“Le Four des Banes” is a country farmhouse that was probably built in the 18th century, on the ruins of an older construction that housed an authentic Roman oven dating from the 2nd century.
The old oven has been preserved and constitutes the curiosity of this convivial and authentic place.
The farmhouse is located 3 km away from the town centre of Aix-en-Provence, in the countryside but close to the main roads. It is at the centre of the roads leading to the Alpilles in the Verdon or the Lubéron and not far away from the first paths leading to Sainte-Victoire Mountain.
Style and choice of items is sober, mix of wood, wrought iron and old stones, here, everything has been designed to bring comfort and warmth.
The main room is bathed in light thanks to its large openings and invites guests to spend some moments of tranquillity and privacy.
The kitchen houses the old oven, it’s the main room of the house where the guests can relax and have breakfast.
From May to September, pool and sunbeds wait for the sun and farniente lovers. Garden furniture is also at your disposal to comfortably end the day.

If you are looking for a tastefully decorated B&B in Aix-en-Provence, look no further. Me and my husband stayed here for 4 days and Le four des Banes and it was very enjoyable. The guest house is very new. There are 3 rooms right now. There is a great open space where guests can relax, watch tv, listen to music or use wifi to surf the Internet. There is a beautiful swimming pool in the courtyard but the weather was not warm enough for us to use. On arrival, we were welcomed by Laurence who was very friendly and helpful. She provided us with numerous recommendations on what and where to visit. Every morning, we were served with an excellent breakfast, served with proviencial servery. The property is only 5 min drive from the bustle of the Aix city centre which was very convenient. I definitely recommend this B&B for couples and family.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
