The house was beautiful and comfortable. There were 9 of us ladies and my 18 month old grandson. I stayed upstairs with my 2 daughters and grandson. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The view and balcony was so nice. Even though it's not right on the beach, you can see the ocean in between the houses across the street and it's a very short walk to it. They even provide chairs and toys you can take to the beach. The only thing negative I heard from any of our girls was that one of the rooms downstairs was a little warm and didn't have a mirror in it. I think all ladies like to have a mirror in their room. I was very satisfied and highly recommend this house as a great vacation home! It was well worth it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We try to have high standard since we do want our guest to enjoy themselve and return again. However, Sometimes there are things I cannot control The replacement dryer was out of my control. A new one was ordered 2/25 from Lowe's and I was told it would be delivered 2/26 later I was told they were out of stock and it would take 7-10 days. Which it should have been delivered the Monday after you arrived however, Lowe's did not get it in until Friday and it was delivered Saturday. Thank you for your commets and the 4 star rating. We do hope consider staying again. Sincerely, Cheryl FisherDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Good value for the money. Stayed for the week. Good for beach access. Right across the street. place was clean. Pictures were accurate. Inside windows were sticky as someone splashed pop on them and we had to clean. Needs updating. No internet. Dishwasher horrible-the noise was awful to hear. In ad advertised washer and dryer. We told the owner we were bringing a baby with cloth diapers, and we really need washer and dryer. We checkd in on Sat and were informed on Mon. the dryer didn't work. Called the owner on Mon and she said she sent us an e-mail(no internet). and Oh, she can't have a dryer till Sat(when we were leaving) and that the laundrymat was down the road. Not very convenient with a baby. She apologized a million times but a dryer would have been better than apologies. Can't take away the memories and the time spent with familyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Eight of my family members and myself recently stayed here in July for three nights! We had a wonderful time! Everything was clean and well maintained. There is plenty of beach equipment to borrow and the house is well stocked with anything else you may need. The house is located close to downtown and many restaurants. The beach is just a short walk from the house. I will definitely be returning!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We liked that it was a short walk across street to beach access. The house is located in an area that is close to restaurants and downtown shopping. Although the house was large enough to accommodate our family, it was very dated from the appliances to the bathrooms to all the bedroom furniture. The shower liner had mold on it, ($4 fix), and the shower rod downstairs was rusted, (a $15 fix). There was what looked like mold between the peel and stick floor downstairs and the fridge upstairs looked dirty. Having the appearance of being clean and updated is paramount to us when renting a home.Owner response: I am so sorry that you felt the house was not clean enough. We try to have high standard since we do want our guest to enjoy themselve and return again. We have changed the shower curtain & shower rod. The refrigerator was clean however, with being across from the ocean the outside does get rust marks. We are planning on addressing that. Thank you for your comments. If we are not aware of any problem then we cannot correct it. Sincerely, Cheryl Fisher

The house was clean, roomy, and comfortable. The windows, however, were very dirty with salt and dirt and we had to clean them so we could see out of them to enjoy the view. We were disappointed to come to a house where all the windows were so dirty you could not see out of them. We also could not get the DVD player to work.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I apologize for your inconvenience. We always clean the windows after every tenant, but please keep in mind that we are within 100 yards of the ocean, and if we get a storm or high winds off the ocean between guests, the salt spray can leave a film on the outside. It is usually easy to remove with water. As for the DVD player, this is the first we've heard that it isn't working properly. Equipment does fail occasionally and I will look into right away. Thank you for bringing this to my attention; I appreciate your feedback. Bob Fisher, Owner

My husband and I rented this house with 4 other couples in July and we LOVED it!!! The owner was great and very helpful, and the house was very clean. The master suite was AMAZING and it was so great having two kitchens and living rooms. We had 10 people there and never felt like we were "in each other's space". We also loved sitting on the big porch every night! It was awesome being so close to the beach so we could come and go throughout the day without making a long trek every time. Which by the way the beach was huge and not crowded at all so we all loved that as well. We all lovingly call the house "the octagon" and will definitely be going back there!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is a great house/location; everything was neat and clean. My husband and I stayed here for a week this summer with our three daughters and my parents. We loved the layout; having a small kitchen and den downstairs was wonderful. All linens were provided (sheets, towels, even beach towels). The whole rental process from beginning to end was simple. Great experience!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I rented this beautiful beach house the week of June 12-19, 2011. I have never been to the beach and really felt like I was on vacation. It has always been such a job to pack all the necessary "tools" needed for a large family with all the packing and unpacking that is required. I still packed and took my "stuff" even though I was told by the owner that it was completely furnished (after we got there and looked inside I left it in my car). I hope to rent again next year and I will pack my clothes and just go. It was wonderful! My family LOVES it. I gave it a five star rating, but it was more like a 10 star. This house is by far the BEST place I have ever stayed in at Fernandina Beach. We have been going for the past 50 years. Did I say I LOVE it?? If not, I do!!!!!!!! I would recommend this house to anyone. Oh, I almost forgot!!! Don't miss the paintings on the walls. Most of them are done by the owner. They are very soothing, and very good!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
