I stayed at this property for 6 days and it was accurately described. The price was fair for the accomidations and everything was clean and well kept. The proximity of this house to local attractions was a big sell for me. It was very easy to find my way around Colorado Springs and it is really a beautiful area.I appreciate that a home such as this is available to travellers, making a vacation so much more comfortable. I would be happy to stay here again if I return to the area.
Owner response:Dear Kathleen: Thank you so much for your review. Positive reviews keep us going! We are lucky to have a great location, a quiet street and a great view. I will send you a list of properties we manage. We hope to see you again soon. Julia

We recently stayed at this property and couldn't be happier with our stay. We have two elementary-aged kids and the house gave us the space we needed, along with the convenience of a full kitchen, a yard, and room for all of us to spread out. The location couldn't be better--really only 5-10 minutes from most of the tourist attractions in the area. It's also very close to a grocery store, which was handy. The remodeled bathroom is a plus, as is the washer and dryer. The owners were always great about answering my emails in a timely manner, and were very polite and courteous. I highly recommend this property.
Owner response:Thank you so much for your review. We will be happy to accommodate you again. Julia

Julia, Thank you for the stay and it accommodated us perfectly for our needs. It is close to the World Arena and Colorado College Ice Rink. We will rebook for next years competition but will let you know. We also forwarded an e-mail link to one of the board members at the Broadmoor Figure Skating club so that if a skater is coming in and they don't want to stay in a hotel they have other options. Thank you again, Sharon

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely weekend at the Pikes Peak Cottage - it was exactly as described, very clean, peaceful and had all amenities for a great weekend getaway. The views were beautiful and the location was fantastic - in close proximity to all attractions, downtown Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs, and major highways. We did a lot of sightseeing. No visit to Colorado Springs is complete without a trip to the summit of Pikes Peak, and a great way to get to the summit is the Pikes Peak Cog Railroad. The ride is relaxing and scenic. We visited Garden of the Gods - a wonderful place to check out the unique rock formations in the area. Great views of Pike's Peak, and great trails for easy hiking with families. And best of all....FREE! We would feel comfortable recommending Pikes Peak Cottage to anyone and would happily stay there again. Thank you very much!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pikes Peak Cottage. We could not have found a better place to stay: it is located right by two historic towns of Old Colroado City and Manitou Springs. All attractions are so close to the cottage! We visited Garden of the Gods a few times. It was absolutely gorgeous. The red rocks against the beautiful clear blue sky was incredible. There were many very easy hiking trails. We had a great time enjoying this beautiful state park. It is definitely a "must-see" for anyone visiting Colorado Springs. I love the Historic District of Old Colorado City. They have so many shops down there and it's a great place to walk around. I did a little research on the history of the town and there are tunnels built under the street and shops that gentlemen used to use to get the the red light district that used to be on Cucharras street. It's has a very southwest feel and Colorado Ave. runs into Manitou Springs which is also a nice place to walk around. We had a very good time at the cottage. We enjoyed a beautiful view of Pikes Peak from the living room and the front yard. You can see Pikes Peak from everywhere. Cozy living room and a lot of comfortable places to sit. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The bathroom was just remodeled! thank you for the welcome basket - my husband loves chocolate! If we come back to Colorado Springs we would stay here again. We had a great vacation. Thank you so much!

What a peaceful & cozy place to be. It was one of the coziest places that I have been to. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Wonderful neighborhood to walk in. We saw deer one morning on our walk . Everything seemed so peaceful. A very spacious backyard for our dogs. They loved the "dog park" that was just a bit down the road. Highly recommended to anyone that is stressed out. This was a stress free vacation for us. It is a very quiet neighborhood. I can't wait to go back again. Looking at Pike's Peak everyday in itself was just breath taking!

We had a very nice time in this home. It was very convenient to everything that we wanted to visit in the area. The home was comfortable for 6 adults and was located in a nice quiet location. It would be a great place if you have a small child as there are lots of toys/crib/high chair available for your use and the backyard is fenced in. We ate the majority of our meals out since there are so many wonderful restaurants in the area, however the kitchen is well stocked with anything you would need to cook for yourself. We would stay here again.

"The listing for this property are not accurate. The property was not clean, well-maintained, and did not have the simple amenities that the rental property was advertised to have. There were NO cleaning supplies, dish rags, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, paper towels, and only a few rolls of toilet paper for a two week stay. The house is in sub-standard condition. The tile in the upstairs bathroom was moldy, several light bulbs were burned out, the railings were loose, and the cabinet in the kitchen fell off (almost onto my son's head). We purchased new hinges and fixed it for them. We also purchased and replaced the light bulbs that were out. The deadbolt on the front door did not work. One of the two decks that are advertised have been out of order all year, due to rot – the back deck. We were assured that there was fishing in the lake and that we could ride our ATV's from the porch - neither of these things were true. The cabin sits in the middle of forest where the Haywood fire was. So, nearly all the trees are burned down. It was a very depressing sight. We cleaned the house, spotless, and the owner kept my whole deposit. For NO REASON. She finds little things that aren't true and will withhold your deposit. The owner has terrible customer service. I would not recommend renting this cabin to anyone. "
Owner response:* The guest confused this property with a totally different property. This property is very clean and well-maintained. We have just remodeled the bathroom - it is beautiful. * Dish-washing soap, dish rags, a new sponge for dishes, paper towels and at least two or three rolls of toilet paper are always supplied. We also provide a complimentary breakfast basket. * There are no decks, just a concrete patio in the privacy fenced backyard. The cottage is located in Old Colorado City, a historic town that is a part of Colorado Springs now. It is within 5 blocks to historic district and less than 2 miles to Garden of the Gods. * Please see numerous positive comments from other guests or contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Our stay at the house was perfect in every way. Our first morning there we walked into town, it was early on Sunday so everything was closed but we got to do a lot of window shopping, then drove up to the Pikes Peak railway, and got on a train just leaving forthe summit, so although we weren't dressed for the cold, windy peak, we had a fun introduction to the whole breathtaking area. By the time we got back to town, it was warming up and we had brunch at Adam's cafe and got to see a bit of the touristy stream of people enjoying Manitou Springs. It was fun just being able to walk about town and talk to the shopkeepers (everyone so friendly and helpful). We did all the local stops, Garden of the Gods, Seven Waterfalls, the Airforce Academy, etc. and thoroughly enjoyed them all, including a beautiful snowfall one day. Our conference at Focus on the Family was well timed to enjoy all the spectacular scenery of fall without the crowds. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful week.

