it was just magical. no words can describe the detail and perfection of this place. beautiful decorated. The only thing i would change would be the vehicle i would bring next time since the house is deep in Cherry lake. SUV or small truck is needed and we did get lost but and adventure not to forget. I will be coming back. Barbara thank you for sharing this magical place
Owner response:HI, Sorry you got lost, but if you follow my directions instead of your GPS which takes you on Joanne Sisson Rd. Take Lucious RD and go up the mountain it is paved all the way to my cabin. I take my little Honda up there all the time. Thank you for staying with us... it is a wonderful place to veg out, get away and enjoy nature. And, it you take the paved road, only 12 minutes into the great little town of Blue Ridge.

Barbara, I'm sorry it took so long for me to write. We soooooo loved your cabin, where it was and everything about the area. When we went out and came back to the cabin, it was like I was coming home. I adapted so fast to it. It is truly a treasure you found in your life. I hope you can still enjoy it for the wonderful comfort and joy it brings. It brought me both in that short period of time. Thank you so much for sharing, and I will be back. My husband and I rented this cabin for our 5 Year Anniversary and had a wonderful time. It is so clean and well-decorated. We loved having the doors to the porch open and listening to the rain with a fire going. Barbara is excellent to work with and made everything so easy. There were even candles to enjoy and a bottle of wine for us. We will be renting again as soon as we can. Thank you again for sharing it with us!

My parents, husband, and myself rented this cabin for a long weekend after Thanksgiving. It was perfect! Everything we needed was thought of ahead of time. I loved having my coffee outside on the deck (bundled up!) in the morning. We saw about 4 deer, one of them was a youngster...so cute. It's a short drive to the town of Blue Ridge. We went to dinner at the Toccoa Riverside restaurant, rode the Scenic Railway and enjoyed the quaint downtown. The cabin was relaxing and comfortable, we even enjoyed the rainy day we had, building a fire and spending the day reading. It's ideal for two couples, with a bedroom and bathroom on each level. Everything was beautiful inside and out. We will be back!

Absolutely charming and serene. The cabin wanted for nothing. We can't wait to go back to this beautiful cabin with waterfall and serenity inside and out!!
Owner response:So glad you enjoyed your stay. I finally got up there last week and had a wonderful trip myself. Mercier Orchard was in full swing and I picked up bags of apples for family and friends. Downtown Blue Ridge was awesome with some new great restaurants, and as always the people in the shops are so warm and friendly. Did some Christmas shopping and if you are into wine, some of the the best wine shops around. Always so wonderful to come back to the cabin with our goodies and have some wine by the fireplace. Sure miss that in Florida.

Everything was just as Barbara said it would be! When we arrived and walked across the rock bridge past the waterfall (absolutely fabulous) there was not a leaf on any of the rocks or in the pond between our car and the porch at the entrance. We just looked at each other and opended the door to the most immaculate, cozy, clean, comfortable real log cabin you could dream of!! We are clean freaks and we did not find a speck of dust, dirt, etc., in the cabin or on the screened deck as we inspected this fantastic cabin. The managers, Jim and Debi, take pride in presenting you with the cleanest cabin you will find, and they even picked up our garbage twice so we did not have to transport it to the recycling drop in Ellijay. Everything was in working order including right down to every light bulb in every lamp. The linens were the best, icemaker worked great, washer & dryer and dishwasher were quiet, furniture was comfy inside & out, etc, etc, etc. A free bottle of wine and firewood in the winter. The only problem we have is that Barbara keeps in rented, so we will have to make our arrangements well in advance, which we intend to do!

My sister and I took our first annual birthday/sister trip and it was fantastic. The cabin is so warm and inviting, and comfortable! If you forget something don't worry. Chances are, Barbara has thought of it for you. Basically, all the conveniences of home and then some, just with a much better view! :) We went shopping in Blue Ridge. Such a beautiful and friendly little town. Also, on our last morning we got to see a black BEAR! He walked right by the dining room window and helped himself to the trash cans. Our trash was not very interesting, but we did manage to get some great video of him. It was so exciting! Needless to say, we will be back next year!

We loved Little Big Sky. It was by far the best cabin we have rented. You obviously put a lot of thought and effort into furnishing and decorating it. Love the art, lamps, rugs-everything. I was content to just sit out on the outside patio with a book and listen to the waterfall. And you did not overdo the "bear thing"! I know it must be beautiful there in the Fall and hopefully, we won't be too late the see it.

