The Rockies II is situated at the base of Mt. Werner’s legendary ski area. The facility had a 4 million dollar facelift in 2004-2005 which included new cedar siding, windows, balconies, roofs, parking, and renovations to the pool/hot tub area. To go along with the exterior renovations our second story unit, which faces the mountain, was remodeled with all the amenities a luxury home would offer including new carpet, a granite surrounded gas fireplace, modern furniture, and lovely mountain accents including a personally harvested pine hearth over the fireplace and matching pine beams across the ceiling.
The kitchen has brand new appliances and granite countertops throughout. There is a flat-screen TV, DVD, VCR, and CD stereo in the living room and also a TV in the bedroom. Free high speed internet is also included. Free shuttle service is available from the Rockies to Downtown Steamboat, grocery store, or the ski area, however it is only a short walk across the street to Gondola Square/Ski area, where you can find numerous shops, restaurants, and nightlife. The Rockies II also has a comfortable pool and multiple hot tubs which are great after a long day on the mountain.
Whether it is to enjoy Steamboat Springs legendary "Champagne Powder" in winter or the great hiking and fishing in summer, there is always plenty to do in Steamboat. If you are into beautiful scenery it is only a five minute drive to Fish Creek falls where there is tremendous hiking and site seeing. If its mountain biking your into, Steamboat Springs offers very cheap summer lift rides up the gondola for your downhill pleasure.
For fisherman, it is hard to beat fly-fishing the Yampa River which snakes through Downtown Steamboat and is slammed full of trout. In winter or summer, Strawberry Park hot springs are always a favorite treat to sooth those sore muscles and is only a short drive from the Rockies II complex.
Steamboat offers two premiere golf courses, horseback riding, and plenty of water sports along the Yampa for your summertime entertainment. Take the kids down Howelsen Hill’s alpine slide that is open all summer long. In the winter Howelsen Hill offers night skiing and tubing.
