This large apartment (105 sq.m., 1150 sq.f.) near Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio is on the second (and top) floor of a two-storey 15th century building once home to the "Forni Reali" (Royal Bakery) where the De Medici had their bread cooked. Completely renovated in 2001, it now offers all modern comforts (see the list of amenities below).

The apartment entrance is on a pedestrian-only street, with the three bedrooms facing two quiet inner yards with trees and a water fountain. Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio are just one minute away, while in 5-10 minutes you can walk to the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria.

The large living-dining area has terra cotta floors, 15th century wood beams and a large chestnut Tuscan-style dining table sitting 8 people comfortably. The modern and spacious eat-in kitchen with beech cabinets and a breakfast/bar counter is fully equipped and offers over 5 meters (15 ft) of stone and stainless steel counter space for food preparation.

The office area has a large desk, ceiling lights, and all office equipment is available upon request.

The large bedroom features a king size bed. The medium bedroom has one elevated bed and two single beds that can be joined together into a queen size bed. The small cozy bedroom has a single size. All bedrooms have hardwood floor, except for the smallest one which has terra-cotta floors. Two additional people can be accomodated in the sofa bed in the living room.

The large bathroom has cherry cabinets, hardwood floors and a modern shower stall and water jets for massage. Note that there is no tub in the apartment. The other bathroom is small but has its own shower.

Two sky-lights, eight windows and several wall and ceiling lamps provide ample illuminations to every point in the apartment at any hour. All windows have screens.

Parking available at a nearby garage (100m away).

This was a great family apartment in the Oltrano section of Florence. The greeter was the nicest of all the apartments we rented during our stay. The kitchen was also the best of any we had seen - unlike some other apartments we stayed in you could really cook a full meal here easily. Great restaurants within steps in the Piazza next door - however I would avoid Quattro Leone (4 Leone) - as the staff is really rude and the food is mediocre. There is a nice supermarket on the Oltrano side just past the Ponte Vecchio (less than 5 minutes away). Tip - try Antico Porto for pizza (its a hole in the wall and about a 10 to 15 minute walk away from town) but they have burratta and truffle pizza - if you are a foodie you will understand why this is so special Minor issues - a)you have to pay for utilities seperately and the greeters fee is on the high side. This makes the rate a little less reasonable that it initially seems. b)No clothes dryer (typical of italian rentals - but since you are paying for utilities anyway...This was only really an issue since it was raining and our stay was short. c) Windows are a bit small so the apartment seems a trifle dark - however on the flip side - this keeps it very quiet.

This is a wonderful property in a great location. We spent 8 nights here and were completely satisfied with the accomodations. The location was perfect for getting around the city. The property manager was very helpful and Maarjo had great suggestions for places to dine and shop. We look forward to visiting Florence and staying here again.

Our family of six had the most wonderful time in this very comfortable and clean, large apartment with every amenity supplied. In particular, the kitchen is a chef's delight! The location is superb in a gorgeous (pedestrian only) street which leads directly to the Ponte Vecchio. From the moment we arrived we felt like Florentines with a piazza at the front door where there are a number of eating places (restaurants and a bar) at our disposal, a gelateria and musicians serenading with their piano accordians. You will also find a well stocked supermarket close by. The booking process was easy and both Francesca and Maarja made us feel very welcome and were excellent hostesses. We absolutely loved our time in Florence and it was largely to do with the fact we had this apartment as our basis. Thank you for sharing your apartment with us, we will return.

Our group (six women) stayed here for 9 days. The location was great. The apartment was in a lovely neighborhood close to shopping and restaurants. There is a cafe and a gelato shop right on the street. We were able to walk each day to several museums and other attractions. We felt like we really got a feel for Florence staying here as opposed to staying in a hotel.

My wife and I took our two grown boys and stayed for five nights. Two blocks from the Ponte Vecchio on the West side of the Arno River we had easy access by foot to all the places we wanted to go. There were three bedrooms and a fold out couch. There was a full sized bathroom with a shower and a much smaller one with a toilet and shower head and sink; we never used the tiny bathroom due to its size, but we did fine. The WIFI was not reliable but the owner was in the process of looking into this. Across the alley from our door were several excellent restaurants, and very close by were a couple of grocery stores. There was a full kitchen and also a washing machine; clothes lines were available outside the hallway and master bedroom windows and we had no problem with this routine. If you travel in the hot months you need to know that there is no AC in the smallest bedroom, but our son had no problem with it. I would not hesitate returning to this property.

I loved this place. The pictures are exact. The location is perfect, quite near the Ponte Vecchio yet far enough from the crowds and the noise. The apartment was spacious, clean and had every convenience of home. The air conditioners worked just fine except for the small room in the front, which only had a table fan. We were three adults and three teens. The kitchen was totally equipped. We cooked some of our meals and were so pleased to find a well stocked grocer not too far and a small fruit market near by as well. The grocer had a good collection of inexpensive wines (we tried one at 2.95EUR and it was great). There is a coffee shop and a gelato shop right outside the door. Great stuff! There is also a restaurant in the small square which you can see from the second floor kitchen window. The flat is on the second floor - so yes you have to carry your bags up - as you would with many hotels in Italy. You can pretty much tour on foot quite easily in Florence. You can also tour neighboring towns by taking a day tour. We reserved by telephone with MyTour (need to give cc number to hold space, then present cc to tour guide before getting on bus - OR - just show up early to the meeting point with cash or cc). We got the brochure from the Santa Maria Novella train station. We met up with the tour right under the clock outside the train station. I highly recommend the Siena, San Gimignano, Chianti tour. Good value for money. But if you need more info, Francesca is very helpful with recommendations. Furthermore, there is a shelf of travel books at your disposal that you can peruse as you sip some great wine in the comfort of this fine flat. Or, you can make use of the free wi-fi. Do go see Palazzo Piti, close by. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location. The apartment is large with a large kitchen. However, it is very dark - even midday. It has a dingy feeling, almost like a youth hostel. The A/C only works well in the room with the 3 single beds. In the other large bedroom it is only so-so. The unit in the main living area basically wasn't working. It was dripping water into the floor so we turned it off most of the time. The manager (who was generally quite nice and helpful) said to just put a bucket underneath as she couldn't get anyone there to fix it. Even when the unit was on, it barely gave off cool air and certainly was too small to cool the place. We were hot and sweaty most of the time, which really put a damper on the visit to Florence. We also had to pay for 3 days of utilities when we left. This was in the contract but we hadn't focused on it. Under the curcumstances, it felt like being nickel and dimed. We left with an icky feeling about the whole thing.

We lucked out finding this place. It is tucked away but literally a 1-2 minute walk from Palazzo Pitti and the Ponte Vecchio. You are in an area with shopping, great restaurants and gelato right downstairs. It was quiet at night and the apartment had everything we needed. 5 children and 2 adults slept comfortably. When we go back to Florence, we will stay here, no question.

My husband and our daughter's family stayed in this lovely apartment for 10 nights, and it was more than we expected. The beds were comfortable and the appliances all worked efficiently. The apartment was tasteful and very Italian. We loved the tranquil neighborhood, an oasis away from the clamor of the city center, yet it was within walking distance of everything (including a well-stocked supermarket), even for children and elderly grandparents. We have lived in Italy twice and travel to Europe almost every year, and this apartment was one of the best accommodation ever for convenience, charm, comfort with delightful, helpful hosts. Luca lived nearby, so we were never without a helping hand if needed. It's always hard to leave Italy, and this location and apartment left us with a deep yearning to return soon.
