Accommodations:  Townhome, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible Bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 10)

Welcome to our gorgeous Hawaiian family home. Experience an amazingly peaceful, tranquil, two story townhouse looking out for miles along the Kona Coast. We have the most premier location available on the northern edge of our stunning, 4-star resort, Na Hale O Keauhou. Our backyard looks over a permanent nature preserve with sacred Hawaiian sites. Keauhou is famous for calm breezes, warm sunny days and flat, royal blue water. We thrive on the most consistently perfect weather on the Big Island!

Feel at home in our four year old hale with over 1700 sq ft of luxurious living space plus an attached, single car garage. It sits 40' above the sea and 1000' from water's edge. Enjoy unobstructed views of pure Hawaiian Mother Nature from either of our 20' wide lanais looking north and west from the deep blue Pacific to the top of the 8700' high volcano, Mt Hualalai.

Each room has high quality, comfortable, tropical furniture. For privacy there are custom designed sliding blinds to protect every window and sliding door in the house. Fill our vases with fresh and fragrant, exotic Hawaiian flowers. You'll feel at home here.

Awaken to the sound of song birds. Watch cardinals fly amongst the acres of golden brown and green foliage. Lounge on the lanais. Follow a yellow butterfly or watch a multi-colored gecko climb a wall. Lie on our thick green, grassy lawn. Hear the waves breaking on the offshore reef at Kahalu'u or walk down the hill to snorkel with the turtles.

The phenomenal downstairs tiled lanai is the focal point of sunny outdoor living. It has a beautiful, hand carved table made of old teak wood, with matching armchairs for eight adults. Cook a large dinner on the 5 burner BBQ as you sip your mango mai tai. On summer evenings, feast your eyes on the orange Kona sun as it sets into the sparkling Pacific.

The family room has a 42" plasma CABLE HDTV/DVD with 6 speaker stereo system. The super soft sectional couch has a double sleeper mattress. It can sleep 1-2 adults or 2 children quite nicely, especially with the 2" memory foam placed on top. Daytime naps are highly likely and recommended to all!

Our spacious living room is elegant yet comfortable. The cinnamon colored sofa will comfortably sleep two on the queen mattress and 2" memory foam. With matching chair, coffee table and end tables, this cool indoor gathering place will attract you to relax. It faces the family room and kitchen with scenic views out the lanai down to the sea.

The gourmet kitchen is high-end with Italian cabinetry, granite countertops, recessed lighting in the ceiling and under the cabinets. It has stainless steel GE Profile appliances and a full array of kitchenware, stoneware dishes with matching linens, crystal glassware, Heinkel cutlery and Circulon cookware. There's a cozy breakfast bar with a granite counter and 3 cushioned bar stools facing the kitchen. This place was designed to entertain.

Upstairs, the huge master bedroom has a 31" HDTV, gorgeous furniture with a California king pillow top bed, matching night stands, double dresser, settee and a large walk in closet. The attached master bathroom is beautiful with a large walk in shower (room for two...), a deep tub for one, a large granite countertop with two sinks, large mirrors and plush bath linens. Tropical flower arrangements, ocean views and an entry to the upstairs lanai complete the master bedroom.

Guests love our quiet 2nd upstairs bedroom. It has a stylish, four-poster, queen sized, pillow top mattress with a bas relief teak headboard, matching end tables and dresser. In the hall is a full bathroom with shower/tub, granite counter and single sink. The upstairs hall has a laundry room with washer/dryer and ironing board.

The 3rd BR serves as an office with PC, Wi-Fi, internet access, and printer. It has a brand new pillowtop queen sized mattress. Sit at the old teak desk. Look through the sliding glass doors to the upstairs lanai and its amazing scenery.

The covered, upstairs lanai has our best panoramic views. Relax on the padded chaise lounges or sit comfortably at the bistro table to enjoy your Kona coffee. This is our most private and quiet getaway spot.

It is a 10 minute walk to the Keauhou Shopping Center, with seven restaurants, KTA grocery store, car rental, post office, walk-in medical clinic, Long's Drugs and an 8 screen cinema. It has a wonderful Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning (pick up your fresh mangoes, papayas, bananas, exotic fruits, Kona coffee beans and fresh tropical flowers). On Friday evenings they have a free Polynesian dance performance.

There is a big sandy beach with terrific shallow water snorkeling at Kahalu'u Park just a 2 minute drive away (go early in the morning to snorkel with the green sea turtles). A 5 minute drive will take you to terrific boogie boarding at Magic Sands and big wave surfing at Banyans.

