  Dear Len, We enjoyed our vacation in your villa very well. Now we´re working in our practice and usual business keeps going on, but we were thinking very often about our beautiful stay at St. Lucia.

  Dear Len, We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed your fantastic property. It was perfect for us and I hope we can return some time in the future. We loved St Lucia and managed to see a lot of the island. The kids were not so fond of the "drive in volcano" mainly due to the smell but it was still an interesting experience. We all enjoyed the zip line-ing in the forest and exploring the many beaches. The climb up the Gros Piton was memorable ... all in all a great vacation. Velda was great and provided us with a lot of useful guidance and information about the island. The villa was ideal for us and we spent a lot of time around the pool and enjoying the view. It really is a beautiful location.Unfortunately we are back to work now and back to the cold here in Connecticut. Good luck with your travels in the UK, I hope you bring some St Lucian sunshine with you, they could do with it, as it has been a cold spring so far! Thank you once more for allowing us to stay in your fabulous property we had a wonderful time and have some great memories of St Lucia.

  Mixed feelings about Zandoli. We were surprised that there was no a.c., but that is our fault for not checking. It was closed up and quite hot when we arrived so we barely slept our 1st night. Even with ceiling fans/floor fans sleeping was hot all week. The mosquitos/sand fleas (or bed bugs) were crazy! Our party was absolutely riddled with bites from head to toe despite using bug spray and mosquito netting. The kids had bites on their eyelids. I wish I could post the pictures. Internet is not wireless with 1 connection. Beautiful views of Pigeon Island but the walk to the beach is not 5 minutes, more like 20 and its down a dangerous path behind the house. Len, the owner is very nice but very busy. It can be difficult to get a response. I had to send many follow-up emails. and we only received directions to the house, We had a small issue with the fridge and when we politely followed up with her 2 days later, she informed us that the "current renters" didn't have any issues. We WERE the current renters LOL. She arranged airport transfers for us that were double in price over what we found locally. $150 US each way vs. $80, so just be aware. The road to the villa is in terrible shape. If you rent a car make sure it is an SUV with clearance. Note to less mobile people or those with young children...no taxi would take us down the driveway due to how steep it is. This means you must carry all of your luggage, supplies and groceries up and down. Master bedrooms are VERY nice but the 3rd and 4th bedrooms are just OK. The 4th bedroom is accessed from outside only. Very disjointed, especially if you have children. The pool was very nice and the lower deck as well. The outdoor dining area was great and we had dinner there every night. The internet listing said daily maid service but in fact it is every other day. Not a big deal for us but just pointing it out. The listing also says laundry is included but Velda would lock the room when she left. Dishes etc, could use some updating but all in all a well equipped kitchen. . With everything being open air, you get some cute visits inside from the birds, lizards and tiny tree frogs. The kids loved that but also expect visits from the big roaches and large tarantula spiders, not so cute. Again, I wish I could post the photos. I wished I had noticed that most online reviews are guest excerpts posted by the owner herself not actual guest postings. A beautiful house that I would not return to nor recommend

  Owner response: I was startled to read this review not only because all others have been wonderful but because one would expect unhappy guests to complain during their stay. On the contrary the guest’s emails of 4th March five days after arrival painted a very different picture “Len, we love the house, we didn’t know about the voltage but we are getting along just fine”; on March 5th “Thank you Len. Again you have a wonderful spot here, and we are enjoying our stay very much”. I had offered this guest a lower rate when she indicated that it was above her budget and the housekeeper reported that the guests had a great stay. I contacted HomeAway/VRBO requesting to forward the entire correspondence between the guest and I for their review, however the team explained that they do not have a due diligence function, encouraging me to respond here. On 6th March via email the guest requested a late departure the next day. Zandoli is so popular we often have departures and arrivals on the same day but want our guests to be happy and always oblige when we can. My son was flying in from the USA for a short visit that day; I was using the villa and could not accommodate this request. The guest also asked that I arrange taxi transfer for friends from a hotel to the airport at a later date. I suggested that the friends use the taxis at the hotel since this was not a service I could provide. The guest’s emails became abrupt and angry. This guest and I corresponded a total of 58 times between December 11, 2012 and her departure on March 7th. 2013. My work requires lots of travel, yet I responded from Qatar, Dubai, Chile, NYC, London and STL. The laundry room was used daily. Emails to me during the stay spoke of the entire group having a great time (why request a longer stay in a villa infested with bugs and “saucer sized tarantulas” with children around?). Our rental agreement offers maid service 3 times/week and departure as 11 AM. At 84 my mom uses the path to the beach when she visits. Most of our guests are lovely people. They send back their friends and family, return for birthdays and anniversaries, and we feel incredibly lucky and special. I am happy that the young couple from Washington DC who visited March 14 to 21st a week later have sent a lovely note about their stay. I find it quick and easy to post guest comments on line with their permission, rather than ask that they write a review which requires more of their time.

  Well - I can only say we ABSOLUTELY LOVED Zandoli. What a great place - great home (and it did feel like home), great views, great weather, great everything! Little bits of rain always seemed to fall at times that didn't bother us at all. The kitchen was so well equipped with dishes and everything we could possibly need. Much better than ever expected. We cooked every single meal at Zandoli - sat on that wonderful balcony - ate like kings - and loved every minute of it! We did a Catamaran ride one day for 9 hours down to the Pitons and we also climbed Pigeon Island peak. We walked to the nearby beach a couple of times -- but the Zandoli pool was so perfect! It was all very wonderful. One thing - I never read a single email from home or work for the whole holiday. Never turned on my Blackberry either. It was great! I had never dared to do such a thing before. We would recommend Zandoli to anyone. My wife and I had been to St. Lucia a couple of years ago - just for a day - off the Queen Mary 2. So coming for a whole week was really terrific. We would come back anytime, and come back to Zandoli. The problem is there are just too many places to visit in the world. We have been to 60 countries now, and hope to reach 100 - so we must keep going! And we've already been to St. Lucia twice! Thanks again for a very wonderful holiday at Zandoli and in St. Lucia.   Len, We really had a fantastic time at Zandoli! Peter and Velda were so kind and helpful. Velda cooked us a wonderful meal one night and it was delicious! We called on Peter many times to either bring us groceries or take and pick us up. He took us to a local street dance Friday night and a Fish Fry on Saturday night. We are all in love with your island of St. Lucia. Hope all is well with you, Brinda.

  Dr. Len: We are finally settled back into our regular schedules in Milwaukee, Denver and Los Angeles after our recent vacation. Villa Zandoli is an absolutely magnificent estate, and we thank you for sharing it. Velda was amazing by meeting the needs of our large group; she is truly a treasure. Our family created so many memories of your beautiful island, joyful people, great food, beaches and snorkeling, etc. Even the crazy roads were an experience to remember.