We had a wonderful time in Old Colorado City and would happily recommend your home to anyone vacationing in the area. The house was extremely close to many area attractions and fully equipped with everything we needed to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for the t-shirts and breakfast basket in the kitchen; these were little touches that made a huge difference to us. Thank you again for everything that you did to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We hope to return in the future.

Colorado was amazing in the fall. We checked out 'cave of the winds', and walked all over Manitou Springs and Old Colorado and much more. We were very busy. Thank you for the comfort of a wonderful home. It was really a home away from home. The perfect place, and our son really enjoyed the toys and the books.

We hung out at the pool down the street the first night. We enjoyed the cabin ("Cozy" - my son pronounced it). We went to Pike's Peak and the cave (can't recall it's name). We ate downtown and played skeeball at the arcade. We also went rafting. We tried out the mineral springs water. All in all, we had an excellent time. Thanks for everything.

The stay was wonderful. I love the town of Manitou. It really brought us into the past. I did not expect the such a retro atmosphere. Very relaxing and peaceful. The location of your cabin was perfect. We found all of the back roads from your property such as El Paso Road taking us to Garden of the Gods. And Washington taking us up to HWY 24 to gain access to The Ancient Ruins and Cave of the Winds. We did not realize that the North Pole was closed at this time so we were a little bummed about that but we found the arcade in town. We went there a couple of times and my kids really enjoyed themselves. We went swimming in the public pool near by. Old Colorado City was nice. We ate a the Pizza restaraunt there. Really good but a bit expensive. My wife said that her favorite meal was at Charlie's Pit BBQ. We did a lot of cooking at home too, though. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home. We had a wonderful vacation. Warmest regards, Y.D.

Hello Julia, Just a quick note of thanks from the cabin at end of our first week. Everything is great, we're well settled in and no problems found with anything. Weather as you probably know is good meaning we've been out and about, up to Victor/Cripple Creek, Mueller State Park, joined the local library, met people at Black Cat Books etc, found local Safeway etc and lots walks into downtown Manitou. We managed to get broadband internet access (as you can see !) on a wifi hook up. Parked my big rental truck outside the cabin without problems. Just sitting on your deck now looking at the mountain views in the sunshine. Have taken some digital pics of cabin inside and out, will send when get chance. We're not flying out to DFW till October 15th now so if it comes free we'll rent it the nights of Oct 11th to 14th also. If its booked up or your using it no worries we're just moving down the hill to stay the last few nights with the kids. Best Wishes/t & p. Solihull, England, UK.

Julia, We had an awesome time! We loved staying in Manitou Springs and being so close to all the things we had on our list to see. Pikes Peak (via Cog Railway), Seven Falls and Garden of the Gods. We also went to the Air Force Academy and Focus on the Family...We have been long time listeners of this program and our boys have many of the Adventures in Oddessey CD that they have listened to for years. All these places are a must see for the first time visitor to the Colorado Springs area. On our way home we stopped at the Royal Gorge where my youngest son (11) dared to go fly on the Sky Coaster. Unforgetable! Your cabin was very nice!! We loved having our morning coffee as we sat out on the deck looking out over Manitou Springs. Rick and I often commented on the fact that we would not have found a nicer or more convenient place to stay in Colorado Springs. Your cabin was clean and inviting, your kitchen had everything we needed to cook (loved the Forman Grill). The beds were comfortable! The neighborhood was very quiet. We loved walking the streets of Manitou Springs and looking in all the different culture type shops. We had the BEST time on this family vacation and are so thankful for your hospitality in making our vacation one we will always remember. We so appreciated all the details you thought of in making our stay enjoyable...like the gift basket, binnoculars, the information binder, the beautiful bedding set for our room and the chocolate. Thanks Julia for your part in making our time in Manitou Springs memorable!! M & R

Yes, we had a wonderful time! Thank you very much for making it so easy for us to check in and check out. I felt like home, it was cozy and I am actually missing the place! We appreciated the Art Fest in Manitou Springs. We walked downtown one evening and had brunch there, too on Sunday. It was very enjoyable. We are actually thinking about reserving the place again. That’s about all. I hope that you didn’t find any problems from us. Thank you again, L. Sincerely, Lori

We enjoyed our stay at Pikes Peak Cabin so much! What a sweet, cozy, well appointed little place. The kitchen had anything we could possibly need in the way of small appliances, which was fun. The view from the deck was lovely. We enjoyed breakfast on the pretty patio set in the morning and in the evening it was neat to watch the thunderstorms out over the mountains. Everything looked new and clean. The newlyweds were very blessed by your gift of champagne and chocolate! All your little gift baskets and breakfast foods were very much appreciated by us all. If we come out again, we will hope the place is available. Again, thank you for all the thoughtful little touches you provided. It made our stay so pleasant. I was glad we got to meet you on that first day, also. Thanks, B.
