The pictures are true to the cabin. It was a very comfortable home with a great layout for family time. Usually the game room and family gathering room are on different levels. In this home, it was all together in a very large layout with the kitchen tucked away behind the beautiful log fireplace. We all enjoyed every minute and the hot tub was a favorite of ours after walking around town and Dollywood. Thanks so much for providing a comfortable place in a beautiful part of Tennesee. We are sure to return. :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This place was a wonderful place to spend Spring Break. The cabin was clean, has a ton of space and a huge tv. We brought our own video game systems and hooked them up to the tv. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and even salt and pepper. The only downsides were, the couch does not pull out. There is only room to sleep 7 unless you bring your own air mattress. Also, we couldn't figure out how to make the bubbles in the hot tub turn up. The owner was always very helpful and I'm sure we could have asked him, but we were more into just relaxing than dealing with that. Loved the fireplace. Ultimately, it was a wonderful experience!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Steve's chalet. It was just as pictured. Just wish we could have stayed longer. He was real easy to work with. The cabin was even decorated for Christmas which really gave it that warm fuzzy feeling.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at this wonderful retreat. There were a few issues with our stay that were beyond the property owners control. We contacted them and the issues were addressed and taken care of immediately. The owner refunded us a one nights rate which was a shock to us. This is a great place to vacation and we will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are extremely committed to resolving ANY issues that our guests have to ensure their stay is enjoyable. Guests will never have to worry that they are forgotten once they check in.

What a lovely few days in Gatlinburg! This home is very comfortable and makes it easy to relax after a long day of walking around town. There is a nice cozy living room where the kids enjoyed playing pool while we relaxed on the couch. The beds were extremely comfortable!!! There were a few housekeeping issues, but I contacted the owner and he was very quick to respond to our concerns and addressed the matter immediately. The owner was very easy to work with! He gave us some suggestions on local places to visit as well as where to park when visiting the downtown area. No bears in the driveway, but we did find paw prints on the outdoor trash container after being out one afternoon. We did get to see one at Clingman's Dome though!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed 9/30/11-10/4/2011 with my parents and brother and our 3 children (8 total). We saw a bear on the road driving to the chalet, before ever arriving! We love the area, close to Gatlinburg, stoplight #10. The weather was great! The upper living area has a nice setup. The sofa does not open into a bed. The ad states that it sleeps 6-8 and including the couch for #7, I guess that is between 6 and 8. If you have 8, take an air matress AND bedding because only extra blankets and pillows are there. I think there were only 8 little towels in the bathrooms for showers, too. Glad we brought extra to use the hot tub! There was a smoke detector in the locked hall closet that beeped forever. We asked that someone check it out, never heard or saw anyone about it. We did not think the kitchen was clean enough to put groceries in the cabinets. There was all kinds of sawdust or nesting materials or something on top and inside the cabinets. The track lighting above the kitchen was covered in filth. The bathroom on the upper level was smelly and the lower level baths need serious updating. We enjoyed all of the nature, the fire place, the hot tub and the surrounding areas! We all were able to hike and horseback ride. Loved the Sugarland Stable trails, where we saw a momma and baby bear in the woods. I highly recommend the Sugarland Cellars winery, enjoyable tour. Ober Gatlinburg was nice. You can see the Alpine tram right from the deck.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Owner info

About the owner: Hi, I'm Steve Baker, the owner of Cedarbrook. I was born in New Jersey, but have discovered there's no place like Tennessee. I move quite often, but can always count on great R&R every time I can visit this chalet in the Smoky Mountains.
Why the Owner Chose Chalet Village:
I have discovered that Gatlinburg is one of the most unique places I have ever been. It borders the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And it exhibits a mountain character that is preserved in time. My chalet is located on a mountainside in the city limits called Chalet Village. This village contains hundreds of unique chalets and log homes. Every home is unique in its design. This has been the perfect area to own a home
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
The biggest benefit is the incredible peace and serenity of sitting on the deck and listening to the stream next to the chalet and looking out over the beautiful mountainside scenery. Perhaps the biggest thrill is watching bears that often stroll along the road and along the creek beds.
