We found the Grits Carlton to be a marvelous home, very spacious, very well decorated, and suited to all of our needs. We had a family birthday party on the deck and had so much fun. Overall a terrific stay and we plan to return next year. ( My sister-in-law and family stayed at another home on the street and they were very jealous of the Grits!) Thanks so much!

A Memorable Month at the Grits last year

I was looking at the calendar for the Grits to check availability for a return visit and then realized I never wrote a review. My husband and I spent four weeks in this wonderful house last August/September and this was third time we've rented in Water's Edge. In our opinion, there isn't another house in Water's Edge that compares for charm, comfort and privacy and the pool is the absolutely the best. We spent hours reading and lounging on the porch swing on the second level. The proximity to all the shops in Seacrest and Rosemary made this location ideal. The little sundry shop right across 30-A is great for getting a morning paper and breakfast sandwiches. Kristi is so accommodating and gracious. She was available by phone or e-mail anytime we had a question and it was so much easier to call her than to go through an agency, as we've always done before. Can't wait to go back!

Best vacation we have ever had! This house is so beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable and ideally located. The photo's cannot possibly do it justice. We were very comfortable allowing our teenage daughters to take their bikes for snowballs, book store, etc. The pool and balconies were our favorite hangouts. The house is so nice it made it hard to leave to do anything else. The kitchen is perfect for those of us who like to cook. Everything you need! The beach is so pretty, very family oriented and well maintained. First time in over 10 years I have seen my spouse truly relax. If there was anything we didn't have Wild Olives or the Sundries did and we all came home glowing, rested and a little bit heavier! Kristie this is such a treasure. Thank You for sharing with us! I cannot think of one thing we would have changed...except adding another week and another.... We hope to do it again soon!

Keep your eyes on the calendar and let me know when you need a booster shot of R & R. Spence was beside himself that MC was there and he couldn't go hang out at the beach with her.

The Best Grits Ever!

My family and I recently returned from a week at the Grits Carlton and we all agree it is our favorite and we have been staying along the Destin/30-A area for over 23 years!! The home is so comfortable and so tastefully and comfortably decorated. I am not sure that I have truly enjoyed a home as much as this one. The last day I just sat on the porch in the swing and enjoyed the breezes and the view. My grown children commented that the linens and beds were so comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed! We did enjoy La Cocina(sp?) across the street and all we had to do was walk there as so many other neat places in Rosemary. Thanks Kristi for everything!

wonderful time during memorial weekend

A perfect location is how I describe this stunning home. My family all told me it was the best vacation they have ever had. Everyone just had such a wonderful time in the home and pool. And the nice stroll to the ocean seemed so pleasant. I want to think Kristi for letting us relax and enjoy her home. The only thing i regret is i needed another week to become more familiar with the town of Rosemary. Every person we ran into was so kind and welcoming. I truly enjoyed the morning walks along 30A. I could go on and on about how perfect everything worked out in this home. It suited us perfect for my family of 10. Thank you again Kristi for letting us share a beautiful experience. Hope we can spend another summer week at your home........Mark

The huge wrap around porch is the place to be.. with comfortable chairs, swing, music and view of the ocean. You feel right at home with books to read, wireless internet service and a pottery barn feel. The heated pool is where you want to hang out for the day! You can walk to Rosemary Beach and eat at many restaurants. Once you park, you don't want to leave!

We could see the owners attention to detail, creative decor, comfortable family- friendly furniture and beds, beautiful kitchen-and the balcony- (whoa!! we lived out there)-- the perfect beach house. It had everything we could possibly need and more. Rosemary Beach was amazing and had so much to do within walking distance, great for kids!! This house was just right for our crew and will be the first place we check into when we take the next vacation! Thank you for such a wonderful place-we loved it!

We have stayed at the Gritz for two years now, and I actually cried when we had to leave this year. It is becoming our home away from home. The home is beautiful, the pool is great, the decorating and appliances are up to date and very nice. The wrap around porch is so great to just lounge on. I can't say enough great things about it. The rentors are great to deal with. The location is fabulous. Our kids just had the best time too. We would highly recommend this beach home to anyone, just don't get our time slot for next year!!!
