This large apartment (105 sq.m., 1150 sq.f.) near Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio is on the second (and top) floor of a two-storey 15th century building once home to the "Forni Reali" (Royal Bakery) where the De Medici had their bread cooked. Completely renovated in 2001, it now offers all modern comforts (see the list of amenities below).

The apartment entrance is on a pedestrian-only street, with the three bedrooms facing two quiet inner yards with trees and a water fountain. Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio are just one minute away, while in 5-10 minutes you can walk to the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria.

The large living-dining area has terra cotta floors, 15th century wood beams and a large chestnut Tuscan-style dining table sitting 8 people comfortably. The modern and spacious eat-in kitchen with beech cabinets and a breakfast/bar counter is fully equipped and offers over 5 meters (15 ft) of stone and stainless steel counter space for food preparation.

The office area has a large desk, ceiling lights, and all office equipment is available upon request.

The large bedroom features a king size bed. The medium bedroom has one elevated bed and two single beds that can be joined together into a queen size bed. The small cozy bedroom has a single size. All bedrooms have hardwood floor, except for the smallest one which has terra-cotta floors. Two additional people can be accomodated in the sofa bed in the living room.

The large bathroom has cherry cabinets, hardwood floors and a modern shower stall and water jets for massage. Note that there is no tub in the apartment. The other bathroom is small but has its own shower.

Two sky-lights, eight windows and several wall and ceiling lamps provide ample illuminations to every point in the apartment at any hour. All windows have screens.

Parking available at a nearby garage (100m away).

  • This apartment is in the perfect location for access to all of the famous sites in Firenze - AND - the wonderful neighborhoods across the river. The apartment has everything that you need, and Francesca is terrific. I'm sure that we will be back again.

  • In July 2009 our group of five people spent 5 nights in this lovely and spacious apartment. The apartment was in a great location and we could easily walk to everything or to a bus stop very close by. We had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable including a laptop for our use. Francesca was very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this apartment and would stay here again on a future visit to Florence.

  • We agree with all of the positive comments. We stayed for four nights with three children. The apartment is large, spotless, and well equipped. The kitchen is top end. Francesca the manager and Stefano the owner were very easy to work with and quite helpful. The location is perfect. This was an extremely fun place to stay. We would definitely return. Finally, Quattro Leone, the restaurant referred to by other visitors, is the best place we ate at in Italy. The food and service was comparable to places like the Union Square Cafe in New York (at a fraction of the cost).

  • This is a superb apartment: it is the second time we have rented it, and hope it won't be the last! It is very comfortable for up to seven,and the back-up is very efficient. The position could not be better for the visitor to Firenze: it is a very short walk to each of the Ponte Vecchio, Ufizzi, Pitti, Boboli, Palazzo Vecchio, Museum of Science, Santo Sprito, Santa Carmine, etc. etc. A VERY big "plus" is that a funky Cafe is just outside the lower front door, an alimenteri next door, three more within a block, Post office around the corner, and one of the best Restaurants in Firenze ( Quatro Leone) is in the Piazza, less than seventy steps away from the door. (Yet, because of its construction and elevation, the apartment itself is quiet and restful). Being in the Oltrarno, there are silversmiths,jewellers, glass- fabric- and graphic- artists all around, and all friendly.A perfect position for the visitor, and Francesca made sure we were comfortable and informed.

  • This apartment was a perfect place to stay in Florence. It was well equipped and very well located. We walked to everything. Elise and Francesca were wonderful. The only thing that would have been good to know ahead of time was where to find a grocery store - we found 2 eventually. We enjoyed not only the nearby restaurants, but making some light meals in the apartment. I would recommend this apartment highly!

  • We were all delighted with our stay in this wonderfully well kept, well equipped apartment. Although our group had 4 adults and 4 children, it was very comfortable. The pictures posted don't do it justice, the apt. looks much more impressive in reality. The bathrooms were clean (though one was a little tight), the kitchen will beckon you to cook, and the entertainment center will allow you to just sit and relax. Very centrally located. Francesca was wonderful and extremely helpful. We would return here again. Thank you so much for a memorable stay.

  • The apartment was well beyond our expectations,and thank goodness for Quattro Leoni because all grocers were closed Sunday after 7:00 and no hope of cooking. Francesca was such a dear to help our two teenagers settle in a day prior to our arrival due to illness in Rome...thank you Francesca. Great location, will return again and bring adult friends!

We agree totally with the other statements about the convenient location and the internet access and the wonderful Quatro Leoni. Also, having a land telephone line helped with free communication with others in our party. A hint, if you want to take the bus to the train station, head for the stop AWAY from the Ponte Vecchio. The stop near there goes in a figure 8 and takes at least 20 minutes. The stop by the other bridge takes you right to the station. The apartment was so comfortable we didn't want to leave!! The amenities and conveniences were wonderful, great location (4 Leoni restaurant is a "must-go" 20 yards away), and wonderful house manager - Francesca who made sure we had everything we needed. It couldn't have been better & we hope to stay there again in the future!!!!
