2BR/2BA Condo in Vail Village, on Gore Creek, Walk to Lifts

Year Purchased: 2006

Why the Owner Chose Other Vail Village Properties

We have always loved Vail for its incredible skiing. But, since we purchased the condo, we have discovered the best part of Vail ... the summer! We really like the cozy fell and easy access around Vail Village.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo

We really enjoy a relaxing time at the condo. There are plenty of creature comforts, but we especially enjoy the sounds of the creek, clean mountain air, and beautiful views. No matter the season or the reason, we hope you enjoy your trip to Vail. .. Mary

A
Vista Bahn Lift

The Vail Village skiers plaza and the Vista Bahn lift is a 5-7 minute walk. Los Amigos and the Red Lion are great Apres Ski locations near this lift.

B
The Covered Bridge

Vail's famous covered bridge is the gateway to the heart of the village with pedestrian streets to access shops and restaurants. It is a 4-minute walk from our condo along the beautiful Gore Creek Trail (pedestrian only).

C
Riva Bahn Lift

The Riva Bahn lift is the quickest way to head to the top of Vail Mountain. It is located at the Golden Peak skiers plaza and is a 5-7 minute walk from our condo. If you have children going to the ski school this is the most convenient base of operation.

D
Children's Ski School

The Golden Peak children's ski school and child care center are located in this building. A drop-off parking lot is located next to the ski school.

E
Ford Amphitheater

This outdoor amphitheater is a great spot for summer concerts. The Vail music and dance festivals host many great performances here. Many events are kid-friendly with children allowed free seating on the lawn. The Amphitheater is a 5-minute walk.

F
Children's Playground

A large children's playground is just a 3-4 minute walk from the condo. The Betty Ford Alpine gardens are also located in this area.

G
Gore Creek Trail

Leave your car behind and enjoy the beautiful walk along the Gore Creek Trail. Convenient steps down to the trail are located just to the side of our condo building.

H
Pepi's

Pepi's offers great live music in both summer and winter. We especially enjoy the outdoor dining and live music in the summer.

I
Helmet Fricker

We especially love seeing Helmet Fricker perform at the Christiania lodge. Scheduled performances are limited so plan around it if you can.

J
Sonenalp

We enjoy the hot chocolate and live music at the Sonenalp. And, we always enjoy at least one dinner at the Bully Ranch. This is a 10-minute walk, but you can always hop on a bus if your ski legs need a break.

Owner's Map of Other Vail Village Properties

We live outside Charleston, South Carolina. James is a pilot, and I manage a retail business. We are thrilled to have our Vail condo as a second home.

We recommend the 'Satellite' view below for a good perspective on Vail Village.

A delightful Summer Visit to Vail

Guest: CP (Atlanta, GA)
Date of Stay: 08/24/11 Review Submitted: 09/01/11

My husband and I just got back from six delightful days spent at this location. The condo was well equipped with a well stocked kitchen and all of the appliances that could easily accommodate meals if utilized for a family of eight to be seated at the large dinig table. We did not utilize the pool area but it was only a few steps away from the front door. Like others have mentioned we enjoyed the quiet balcony and outstanding view with the birds in the trees and mountain background overlooking Gore Creek. The scenery was delightful. We had all the conveniences of home. The proximity to the village was perfect for a short walk and when venturing further to the west end of the Vail village to the Gondola area the free electric buses were extremely convenient and efficient. They circled about every five to ten minutes and could be conveniently boarded at tne end of the path behind the condos by the small bridge that spanned the creek. Situated conveniently between the village and the Gerald Ford amphiteater and Betty Ford Gardens and within walking distance of children' ski slopes makes this a very good location for many venues. Thank you for sharing your home with others. WE hope to return someday, perhaps when it is a winter wonderland!. Its natural decor and comfort complimented the natural beauty of Vail and served as an oasis for those of us trying to escape the summer heat surrounding us deep in the sunny south.

Great location, great for family of 4!

Our family (2 adults, 2 children) stayed for 5 nights in July 2010. The condo is very nicely appointed and was perfect for us. We knew the location was great - right on Gore creek. We didn't know there would be such a great view of the mountains, as the patio on the back deck looks right up at the Vail ski area. Also, it was a great surprise to find a stairway at the condo that leads down to the trail on Gore creek. You can follow the trail right into the heart of Vail Village. It's maybe a 5 minute walk at the most. We look forward to a return visit in 2011.

My wife and I and our good friends stayed here in January '09 and it was a really great place to stay. Very warm and cozy... so warm in fact, we never turned the heat on and had the windows open! New appliances, nice interior, which definitely makes you feel at home and not in just some cheap hotel. We would have liked to have some wash cloths in any of the bathrooms since we only had 1 for the whole place. As for the kitchen area, it has great new appliances, but there were limited cooking utensils and there were no supplies to hand wash any of our dishes. Regardless, it was a great vacation, and we would definitely stay here again!

I am writing to thank you so very much for letting us stay in your lovely condo! We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The location was perfect since we could walk to Vail Village, catch the bus to Lionshead, and had easy access to I-70 (we drove to the rodeo in Beaver Creek and went rafting thru The Numbers on the Arkansas River). We could really appreciate all of your recent renovations since we are starting the process of remodeling our kitchen. I loved your kitchen faucet so much that I am wanting to purchase one just like it for our home. Thank you again for allowing us the opportunity to stay in your condo and we look forward to returning. I wish we were there right now since it is 106 in Plano, TX today. :)

We stayed here in June 2007 and enjoyed it immensely. Great location, lovely furnishings and upgrades. Would certainly stay here again. Darrel, the property manager for the condo, and Mary, the owner, were very easy to work with.
