The "OLD KOLOA HOUSE" is a beautifully-restored, historic, plantation-style home and was a working bed and breakfast that has only recently become a vacation rental. The home is approximately 1575 square feet and it has a laundry room and all new appliances and completely new furnishings since September 2005!!!
It sits on the Waikomo Stream near world-famous Poipu Beach! There are plenty of activities within a short distance including scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing and kayaking. The property has beautiful gardens with plenty of privacy. There are two decks and a front porch. There are two sets of snorkelling gear, boogie boards (2), soft 8' surfboard (great for beginners!) and beach chairs for use. The island is abundant with wild roosters and chickens and geckos are plentiful! We have a bull frog we affectionately named da "donkey-frog" that watches over the property @ Old Koloa House too!
There is parking for up to four cars. The home has original hardwood flooring and there are two TVs and a small one in the kitchen. Coconut palm trees, banana trees, citrus trees for your mai-tai's and plenty of ginger, hibiscus, orchids, and other beautiful surroundings on this expansive private property!
The deck off the kitchen is wonderful for relaxing and having coffee/breakfast. It is south-facing and it has mountain views and is my favorite place to be in the morning. There is a gazebo in the rear of the property and it is a great place to barbecue and relax in the afternoon or anytime!

Why the Owner Chose Koloa
This pristine, fun and adventurous Island was in my dreams for over 40 years prior to purchasing it. The aloha that is felt while on the tropical island of Kauai cannot be reproduced anywhere else in the world!
The Unique Benefits at this
There are so many activies and outdoor unique things to see on this pristine island! From the snorkeling, surfing, kayaking,hiking, fishing, scuba diving, waterfalls, beaches and much much more! The restaurants are superb with "The Beach House" being our favorite and being there enjoying pupu's and a mai tai at sunset is an awesome experience every time we go! We never tire of the many culinary experiences such as "Roy's" restaurant in Poipu Shopping center with their incredible sauces with the "sampler" with ahi and other yummy delectibles being one of our favorites! Walk to Old Koloa Town for necessities! Pizza, burgers, groceries and the Koloa Fish Market are what keep us going just a short walk from home!

I am a La Jolla, California native who visited the Tropical island of Kauai for many years as a child and as an adult. It was always my dream to own a piece of paradise that would feel like "old Hawaii" and be away from the hustle and bustle of every day life! I found it in 2005 when I purchased "The Old Koloa House". I enjoy sharing my home with visitors who want to "feel the aloha" of the island and who feel as though they never wanted to leave the island and return every year for vacation. My home is full of character and I think of it often and always have a visit planned before I leave the island for the mainland.
I hope you will feel the love or "aloha" that comes from my home and just being in such a tropical paradise!
