Since we ate in every night, the 3-4 things we happened to finish were so much easier than starting from scratch – and we loved the Asian marinade that someone else purchased! It was so nice to have chairs and towels for our couple of relaxing trips to the beach - and the ability to pack our lunch. The assortment of paperback books was perfect for a quiet read on the lanai. We loved being able to wash our clothes and bring them home clean. The view of the sunset over the golf course was perfect as we grilled on the lanai and listened to Hawaiian CDs we found in the CD player. Oh yes, and the group of turkeys that wandered by every day was so much fun to photograph!

I really loved staying at Hale Luana. We are a family of four and we had plenty of room. The view overlooking the golf course is lovely, and it's a nice way to wake up in the morning. There are some nice beaches that are pretty close to the condo. We loved exploring the Big Island and we are definetly going to stay at Hale Luana again. The owner was available through email and responded very quickly. I had many questions about the island, and she very helpful answering my questions. The condo had a lot of ammenities, like snorkle gear, beach stuff, and a well stocked kitchen. Wish I was back on the Big Island! Thanks Mary and Ray!

Loved this place! Very well kept. Very Clean and every thing required for a stay is very well maintained and kept. The owner has even taken care of play things and beach equipments required for kids. Beaches are just few miles away. Kitchen has everything that a family needs for home cooking. Loved it! Will stay again.

Owner response:Like many of the previous posts say.....we have everything you could want in our condo. It is a remarkable unit for the price you pay....honestly!! We have tried to keep our rates low to accomodate almost any budget. The rates do not reflect the quality of the furnishings and amenities provided. Hapuna Beach and others are just a short drive away where one can enjoy the sun and beach....then back to the condo for sun and cooler temperatures.

My husband and I had the extremely wonderful experience of staying in this condo for 2 months. It was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We loved how every time we walked in the door we knew we were in Hawaii. The lanai offered beautiful views, comfortable furniture and privacy. It's in very quiet surroundings. The owners were very accessible from start to our sad departure. We will definetly come back to this unit and recommend it to all we know! Thank you Mary and Ray!
Owner response:We continue to make improvements every year and feel we have made our little slice of "Paradise" very comfortable with an island feel.. We want to continue to provide many amenities other rentals do not.....including condiments, ziplock bags, soy sauce, spices, other food items, beach items, and others too many to list. Our unit has high quality bedding and other linens and the view is super! Another bonus is that our neighbors are truly sweet, quiet, and helpful.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful condominium for the month of February this year. We like to play hard at the beach all day. What was wonderful about this condo was that it is 10 degrees cooler up here at Waikoloa Village. So when we were ready to get out of the direct sun and cool down to a nice patio BBQ, we had it all here. Did I mention the beautiful sunsets? The property is also very quite and safe. We slept every night with the patio doors open to allow the nice breeze to keep us cool and lull us to sleep. We liked it so much, we re-booked for this year (2011). This condo is a great value and The Big Island is our favorite! MAHALO! :>)
Owner response:Ray and I love being at a slightly cooler elevation. We have never been in our unit when the temperature wasn't comfortable. There is almost always a cooling breeze that blows right through the unit if certain windows are opened. Waikoloa Village is a safe environment and we rarely lock our doors. However, one feature our lanai doors have, is the ability to lock, slightly open , so a breeze can come through if our guests prefer a locked glass door. We spent seven weeks in the unit this summer and rarely missed a sunset. Even though our unit does not offer a view of the sun actually setting into the ocean, one can view most of sun's path to the horizon. The best color is after the sun sets, and our unit faces west perfectly for the glorious colors. We do offer a great value for what our guests get. We like to think we have done a good job of decorating with island art and "theme" and taking special care to provide comfort.

We recently stayed in this condo and it was just beautiful. Very nicely furnished, equipped with all the creature comforts, and more. The abundance of materials for activities was very helpful and we put them to good use. We also loved the golf course setting and the turkeys who "talked" to us each day. I had my laptop along so was very happy to be able to download pictures each day and connect with the world. I would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it to my friends. You both have created a beautiful home away from home. Five stars in my book.

We spend several weeks in our unit each year and have provided items we think are convenient...like a swing-out magnifying mirror in the bathroom for those who actually wear make-up in " paradise" or for those whose eyes aren't as good as they used to be :-) . This is our second home and we appreciate those who have treated it as such. We continue making additions and improvements each time we visit. Evidently many appreciate it as we have many return visitors. We, as owners, are reliable, make ourselves available to our guests' questions, concerns (if any) and make renting from us easy and stress-free. We hope we will have the pleasure of having you as our guest again.

I would sincerely use this rental property again. It is well taken care of. All of my email and phone calls was return in a timely matter. The place is beautiful. The swimming area offer so much. We really enjoyed our stay. It's such a safe place to live. I work in pubic safety for 24yrs. I have been on many vacations. None compare to how safe I felt. It is definite home away from home.

Of the four condos we've rented in Waikoloa, so far this was the best stocked with the nicest furnishings.......By the way, the resident turkeys looked a little worried on Thanksgiving Day!

We have stayed in the Hale Luana of Mary and Ray Peterson 2 years in a row now, and we are looking forward to stay there again. The minute we enter the condo, we feel at home there. Our spirit is lifted by the beautiful surrounding, the spacious and light atmosphere, the excellent taste with which the condo has been decorated. We love to cook our meals in the well appointed kitchen (a great supermarket is within walking distance), and to eat on the lanai, watching the birds and the golfers.Everything is provided for a most pleasurable stay, even books and music CDs. We stayed at Ray and Mary's place for a month and the comments from other guests are right on the mark. This is a great place and we highly recommend it. Everything worked well, from getting to the place, getting in the door, staying in the condo, leaving and getting the damage deposit back. It is exactly as it is described and shown in the photos, and there are lots of extras. Staying with 4 adults is comfortable and roomy. Thanks again for a great stay and for being such great hosts.

It felt just like home! I loved the decorations, great space, most excellent lanai to watch bad golfers and wild turkeys jog by...everything was right where you'd find it at home. Very convenient to grocery and Kohala beaches. Would definitely rent from Ray and Mary again and have already highly recommended our stay to family and friends. Aloha e mahalo!

We used this condo during our recent trip to Hawaii. It was perfect with three kids!! Beautiful views, convenient to shopping, and close to the beautiful beaches of Waikoloa. The condo was well stocked with all the extras. Would stay here again if back on Kona. Mary was great to rent from- highly recommend!!
