Burch Street Casitas are just one and-a-half miles from Carson National Forest. These four, cozy 525-square-foot units feature southwestern-style architecture in a private compound. Casitas are conveniently located near the Plaza, shops, galleries, restaurants, and Kit Carson House. We offer pleasant relaxation indoors with all the comforts of home. Outdoors under a canopy of tall Chinese Elm trees are private patios and private off-street parking, just a few feet from your arched front door and portal.

Casitas come with saltillo-tiled radiant floor heat throughout. The custom tongue-and-groove natural paneling and cross-beamed ceilings, along with the large windows and glass-wall blocks lend a light and airy ambiance. Decorated with contemporary southwest furnishings each casita invites its guests to relax before the warmth of a large wood-burning fireplace. Tastefully appointed nichos, attractive wall hangings, and talavera tile kitchen counter accents complete your home away from home.

  • ?The beautiful Burch Street Casitas, or little homes, are nestled under towering 200 year old Cottonwood trees on private property. The Casitas may be only four-years old but are loaded with Old World charm. They are light and airy with lots of windows to let in the New Mexico light and dramatic shadows. A separate door leads to a spacious-covered patio and the shady yard, perfect for morning coffee or settling in with a book. The hosts, Jim and Nancy, are former city folks and such a nice couple. Jim, a chef by trade, told us they designed the Casitas to be “What we like when we travel.” The Casitas are very comfortable - more like a little home. They are on a quiet residential street three easy blocks from town. Almost like being in the country - no traffic noise or lights at night. Clean, up to date, relaxed. Each has a fully-equipped kitchen, stacked washer/dryer, cable TV, and comfortable bed and bedding. The kitchen was perfect because we like fixing breakfast in rather than going out every morning. A couple of nights after long museum and gallery treks, we heated up our restaurant leftovers and kicked back to watch a movie. The good-looking rough hewn fence separating the Casitas from the owners’ property gave us complete privacy and seclusion. (If you need something, however, Jim or Nancy would be there in a minute.) Santa Fe is a scenic hour and a half away, so we took a couple of day trips. It was nice to get back to Taos after the tourist chaos that is Santa Fe. The Burch Street Casitas are on our permanent Must-Stay List.
