Cabin on Yellowstone River Just Outside Yellowstone Nat'l Park
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This cozy cabin is located on the Yellowstone River at the southern end of Paradise Valley, just 4 miles north of Gardiner and the original entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Whether you are coming to visit the park, sample the blue ribbon trout fishing or to enjoy the numerous year round outdoor activities the area has to offer; this location is ideal for you.
This newly remodeled cabin comes with all of the amenities you would expect to make your stay comfortable. Your covered outdoor porch overlooks the Yellowstone River with spectacular views of the park and Electric Peak. Each bedroom can accommodate up to 4 people, has it's own full bathroom and satellite TV. When you want to kick back in the evening, enjoy the living room's reclining furniture, satellite TV and Franklin stove. The cook will not be disappointed. The kitchen is equipped with a water filtering and ice making refrigerator, quality appliances and cookware and even a variety of spices. A washer and dryer along with all linens and towels for bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen are also provided.
The area abounds with year round outdoor activities. Winter offers the solitude of snowshoeing, back country and cross country skiing both in the park and in the surrounding National Forest. Spring brings a special treat for bicyclists. While the northern road from Gardiner to Cooke City remains open year round, the remainder of the park is limited to bicycle traffic only for a period in the month of April. As winter run off swells the the Yellowstone River, rafting and kayaking take center stage. Summer offers park visits, fishing and all of the other outdoor activities too numerous to list. Fall wraps up the year with smaller crowds in the park, crisp fresh air, hunting and great fishing.
The Yellowstone Association Institue offers year round classes and information is available on their web site.

We LOVED our stay on the Yellowstone River. Great little cottage VERY NICELY appointed-everything we could possibly need. Beautiful setting and easy drive to Yellowstone and to Gardiner which is a fun little town (K-Bar!!). Many thanks for this wonderful segment of our Western vacation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in the Yellowstone area, and would rent it again myself if I ever return! It was exceptionally neat, and very well stocked both with paper products and kitchen ware (they have more gadgets in their kitchen than I do!). The towels were large and fluffy, and the beds were comfortable. The table, grill, and furniture on the back patio were wonderful to have. Also nice to have dishwasher, washer and dryer. This cabin is on the end, so there's a bit more privacy too. There is a communal firepit 2 cabins down out back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Kieren and Ron. Your place is terrific. We had a great week from 8/22 - 8/29/09. All the little extra's you have in the cabin gave so much more time to enjoy the area rather than worrying about shopping. Enjoyed it tremendously and totally recommend the cabin to anyone heading to Yellowstone. Thanks, Phil, Nancy and Tony.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

The Yellowstone River Cabin was the ideal place to stay during our (2nd in two years) YNP visit. It's very close to the North entrance, but far enough from the crowds and congestion of Canyon and Mammoth. Yellowstone is a big park and this was a nice home base for three days, particularly for the activities and sightseeing around the northern "half" of the Grand Loop. The cabin is well maintained and clean. It had more than enough space for us - 2 adults and 1 teen - inside with two bedrooms, each with two queen beds, and two bathrooms. The washer and dryer was certainly handy for us on our two week trip. Having a full kitchen also saved us time and money as we prepared breakfast daily and one dinner (dinners out at the Beartooth Cafe in Cooke City and The Raven in Gardiner). Seeing and hearing the river flow by and the Montana "big sky" at night was great. The rabbits out front were an unexpected treat in "wildlife" viewing in addition to the pronghorn we saw along "Old Yellowstone Road". "Old Yellowstone Road" is not paved, but was in very good condition. There's parking right outside the "back" door as well as a parking pad next to the cabin.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin with us. It was really comfy - a home away from home! Wonderful to be so close to the Park - we saw lots of elk in Mammoth and many bison on the way back from Yellowston Canyon which was awesome! Kierin and Ron, Thank you for making our stay at your beautiful and scenic cabin so comfortable and war. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and found are time spent on the porch, listening to the river water flowing by as one of the hightlights of our almost two week trip exploring Glacier National Park and the Greater Yellowstone area. After long day trips into the Park your cabin was the ideal place for us to relax, unwind and enjoy the beauty around here. Thaks for sharing this with us and we will always have the lovely memories for time spent here as a family (our parents who are visiting from India). We rafted down the Yellowstone River and saw the cabin from the raft. A herd of Pronghorn were in the area and a joy to see every evening. We hope to come back again in the future. Please give us a call when you are in the Twin Cities. Anant and Anubha, Plymouth MNDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
