As the plane lands, you see the spectacular Azure Sea. Then you get off the plane and smell the air and feel the fresh breeze. Next you take a bus or taxi to Old Nice, a walled-in city built centuries ago. You make your way to Place Vieille, a small courtyard next to the Place Rossetti. You enter the 18th century building and see the restored frescoes on the staircase leading to the second floor.
You are not in Kansas anymore! The apartment is a perfect blend of old world charm (15 foot high waffled ceiling)with all the modern conveniences including a five CD stereo system with speakers in three rooms, TV, DVD player, fax machine, internet accessible, washer/dryer, and AIR CONDITIONING! You are two minutes from the beach/sea, two minutes from the most extraordinary outdoor food market (every day but Monday when it is an outdoor flea market), two minutes from great restaurants, bars, jazz clubs, opera house and five minutes from the bus station which can take you anywhere in the South of France (and beyond).

As others have noted, this apartment is amazingly well located - 5 minutes from the beach, 2 minutes from the markets, 5 from the bus stops and the Old Town at your door. It was, fortunately, on the first floor (one flight)and had everything one could want- Internet, TV, coffeemaker. The queen bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable, and my son seemed happy in his room. Powerful shower and towel warmer, washing machine....and three times as large as the apartment we rented in Paris a few weeks ago. We were there in the fall with windows wide open and so it was a bit noisy at night- I had earplugs and next time might bring my white noise machine. Not a problem. Had we used the air conditioning we would likely have heard nothing.. We feel very fortunate to have had the use of this place and could not recommend it more highly.

This is a gem of an apartment well located. If you want a special city holiday this is the place. Like most Continental apartments you find a surprise inside the understated 19th century entrance door and this is no exception, the hall and stairs are well preserved and decorated. The apartment is cool, shaded, spacious and quiet, even when locals have late night dinners below you. The photos don’t reflect how large and comfortable the main clean and well prepared room is. Joseph the owner tried to help us in anyway he could to make our visit a success and it was. Good power shower, hairdryer and fluffy towels, plenty of hot water. The bedrooms are smallish but work with 2 reasonable double beds. It is well equipped but no dishwasher. You are in another man's home with his own iconic taste in mid 20th century art and furniture. As a base for Nice you could not get better, in the middle of the Old Town you can walk everywhere no cars or taxis needed. Every morning is a new experience either go to the Boulangerie for fresh bread or slip out to any cafe and have your petit dejunier, short walk to the daily market (except Monday when you have Brocante) wonderful fresh foods and flowers. You can spend a week with this as your base and never leave the area so much to be seen and do or just "be" and still only 10 minutes walk to the sea or 5 minutes by tram downtown. Wi-Fi was paramount to me as I use Internet radio. The agent gave little guidance, but told us "Do not expect fine dining" In this he was totally wrong, there is plenty of splendid dining including a Michelin star restaurant only minutes walk away, so We share all our dining experiences with you, they were great, (and our reviews are on tripadvisor) L'Ecurie 4 rue du Marche corner rue Francis Gallo Le Safari Cours Salaya L'Univers de Christian Plumail Michelin Star. Bistrot d'Antoine. Around the corner need to book Le Tire Bouchon Le Merenda 4 rue Raol Bosio call in and book no phone or credit cards. And don't forget to take the train to Annot if not Dignes especially after July 2011 when the new panoramic view trains start running the whole way. When traveling, I always prefer to stay in an apartment when I can. I have stayed in this lovely apartment twice now, and would definitely stay there again the next time I go to Nice. The apartment is very convenient and had all the amenities I needed. The bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable (I can't speak for the 2nd bedroom, but my friends who stayed there seemed happy). We didn't have to worry when our luggage showed up a day after us, because there is a washer/dryer there. I am in love with the gelateria that is in the plaza steps from the apartment building's front door. We used the kitchen quite a bit, and it had everything we needed. This apartment is in a great location, right in the heart of old Nice. It is decorated in style, while being homey - you can tell the owner loves the place and spends time there. I highly recommend this apartment!

I stayed here last year and it was a great decision. The property is chic, clean and in a marvelous location. The amenities are terrific. Owner is a New York lawyer who is very friendly and takes great pride in the place. You won't regret staying here.
