  • We spent a week here in July/August 2007, there were 7 adults, 4 young kids, and 2 dogs. While we were a bit of a squeeze with our numbers, we were extremely happy with the house. The location was superb--5 minute drive from town beach, 15 minute drive from Hammonnasset State Beach, 5 minute walk to charming town center. We cooked on the grill every night. At the end of the street is a super nice family with a 6 year old boy; if you have young kids he'll find you and is fun to play with! Nice touche: the free wireless internet/phone. Only (minor) drawback: lots of mosquitoes, so bring your bug spray. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • Our family stayed at the Purple Button Factory in July 2007. There were eight of us and we had a great time. The large bedroom upstairs was perfect for our four kids. The free long-distance calls and internet access was a great perk. The house is very close to Route 1 and I-95. It's a nice quiet area too. Great large washer and dryer. Plenty of bath towels and sheets - we brought our own beach towels and were glad we did. Plenty of beach chairs available for guest use. The next time we visit family in CT, we'll try to rent this house again!
