Expansive third floor game/bunk room with full size pool table. Perfect for family reunions and other large groups. Multiple kitchen facilities with multiple dishwashers. This year will be our third or fourth rental of this house. We love it! I can't say a single thing bad about the house or the owners, as they have always accomodated us. We try to leave the house as we found it. All the kids and adults love this place.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed at the Mansion on the Beach for a family reunion and could not have been happier. We appreciated the large common areas that allowed all of us to be together. The house very comfortably accomodated 21 of us. The pool was fabulous as was the convenience (just steps) to the beach. The kitchens (2) were extremely well equipped with dishes and cooking supplies. This is a georgeous house that has beautiful views of the ocean and a great location on the Isle of Palms. The owner obviously takes pride in the upkeep of the house and was responsive to our needs. We would definitely stay here agan.
Recommended for:Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We rented the house for the Cooper River Bridge Run and we were very happy! Great house in a great location! Can't wait to go back!

24 of us, ages 1 to 90, spent the holidays together in this lovely home. Lots of space for everyone but also enough room for everyone to eat and spend time together. The teens loved the 3rd floor. Lots of dishes,glasses, utensils,ect. available in the home. The property was clean and nicely furnished. Not a new home so there was some wear and tear but nothing that disturbed our stay and the owners said they were doing some maintance after we left, during the slow season. We loved the area, it was easy to get around, and was just a short distance to Charleston.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

My family has rented the Mansion on the Beach twice now and though we all have loved the house, we have found the owner/renter extremely difficult to work with on both occassions. I would recommend looking elsewhere, beautiful homes for rent are a dime a dozen, I'm sure you can find one with an accommodating owner.
Owner response:We have been listing on this web site and its predecessors for 9 years, and this is the first criticism. This writer never told us that we were grouchy or difficult. In fact, this group returned for a second time and wanted to come back for a third. 2009 would have been their third time. We did not accept them for 2009, because they left the property damaged and in disarry. I believe this rejection is the reason for the adverse comments.
