This home is just Superb!!! Couldn't believe how beautiful it is! We spent the weekend of the Arts and Wine Festival here and had a wonderful time. The kitchen is fully equipped, didn't need to bring a thing. The decor and furnishings are lovely. Hopefully, we will be back! Owner is quick to respond to inquiries.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We have been traveling to Deep Creek for an annual ski trip for 10 years and have always rented a cabin through the local realty company. This year, we chose this cabin through VBRO and boy were we impressed. Unlike the cabins we have rented before through the realty company in the past, this cabin felt like a home. It felt brand new, had great fixtures, tons of decorations, and was very comfortable. The cabin was well stocked with hand soap in each bathroom and in the kitchen, and even had laundry detergent to use. The living areas were open and bright and we especially enjoyed sitting around the fireplace at night. The game table had tons of games and the location of this cabin is great. We hope to return next year. It was hard to think of a needed improvement, but if we had to pick something it would be a better TV in the upstairs living area. The only reason we thought to turn it on was for the Superbowl...so the fact that it was older and not HD really wasn't a big deal. Thanks to the owners for making this home a special experience.

Christmas Day Family Get Away

Our family, a group of 11 people - and a lazy dog came from eastern MD, Miami and Pto. Rco. We usually spend Christmas at home but decided to rent a home at Deep Creek to be able to spend time with our son who started a job as a snowboarder instructor at the resort. Michelle at the VRBO office worked with us and made it super easy to process reservations and fees and all the instructions we needed. The minute we opened the door to this house, the house said "Welcome" in a strange but awesome way! The rooms, rustic-eclectic nature decor, wall colors, furniture, kitchen utensils and bedding, the house structure and even the personal stuff the McClair family shared were truly welcoming words that made our stay special. The owner was available and super friendly every time we called. The home was conveniently close to the ski resort, sledding park, lake, stores, ect. We cooked and ate (too much), had snowman competitions, launched around, played games, had snow fights, went for walks, met wonderful neighbors, told stories around the fireplace, attended the Baptist church Christmas candlelight service, went to the movies and most important our son came home every day after work and was able to be part of our Christmas traditions throughout the week. As I think back, it really takes a special family to open and share such wonderful home with strangers like us, and in a strange way we feel connected because of all the memories we made this Christmas week. We were very lucky and blessed to have found such perfect home.

Just returned home yesterday from a quick girls getaway at Doug & Colleen's home. We were pleasantly surprised at how accurate the pictures were of the home. There were a couple of items that were missed....but overall the house was very well maintained. The homes decor was fantastic, especially all if the wall hanging and personal touches. We were very close to the water....we even ventured around the way to the state park and found a beach! The only downfall to the weekend was that the water wasn't working for most of the day Saturday. But the neighbors were very friendly and kept coming over to give us status reports and checking to see if we needed anything. They loved the fact that we put up a tent on the deck, which helped block out the sun. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a home fully equipped with everything you need. Next time we will have to make sure we add an extra day because it was rough getting up and out of the house with 7 people by 10am after a night out. Thanks for allowing us to use your home. It definitely beats the barracks!
