GREAT LOCATION is everything: you will be staying just a couple of miles to Garden of the Gods, Historic Manitou Springs, Cliff Dwellings, Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak Cog Rail, Miramont Castle, Ghost Town Museum, trails, parks, scenic drives, etc.

The COTTAGE has a great "PICTURE" WINDOW in the living room with a GRAND VIEW OF PIKES PEAK. Beautiful wood paneling creates a "LOG CABIN" appearance in the BREAKFAST nook/kitchen.

Enjoy COMFORTABLE ITALIAN LEATHER FURNITURE in the Living Room, GRANITE COUNTER TOPS in the kitchen, beautifully furnished and decorated THREE PRIVATE BEDROOMS, FORMAL DINING for eight persons. All beds are covered with hypoallergenic zippered mattress protectors and all pillows are covered with Clean Air liners for allergy and stain protection.

FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN has an electric stove/oven, an overhead microwave, as well as a dishwasher and a garbage disposal for your convenience. The door off the breakfast room leads to the large fenced backyard with a PATIO. You will find there a patio furniture set for six, a huge umbrella and a BBQ grill.

There are two private entrances, lighted off-street parking for 1-2 cars(other cars can safely park on the street in front of the house).
We have smoke detectors installed for your safety. There is a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink.

KING SOOPERS and WALGREENS is a walking distance, and SAFEWAY is a 3 min drive from the cottage.

OLD COLORADO CITY is the oldest city in the Pikes Peak Region. Established in 1859 and designated the first capital of the Colorado Territory in 1861, it was annexed to Colorado Springs in 1917 and restored as Colorado Springs' only Historic District in 1977.

You will be a few minutes from the entrance of GARDEN OF THE GODS, magnificent towering sandstone red rock formations, a 1,364-acre national landmark visible from many points in the city.

The INDIAN CLIFF DWELLINGS near by is a rare historical treasure. Preserved under a red sandstone overhang, authentic Anasazi cliff dwellings ruins(c.1100 - 1300 A.D.) provide a great setting for the Indian dancers who perform from June through August.

Drive the Pikes Peak Highway, hike the Barr Trail, or ride the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the 14,110 ft. summit for breathtaking view.
Take a tour at Miramont Castle(Historic Victorian museum featuring nine styles of architecture), Cave of the Winds, and Cliff Dwellings Museum.

Nearby are the US Air Force Academy(12 min), US Olympic Training Center( 10 min), historic Broadmoor Hotel, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo , and the Flying W Ranch. Within an hour's drive are the Royal Gorge Bridge & Railroad, the gold mining town of Cripple Creek, Florissant Fossil Beds with its huge petrified redwoods and incredibly detailed fossils of ancient insects and plants.
Kids will be delighted to visit North Pole/Santa's Workshop, a Christmas Themed Family Amusement Park.

  • We had a wonderful time in Old Colorado City and would happily recommend your home to anyone vacationing in the area. The house was extremely close to many area attractions and fully equipped with everything we needed to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for the t-shirts and breakfast basket in the kitchen; these were little touches that made a huge difference to us.   • Colorado was amazing in the fall. We checked out 'cave of the winds', and walked all over Manitou Springs and Old Colorado and much more. We were very busy. Thank you for the comfort of a wonderful home. It was really a home away from home. The perfect place, and our son really enjoyed the toys and the books.

  • We hung out at the pool down the street the first night. We enjoyed the cabin ("Cozy" - my son pronounced it). We went to Pike's Peak and the cave (can't recall it's name). We ate downtown and played skeeball at the arcade. We also went rafting. We tried out the mineral springs water. All in all, we had an excellent time. Thanks for everything.

  • The stay was wonderful. I love the town of Manitou. It really brought us into the past. I did not expect the such a retro atmosphere. Very relaxing and peaceful. The location of your cabin was perfect. We found all of the back roads from your property such as El Paso Road taking us to Garden of the Gods. And Washington taking us up to HWY 24 to gain access to The Ancient Ruins and Cave of the Winds. We did not realize that the North Pole was closed at this time so we were a little bummed about that but we found the arcade in town. We went there a couple of times and my kids really enjoyed themselves. We went swimming in the public pool near by. Old Colorado City was nice. We ate a the Pizza restaraunt there. Really good but a bit expensive. My wife said that her favorite meal was at Charlie's Pit BBQ. We did a lot of cooking at home too, though. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home.