Barbara! Your cabin was absolutely charming and very well-equipped! Thanks for allowing us to share it. My compliments to how you furnished it, including equipping the kitchen with more than just the basics (blender, complete knife set, toaster oven, etc.)... we used the kitchen both nights and mornings because we enjoy cooking so much. We hiked, fished the river off of Aska Rd., drove an off-road trail behind Hiawassee I knew of (follows the river that feeds into Lake Burton), and just flat-out relaxed. Sure was nice. Thanks so much.

My husband and I just returned from a stay at the cabin. It was just what we were looking for- - a clean, cozy cabin with a pretty view of the mountains. The cabin is stocked with all the essentials and has that "extra something special" that makes it feel welcoming- - a waterfall and pond, nice, comfortable furnishings and just a great place to relax and get away from the "hustle and bustle" of everyday life. It snowed on the mountain while we were there- - beautiful! After visiting the shops in Blue Ridge, we went back to the cabine, built a fire, curled up on the sofa and watched it fall- perfect!

03-04-11 Cabin exceeded expectations, the only thing you need to bring is your main meal all condiments and staples provided. You cross over the stepping stone into a enchanted cabin. Firewood was provided, with a wonderful view of the mountains even on a cloudy day. The owners have thought of everything that you will need to make your stay comfortable and complete including backpacks and walking sticks. The area was convenient to downtown Blue Ridge with its Arts and Crafts stores, Mercier Orchard was a great place to pick up fried pies and jams. Took HWY 60 and followed Toccoa River over to Dahlonaga loved the antiques. Oh and a day at Amicola Falls definitly a sight to see. The owner has a book with the area attractions all mapped out for you. Would definitly recommend this cabin for a weekend getway.

What a beautiful place! The home and immediate surroundings, the drive, the area around Blue Ridge! I have stayed at numerous places in the North Carolina mountains, but none compared to this. The tranquility and utter silence, save for the wonderful waterfall - the views - close-in of beautiful, swaying trees, then long-range, of purple-blue mountains, ever-changing, depending on whether in shadow or sunlight.... We had a wondrful time exploring Amicalola Falls and park, and Brasstown Bald, the tallest mountain in Georgia. Mercier Orchards apple farm and market was wonderful - although as we came into town on Highway 52, we passed through an area called, I think, Apple Orchard Alley - where there were numerous smaller farms and markets that would've been fun to explore also. Downtown Blue Ridge was great, with many cool shops to explore, and some of the nicest people running them. But the best thing was waking up, or coming home to, the perfect combination of comfort and peace. The fireplace was great on cool nights - the multiple porches and decks fantastic for enjoying the sights and scents of the outside. Very secluded and quiet, yet with neighbors not far away. A fun drive up the mountain road, and then a completely comfortable sanctuary. We didn't even eat out the whole time. It was too nice fixing meals in the kitchen or on the grill. The more we looked around, the more we noticed the attention to detail in the decor, and the more we liked everything, which is pretty good, considering we loved it all at first sight. It is my deepest hope that we will be able to return someday and enjoy this perfect home away from home that the hosts have made for their guests.

Harry and I would like to thank you for sharing your mt. home w/us. The cabin - "little big sky" is absolutely marvelous! The sound of water from the waterfall, the smell of pine when you walk into the cabin, your "spot on" decor...and the views helped us in enjoying one of our best vacations ever! We immediatly felt the "serenity" that you had mentioned in VRBO. Your thoughtfulness is so special! Enjoyed the wine rack, terry robes, bath sheets, hair dryer, etc. Much less to pack next visit! Loved meeting Jim and Debbie...what treasures. They shared lots of helpful info w/ us. We hated leaving "Little Big Sky"! You have succeeded in creating the perfect mt. retreat. We relaxed and reenergized all at once! Crazy good! We are already trying to decide which season we would like to experience next! Thank you, also, for being so understanding and helpful w/ our last minute changes.

