A contemporary, sumptuous hideaway on Giudecca Island, Casa d’Oro a Mare is a newly restored luxury apartment of 130 sq meters (1,400 sq feet). It sleeps five guests in three bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. Renovated by a renowned Italian interior designer, the bedrooms come with apple-green walls and red velvet pillows, and in the kitchen and living room, the palette is paler: mustard-hued walls, sofas and stainless steel fittings. Outside, the wooden decking offers stunning views across to St Mark's Basilica.
This charming apartment has the enormous advantage of being well protected from mass tourism, but still boasts very easy access to the rest of Venice by a frequent public boat service (vaporetto) that operates day and night.
Layout:
On the first floor is a comfortable Venetian style living room with two large windows facing the water, flooding the room with light. There is a large contemporary all steel kitchen/dining room seating over 8 people, with two more large windows facing the water.
The double bedroom with a king-sized bed has an en-suite marble covered bathroom with carved sink and tub with ceiling mounted shower, views over a tranquil garden.
There is a twin bedroom (that can also become a super king size double), with an en suite marble covered bathroom with carved sink and separate walk in shower.
On the ground floor, at the sea level, there is landing room with its own private deck, for arrivals directly from the airport or train station by water taxi. This is also a gorgeous place for sun bathing, peaceful reading or romantic al fresco dinners. It boasts stunning views over Canale della Giudecca and Salute's dome. The landing room sleeps a further guest (or two children) in a French bed and has its own bathroom (walk in shower), kitchenette and air conditioning.
There is air conditioning throughout the house, under-floor heating system, WI-FI, Satellite TV, DVD, Telephone, Fax Machine, Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer and two Dishwashers. A hoover and all other cleaning equipment provided.
Points of Interest / Distances
Giudecca Island boasts two of the most famous churches from Palladio (Redentore and Zitelle), three among the most renowned hotels in Venice (Cipriani, Bauer Palladio and Hilton Stucky) and two cult Ventian restaurants: Altanella (in calle delle Erbe at a few steps from the apartment) and Harris Dolci. At a very short walking distance you will find everything you wish for shopping food: a very richly supplied supermarket (not easy to find in Venice), various groceries and a superb fish monger, the best in town after Rialto market.
There is a vaporetto stop only 5 minutes away, and San Marco is 10 minutes away. Accademia, Guggenheim Luseum, Punta della Dogana exhibition space and Biennale exhibition areas within a very short vaporetto ride.

You will be welcomed by our representative in Venice who will show you the apartment and the surrounding area, and will be there to help and assist you throughout your vacation. Weekly bed and bath linen changing and final cleaning are included in the total cost. Electricity, air conditioning, house heating and water heating are also included for your comfort. There is free and unlimited Wi-Fi broadband access. A hairdryer is provided in each bathroom. Cots, cradles and high chairs can also be easily provided upon request.

A water-taxi service is available at a very reasonable price by special agreement for picking up the guests at the airport or train station and for leaving them at the private deck. The driver holds the keys to the house. He is also available for day trips in the laguna, visits to Murano, Burano, Torcello or single trips to any part of Venice including to the train station and airport.
Arrival shopping can also be arranged for food, wine and consumables.
There is extra maid service available, and cook service with wonderful evening meals on the wooden deck at sunset.

We absolutely loved the apartment! It was jaw-droppingly gorgeous! The location was quiet and away from the maddening crowds. The availability of the water taxis was key for some of our travel companions. Our group really had a wonderful time and felt like we were in a very special place. The recommended tour guide was a gem. Our day turned out to be fantastic! Thanks, as always for everything. We saw a side to Venice we would have otherwise missed, and loved every minute of it!
