Extremely unique vacation rental with all the amenities and comforts of home. Our place is a two bedroom/two bath log home with a huge fully stocked kitchen. If you do not find what you are looking for, just simply write us a note and we will have it for you the next time you come visit.
There are two large bedrooms in the main house. The Master bedroom has an attached bathroom, a large walk-in closet and a private deck overlooking the lake. The living room sleeps an additional four persons with a queen futon couch and 2 single futon chair/sleepers. There is also a mudroom with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
The main house also boasts a very large wrap-around deck where you can entertain to your heart's delight. There is a gas grill for grilling out and at the same time you can watch the deer, bear and other wildlife and, of course, listen to the magnificent loon calls. The bunkhouse above the garage is absolutely adorable and has two separate bedrooms, a powder room and a little kitchenette.
Tambling Lake is a 169-acre private lake with awesome fishing. There is a 18' 50hp Palm Beach pontoon boat on site, or you can rent pontoons, canoes, and fishing boats just 2 miles away on the chain of lakes. There are numerous fishing tournaments on the chain and Eagle River is the snowmobile capital of the world. Go out our driveway and get on one of many trails right down the road.
The property is just three miles east of Eagle River and just blocks away from the chain of lakes. Boat Sport Marina is right around the corner. For the avid shopper, you are just minutes away from the most extraordinary shops. Rain or shine, Summer or Winter, there is always something to do around Eagle River!!!

I have been going up to the North Woods since I have been a little girl (which has been a very long time), and mainly stayed around the Eagle River-St. Germaine area. I still love the area so much and all it has to offer, that I had to have a place that I could continue to go to and also share with other people who can appreciate some of the most beautiful and serene places on the face of this earth.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We are avid snowmobilers and love the easy access to the trails that can take you hundreds of miles around the North Woods. We also love to boat and either spend the day on our private lake, where the water is crystal clear and the surroundings so peaceful or take the boat to the chain of lakes and spend the day going from lake to lake, stopping off at one of the many sand bars or visiting of our favorite establishments. You will never run out of things to do.

Owners lied to us repeatedly. Had trouble with the pontoon boat. Place smell like urine. We highly recommend you look elsewhere.
Owner response:The two couples decided to rent with us and I had quoted them one price. They then decided to take the pontoon and informed them that it would be an extra $300 for the pontoon. We normally charge $650 additional for the pontoon, but because they were being very wishy washy about everything from the very beginning, I just decided to go along with the $300. That is the first time we have ever given a discount on the pontoon. We have a 2005 Palm Beach pontoon and it is in great condition. We have never had one complaint on the boat since we starting renting. They also brought up a fishing boat and from what they were saying, they went on the chain quite a bit, so probably did not use the pontoon as much as they thought they would. They are making excuses, because they want their money back on the pontoon, but they signed a legal rental contract to include the pontoon. It is impossible that the place smells like urine, because we just put all new flooring down. We were there twice since these renters were there and we did not or did any of our friends, smell anything. We also took the pontoon out for three days and without a problem. Once on our lake and twice on the chain with 2 other couples present. We had an awesome rental season this year and not one complaint. Almost every renter either emailed or called to say what a beautiful place we have and what a wonderful time they had. And they all rented the pontoon as well, with no issues. We have no problems giving a refund back if it truly was for a valid reason, but they are lying and obviously unscrupulous.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car.

Had a great time! Even with our special needs daughter is was easy for her wheelchair. Really only 1 or 2 steps to get into the house. Everything clean and new. Would highly recommend.

We spend the weekend at the Loons Nest and the property is spectacular. We will tell all of our friends that this is by far the best property in the Eagle River area. The house is beautifully decorated and so cozy with the fireplace and interior furnishings. We could not think of one thing that was missing. Planning our next trip soon. Very nice place; newly built with well appointed and large kitchen. Upstairs bedrooms over garage (Bunkhouse) do not have a full bath and retained the daytime heat - definitely a disadvantage compared to the main house. All in all a very nice place.
Owner response:There is a half bath in the bunk house because it is basically just used for extra sleeping quarters, but there are 2 3/4 baths in the main house, just footsteps away. We are working on putting central air in both the main house and the bunk house. Thank you!