Love Blue Ridge and "Little Big Sky". It was our first "mt" vacation. We found that the photos of the cabin and description were indeed accurate. The cabin made our trip to Blue Ridge absolutely unforgetable. We enjoyed hiking, golfing, white water rafting, nearby vineyards and fabulous dining in Blue Ridge. The cabin was spotless and very well appointed. Barbara and Jim were thoughtful in adding many unexpected extras. Barbara was so accommadating and helpful! We are planning our next stay already. Would love to try all seasons! We have recommended "Little Big Sky"to friends, hesitantly. We want it all to ourselves! Thank you both for sharing your beautiful mt. home with us.

My sister and I travel once a year together and this year we had the joy of staying at this "awesome" home in the mountains. The accomodations were very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The decor was classy, kitchen well stocked, wonderful screened-in porch which we enjoyed meals on, watched a refreshing rainstorm and marveled at the mountain views. The pond and waterfall was especially a nice bonus. It was very quiet and peaceful and it was very difficult to have to leave. The owner, Barbara, was wonderful to work with. We most certainly would love to return in the future. It far exceeded our expectations.

Thank you so much. We had a wonderful time and the cabin was exactly what we were looking for and then some. We hiked several parts of the Benton McKay? trail, it was beautiful. We took your advice and had lunch at the Tocca restaurant and it was great. The town was having a art festival so that was an added benefit. Thanks again and I hope to come back again in the future.

My brother and I had a terrific time at the cabin. It’s easy to get to and not far off the main road, which was nice, and it was very convenient to Epworth, where our aunt and uncle live. As I told you, we come up to that area a couple of times a year, and so far have always rented different cabins. We will definitely keep the information on your cabin for future trips, though, as we enjoyed it very much. We did hike down to the trail a couple of times, and relished the long walks. We loved the decks, and the fireplace, and everything. The weather was a perfect change for us!

We had a great time at your cabin and I would like to thank you so much for all the amenities that were provided! It was so nice to be able to build a real fire and relax by it, the waterfall outside the bedroom was awesome, it sounded like it was raining all the time! We also enjoyed Blue Ridge very much, we went to Amicalola Falls, mountainbiked out at Carter Lake, ate at Taccoa Resturaunt (the trout was awesome), bought steaks at Buck’s a grilled them, just to name a few highpoints, all in all it was a great trip and we would love to come back in the near future! Thanks, Brad

Dear Barbara & Jim,I just wanted to let you know that our trip to your cabin was great! As soon as we walked in the cabin we fell in love with it.I haven't felt as relaxed while being on vacation in a long time.We even went white water rafting while we were there and had a ball. Anita and I hope to to be able to live in an area like that when we retire in 5 years. i don't think we will be going to Florida for a long time for a vacation because we have found this wonderful place. We look forward to going back in the october! Thanks again,

What a wonderful place to get a way to. We enjoyed our four days very much. We did a lot of the local activities and enjoyed driving in the country side. We made a trip to the river to see the site of the Olympic event for Kyaking. This is a beautiful place to visit and the cabin was just wonderful. Everything that we could need was provided and I had a hard time getting my husband off the porch. But then again I spend alot of time out there also. I would recommend this rental highly.

This fabulous cabin offers a heavenly retreat. It is absolutely beautiful and has everything you could possibly ask for. The surrondings are gorgeous and you can be as busy or relaxed as you wish to be. The location is terrific as it is easy to take day trips, if you are so inspired, to attractions in NC or TN. There is also plenty to do and see right in Blue Ridge. The owners provide a wonderful book of information to make it easy to see what is available in the area. This is a vacation paradise that one would want to re-visit many times!

Quiet, first class cabin in a beautiful location. The interior was decorated very tastefully and the cabin seemed brand new. The porches and decks afforded many opportunities for spending time relaxing outside taking in the views and listening to the small waterfall that runs under the entry path. Walking trails just down the hill below the cabin and plenty of games and books to keep you occupied (we hardly turned on the TV) 5 minutes to Blue Ridge once off the mountain. Stop by the Chamber of Commerce next to the Burger King for plenty of info on sights and activities. Great weekend!

We recently returned from this beautiful cabin in the sky! If you're looking for heaven, this is as close as it can be. If your looking for a peaceful place to recharge from the hectic grind, this is it! Everthing you need is there, just add your clothes, groceries, good book and yourself! Most of all it is CLEAN and fresh smelling!!! Some places smell like dog and are not clean. We've been renting in the mountains for over 20 years and this got our 5 star rating! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin.