The Kona Country Club is right across the street from us with two premier 18 hole courses (Mountain and Ocean). You can walk to the Keauhou Outrigger Resort for an evening show or sit on our lanai and enjoy their music. The upscale Keauhou Sheraton Resort is nearby for that sunset cocktail on water’s edge to watch the manta rays feed. It is five miles and a 15-minute drive to the main town of Kailua-Kona for more shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Keahole-Kona airport (KOA) is 14 miles and 25 minutes to the north. It's 90 miles to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Hilo is just over two hours away.

This townhouse is unlike 90% of all the condos on the Kona Coast because of the phenomenal views from the private lanais which look out on acres of nature preserve and the azure blue ocean, not somebody else's rooftop or lanai. Luxurious furnishings in a peaceful setting with privacy and tranquility in a great location. You will not be disappointed with our ohana hale.

Why the Owner Chose Na Hale O Keauhou

We chose our home at Na Hale O Keauhou because it is a gorgeous resort property with gated security, privacy and outstanding maintenance and landscaping. Everything is modern, clean and neat. There are very few permanent residents so it never feels crowded.

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome

Most importantly, our hale looks out on a nature preserve from both of our lanais with amazing views from the ocean all the way to the top of Mt. Hualalai. Since it is our second residence, it is fully furnished with all of the amenities of home including all of the necessities for fun on the beaches. Our pool area is always quiet and the water is warm, very refreshing for a morning swim or a long soaking in the Jacuzzi.

Home away from Home!

Date of Stay: 02/01/08 Review Submitted: 03/25/08

We have been back a month now and we still talk about how that was one of the best places we have been to. It is a great house with plenty of room for 4 adults & 4 kids, plenty of room for all. Everything as described and more. Such great owner to work with, we would certainly return again. Really felt like our own home! Mahalo.

Paradise in Keauhou

Guest: Pandamom3 (Minneapolis, Minnesota)
Date of Stay: 01/12/12 Review Submitted: 03/20/12

Our family has stayed in other rentals in Na Hale O Keauhou before, as it is a beautiful property and location, with the amenities that we want. However, it is the owner's attentiveness that makes this particular hale special. The list of all the favorite things that the owner likes about the Big Island were listed, and even though we have been to the island before, we certainly found some new favorites because of the list. The fresh fish at the Saturday farmer's market in Keauhou, and the online golf site to get big discounts on tee times, just to name two. And, when we found out the coffee maker didn't work, by email was promptly answered and the problem solved! We like to cook, and the kitchen was well equipped. Plus, this unit has a bigger lanai than some of the others, so sitting outside for meals at the large teak table was very enjoyable. Would recommend this unit to anyone.

Memorable time in Kona

Guest: Janie (Elkton, Oregon)
Date of Stay: 02/14/12 Review Submitted: 03/19/12

The owner was extremely helpful in all the details, and the list of activities was greatly appreciated. We especially were glad to get fresh fish just 5 minutes away at Saturday market. This location was ideal for us. All aspects of the condo were at least as good as advertised. A lovely, comfortable place to come back to each evening. Very clean and well-equipped. I would definitely book here again!

Owner response:Smiles abound when we hear how much our guests appreciate our beutiful, very special hale. It's an extraordinary place and we strive to make your Hawaii experience unforgettable! Mahalo for your positive feedback. Aloha, Warren

Lovely Christmas week with family

Guest: Maggie (Portland, OR)
Date of Stay: 12/23/11 Review Submitted: 01/22/12

Your home vastly exceeded all our expectations and was the starting point of a lovely week. Very amazing location. Also, it was great to be able to walk up to the shopping center for anything we'd forgotten or even to get coffee and crepes early in the morning. We walked down to Keauhou beach and snorkeled and took pictures of the sea turtles; a few walked to Outrigger to play tennis, and most incredible: the golf where you suggested at the Country club on the mountain course. One of the golfers says that it was the single best place that he has ever played anytime or anywhere. Every single stopping point was part of a vista out over the ocean. We met RUDY at the Farmers'Market in town!! Originally we'd only planned on getting one bouquet of flowers but by the time we left, we had two with bamboo vases and enough flowers for each of the bedrooms to have one as well. He was delighted that you are telling people about his flower shop. To your incredible list of things to do and see, you might like to add a tour of the Original Chocolate Factory that is just up the hill from your place. It costs $12. per person but for anyone who enjoys learning about their favorite food group and wants to support local industry, well, this is THE place to go. It is a small place with only five people owning and working there. The cacao is all hand-cut, dried, winnowed, molded…into original 100% Hawaiian chocolate. Oh, magnificent extensive sets of dishes, pots/pans…. We made a lovely Christmas dinner with all the fixings, six cooks with space and utensils enough for all to have a very fun time together. Oh, great to let people know about the proximity of CostCo. Hmm, probably other things may come to mind but that really is all from me. Thanks again for the meticulous attention to detail in every way, Maggie McSwiggen

Owner response:I am so happy to hear Maggie's group enjoyed staying at our beautiful hale so much. I am always available to assist our renters in any way possible to enhance their experience. It is a wonderful place to relax with friends or family, share meals together on our lanai, watch the sunset, or take an afternoon nap on our sectional couch we call the vortex...serenity and comfort can be found here.

