To say that we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. We got in late at night and woke up to the most amazing view and the wonderful smells of the Pacific. The property, the location and the town were all more than we expected. We were two families, one with a 3 year old and one with a 10 year old, it could not have been a better time. The Property: The property is managed by a long time hospitality industry pro and it shows. There was no detail left to chance. All the little amenities that make a stay easier were taken care of. These folks have managed to present a very welcoming environment for renters while retaining a homey feel, not an easy thing to do. The master bedroom has a recently renovated massive window view to the bay that is breathtaking and a great way to open your eyes. Hopefully the pictures will be updated soon. The wood stove complete w wood and kindling was fantastic as well. The Location: Wow. You could not ask for a better location. You really are at the edge overlooking nature. Not an "ocean view" type deal like a hotel will claim, rather an unobstructed. "you have no way to not look at the ocean type view". Not only are you staring at the ocean all day from the newly renovated beautiful deck, you are a 5 minute walk in the other direction from the beach that abuts (or is part of) the Trinidad State Beach. This beach is easily the most beautiful I have seen on the north coast. Our 3 year old was in absolute awe of the sea life at low tide as well as the easy rock climbing to be had. The property is also right in town so you are a 7-10 minute walk to Murphy's grocery store and a wonderful breakfast place and coffee shop. You do not have to leave. The town: For those of you who have never heard of Trinidad you will love it. It does not have the old downtown shopping thing going on, rather it has seclusion w amenities and is close to the entire Redwood experience. It is the perfect north coast experience. I recommend without reservation for anyone, especially families w small children.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We visited with our baby between Christmas and new year's. We had seen the pictures and read the reviews, but we couldn't believe our eyes when we woke up in the morning. The views are just amazing! We enjoyed the moonlight on the porch, the view from the master bedroom is breathtaking, something you only see in the movies and the house is very comfortable and has everything one needs. We had two great dinners nearby at Larrupin and Moonstone Grill. We did one hike, but there are lots of beautiful ones around. We just got lazy and the house was so comfortable and beautiful that we spent a lot of time at the house. We highly recommend staying here.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

Look no further for the most incredible house!!! I have rented quite a few VRBO houses and NONE even come close to being as beautiful as this one in every way. The house and views are even better than the pictures. There is nothing missing that you will need, the owners have thought of everything. They have spared no expense to stock this house. My grandson who is 4 1/2 said he never wanted to leave and wanted to live in a house like this. The beautiful views are seen throughout the house and are to die for. The house is close to everything including the Redwood National Forest with hiking trails for everyone and we saw lots of Elk. If the weather was bad and we had to stay indoors I would not have cared and been content to just sit in the house and I have never said this about any other place I have rented.. My only complaint was the lack of places to eat. Almost every restaurant in Trinidad was closed so it made it hard to eat out. The market in town was OK but not great. So my suggestion is bring some good food to cook or plan on traveling to other towns to eat which are at least 30 minutes away. Look no further for a better rental. Save yourself time looking and rent this place fast you will NEVER regret this rental, it is money well spent!!!!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We came up to Trinidad after a series of stressful work weeks, and it was the perfect antidote! The house is cozy and impeccably clean, and the kitchen has everything one could hope for in a home-away-from-home. Some of us explored the trails nearby, while others found that building a fire and watching the seals relax on the rocks in the harbor was a terrific way to unwind. The house is only a short drive to a couple of beautiful redwood parks, and is only a block from the HSU Marine Laboratory and its interesting displays of local sea life, so there's lots to do (or not do! :-) Thanks for your helpful suggestions, and for sharing this lovely house with us - we'll be back!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Most beautiful home and views of Trinidad coast! Our family of 6 - which includes 3 teenage boys and a ten year old daughter-were so excited by the home, yard, deck, views (sunset over the ocean out front and moon rise over the ocean out back), location to hiking trails and beach, amenities (iPod docking station, wifi and cable TV-for them- plus a gas grill, fully stocked kitchen and laundry facilities- for me) and the comfy, welcoming decor! Thank you for making our stay in Trinidad one of our most treasured family vacations!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights along with some friends. The house is immaculate and tastefully decorated throughout. The kitchen is well stocked and the view is fantastic. The property owner was helpful with information about the area and suggestions for dinner and hiking. We loved everything about this rental. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Trinidad.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We have been to the coast several times but this was the best trip yet! The house is beautiful and the beds were more comfortable than our own. Plenty of room, well furnished kitchen, and spectacular views! We saw sea lions, starfish, pelicans, and seagulls every day from the huge deck. We also were able to see the boats coming in and out of the harbor and thanks to the provided tripod mounted binoculars, we could even see the fish being pulled from the boats. Walking distance to shops, the harbor, the Seascape Restaurant, and the beach. Short drive to trails, other beaches, and shopping. We recommend the Elk viewing park, Ladybird Johnson Park and the Loleta Cheese Factory. You can't go wrong with this vacation rental!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities.

We had 3 couples and a toddler staying at the house for 8 days and it was fantastic. Family time could be spent walking on the beach, hiking local trails, or just short drives to many other attractions. The house is gorgeous. Each bedroom has very comfortable bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and baking tools. We made most of our meals at the house while watching the ocean from the balcony. There is an outdoor grill and extensive gardens. We Identified an number of birds from our balcony and could watch the seals on the rocks below. The house is looking straight down on the shore, there is no road or other house you have to look over. We spent a lot time just amazed at the view. There is also wifi, a iPod/CD sound system, games, books, even a netflicks account to go along with the wide screen TV and blu-ray player. Everything was clean and everything you could ask for was there. I still remember falling asleep to the waves on shore. It was a truly enjoyable getaway for our extended family.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway.

Even though we're "locals," we decided to rent this wonderful home for a little romantic getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday. Lovely gardens, AMAZING views, fully stocked kitchen, deliciously comfortable bed, gorgeous art, and did I mention the VIEW ~ absolutely stunning. We spent our days enjoying the deck, watching the fishing boats go in and out, reading to the sound of the waves, sipping wine at sunset, and thoroughly relaxing. We can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This North Coast house is as good as it gets. The view picture on the website is truly what you look at from the deck, living room, dining area, and master suite. The owners have also furnished the house with beautiful artwork, a very full kitchen, great books and music. From here, you are a short drive to the Redwood parks and lots of beaches. Nearby, a small college town has lots of nice shops and good restaurants. From the house you can walk down to the beach to the Marina and have some chowder. We are coming back soon.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
