Hi Stephen, We had the most amazing time in Costa Rica and we both truly enjoyed our time at your house the most. We went to Arenal, San Jose and Tortuguero and they were all stunning and certainly worth seeing but the sunshine and waking up to the ocean were impossible to beat. As you suggested we got the chance to swim with the turtles, do an ocean sunset boat tour, horseback ride from the house, checked out Tamarindo and took some surfing lessons. Casa Blanca is a one of a kind special place on the Pacific Coast. When we arrived, my jaw dropped when I saw the view. The pool is gorgeous, spacious, and lights up at night. Every morning when I came out, I couldn't believe that we had this place all to ourselves, and didn't have to share it with other tourists. One of the things that makes Casa Blanca so unique is its location. Before booking here I looked at many other houses, and although there are quite a few beautiful rental properties, none of them were directly on the beach, and what beach it is! Dark sand, very clean, with beautiful, white, foamy waves that wash far onto the shore. That sound filled my vacation - we never watched tv or listened to music once. There are also many neat crabs that run around on the beach and on the nearby rocks. The most important fact is that you have the beach pretty much to yourself. The resort next door is practically empty. Although the house is pretty remote, there are still quite a few places to wine and dine yourself within a 10 minute drive. It started out as 3 friends wanting to take a trip to a tropical destination to get away from the grind of work, stresses of life and the snowy chill of Edmonton. It ended with 3 even closer friends having one of the most fantastic vacations in our own private paradise for 2 whole weeks. When we pulled up to Casa Blanca, Georgio was there to greet us and gave us a tour of the house as well as many recommendations of the area. The moment we walked out to the back patio and saw the pool and view – we knew we would be spending the majority of our time there. The house was fantastic and had everything we needed to make our time there a complete pleasure. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, bowls and cookery while the bedrooms had linens and towels – so there was no need to bring anything extra. We spent most evenings reading, watching DVDs or checking emails/facebook since there was WiFi. Most of our days were spent on the patio by the pool, reading, listening to music, cooling off in the pool and taking the quick walk down to the beach to boogie board or play in the waves. As we sat on the patio during the day we would watch the birds, butterflies, and dragonflies play and in the evenings you could hear the jungle come alive. Although there are lots of creepy crawlies….you have to remember, you’re in the jungle and you do get used to them! We also had the opportunity to take a boat tour to swim with sea turtles and dolphin watching, as well as scuba diving with lessons in our pool. We did make the drive to Tamarindo twice to do some shopping, check out the restaurants and nightlife. Zip lining was also a highlight of our adventures as Miss Sky Canopy tours is the world’s highest and longest – and definitely didn’t disappoint. We quickly discovered a restaurant in San Juanillo which we visited 3 times because the food was SO good. This trip was truly the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation ever and it had everything to do with location. Being at Casa Blanca had the perfect combination of isolation, adventure, and the most stunning view imaginable. When I got back home and people asked how my trip was my response was that “it was like waking up in paradise every day!” I can’t wait to go back :) Thank you to Jessica Hughes for all the recommendations and helping make our time in Costa Rica unforgettable!Did you find this review helpful?