Great Time

Guest: Family Fun (Santa Rosa, CA)
Date of Stay: 03/20/11 Review Submitted: 04/08/11

We stayed here March 2011. The townhouse is a very nice unit and has everything you would need. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Nice views. Quiet. Very conveniently located. We frequently walked to the market on the hill for dinners and supplies. 10-15 minute walk to the snorkeling area- lots of fish and saw the turtles every time. Make sure to go to the Sat farmers market to get fresh fish and cook and the nice grill at the townhouse. Only thing we didnt like was having to get on the plane to go back home!

STAY HERE -terrific condo with attentive owner!

Guest: Iowa5 (Iowa City)
Date of Stay: 03/11/11 Review Submitted: 03/26/11

We've utilized VRBO for years and have enjoyed wonderful accommodations all over the world. This beautiful condo is one of the best spots we've ever experienced. It's in a wonderful location with great facilities. But what makes the place stand out is Warren. He's a conscientious owner who truly works to make sure you have a relaxing vacation. It's like having your own concierge. We arrived on a Friday p.m. and knew to head to the handy farmers market to get fresh tuna the next morning thanks to the detailed information provided. Sitting on the beautiful lanai using the top grade grill (run out of gas - no worries - there's an extra tank ready) watching the sunset over the Pacific with an unobstructed view . . . .perfect. Everyone in our multigenerational group is ready to go back. Malaho Warren!

Owner response:I'm always happy when our renters appreciate the extra services I offer.

Thanksgiving on the Big Island

Guest: Troy (Midland, MI, USA)
Date of Stay: 11/24/10 Review Submitted: 12/16/10

Excellent condo located in a gated community near Keauhou Bay, that was built in 2006. It is about 2 miles from the highway, and 15 miles from the Kailua-Kona airport. The entire area surrounding the condo is all new construction. A simple right turn out of the gated community and you are on Alii Drive which parallels the coastline. Drive 5 miles on Alii Dr and you are in the old town center of Kailua (a cruise ship ports every Wednesday). Kailua also has new shopping centers, etc. There are several farmer's markets in the area. A shopping village is less than 1/4 mile away from the condo and has all of the things that you would want (grocery store, gas station, pharmacy, medical clinic, etc.). Keauhou Shopping Village http://www.keauhouvillageshops.com/ The owner is very friendly and has an excellent attitude in making the customer happy. He is very willing to answer questions and provides details of the area. The condo is as depicted in the pictures, but looks even better in-person. The condo was very quiet. The owner provides many extras to make it convenient to stay in the condo. We used one of the coolers to store our lunch on our trip to Volcanoes National Park. The location is excellent for the Kona side of the Big Island. Keauhou Bay is about 90 miles from Volcanoes National Park. It was a 1:50 drive starting at 6:00 am on Thanksgiving weekend to the visitor center in the park. Google Maps indicates a much longer drive time. We only have positive things to say about our stay. It exceeded our expectations.

Excellent Location & comfortable space

Guest: SallyL (California, USA)
Date of Stay: 03/26/10 Review Submitted: 04/14/10

We stayed here for 4 nights. It was a perfect location - we could walk to the supermarket, farmers market and restaurants nearby (the Japanese restaurant was fresh and delicious). The pool was magnificent and we often had it to ourselves. The accommodation itself was comfortable. We were able to spread out and enjoy the living areas and lanai. We cooked dinner and everything was available to make meals. It was quiet and the sunset from the lanai was magnificent. We could see the ocean and hear the ocean. A perfect Hawaiian escape. We used the snorkels and boogie board found in the garage at the beach. A must do is the snorkeling as the fish are so colourful and brilliant. The communication with Warren the owner was excellent. He confirmed my reservation a few days before. Provided excellent tips for the whole island. If I ever go back I would stay here again. Mahalo!

My family (my wife, myself, my son, and my daughter) stayed in this condo in late June early July 2009. During our vacation we visited three islands and stayed in three condos. This was by far the nicest "hale" we stayed at. The condo was spacious, clean, and was close to everything. The owner was also very easy to work with and responsive. We definitely recommend this "Hale" if staying on the Big Island.
