Hi, Ruben Bob and I wanted to thank you for taking such good care of us on our recent visit to Buenos Aires. Right from the moment we met your at the airport your knowledge of the city and its history enhanced our visit. We especially enjoyed the day we spent with you touring the city using public transport. Lunch at the local restaurant was a highlight. Our comfort with the bus and subway system after that day really allowed us the freedom to tour the city on our own. The tango show and the river cruise were both wonderful. We appreciated your help in arranging the tours. The apartment was wonderful. It allowed us to spend some wonderful time with the kids that just wouldn't have been possible if we had rented hotel rooms. San Telmo was wonderful - the Sunday market, the area restaurants were highlights of our stay. Thanks for your time and great care while we were in Buenos Aires. Bob & Vivian

We (three adults and one teenager) stayed at this San Telmo apartment for 11 days in December 2011. The apartment was a perfect pied-a-terre for us to relax after long walks and excursions or to do a bit of work on the computer. We found it exactly as described on the website. The apartment is generously sized in a beautiful old building, nicely renovated, well maintained and very comfortable. As far as amenities, it is not missing anything. We loved that it was outfitted with 110V and US type sockets and a station that allowed us to charge our various iphones, ipods and ipads at night. It is close to many restaurants. Bus stops are only a couple of blocks away and the orange bike rental is right around the corner. Having rented this apartment on Carlos Calvo made our stay so much more pleasurable. We would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Buenos Aires.

My three friends and I just returned from spending 11 days in Buenos Aires, staying at this lovely, well-appointed apartment. Beyond the perfect location, spotless decor and friendly on-site management, what I loved most was how the owners of the apartment helped us prepare to have a really great time by sharing their insider tips and encouraging us to use their names at some really great restaurants and shops. Clearly they carry weight, because we were treated like family everytime we mentioned their names. The owners are very thorough in their instructions and labeling of appliances throughout the apartment so that everything is easy to use. They even have wifi, Vonage and 110 power so if you're like our group, you can stay connected to home if you feel the need. The location is close to more good restaurants than you could possibly enjoy in a year's time, and shopping is incredibly convenient, including being a block away from the best Sunday street fair this side of London's Portobello market. The apartment is a bit bigger than it looks, so I encourage you to watch the video tour. I stayed in the bottom floor guest bedroom and it was plenty big enough, considering I felt the need to bring half my closet. The value of this hideaway is very good and the convenience of having laundry and a gourmet kitchen cannot be underestimated. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and will recommend it my friends.

We recently stayed in this wonderful apartment for 8 days. Our traveling group have stayed in many VRBO rentals and we all agree that this one has been the best! The owners has done every imaginable thing to make the guests as comfortable as possible. From their detailed labeling and instructional blookets to their wonderful collection of information for Buenos Aires travellers... there was no detail omitted. The listing description was accurate and the photos do reflect the beauty of this masterpiece apartment. We had the pleasure of meeting Dina and Kerry during the last few days and personally congratulated them for their efforts in creating such a beautiful home away from home. The location is ideal. A block from a major roadway and a block from the old town's square - Plaza Dorego where you can eat and savour tango dancing as well as sevillanas while eating a wonderful meal. The apartment is surrounded by many restaurants and cafes if you do not care to cook in the apartment's faboulous and well equipped kitchen. There are antique shops all around. A wonderful fair occurs on Saturdays that span many blocks where you can buy arts and crafts as well as antiques and clothing. You have minimarts and a fresh fruit and vegetable market close to the apartment for those who will want to use the apartment's kitchen. We had a fabulous time in Argentina and I know that part of it was because of our wonderful home away from home.

Everything was as described on the site. Nicely located in San Telmo, with the Sunday market just 1 block away. Also the guided bicycle rental was just around the corner (a must do). To discover the rest of BsAs taxi's are everywhere and cheap. Summarized a great home base for discovering BsAs, we highly recommend this appt.

We stayed here in early March and really enjoyed the beautiful property. Staying in San Telmo was enjoyable. Watching the Sunday night parade from our balcony was great fun. We would definitely recommend this property.

Buenos Dias Dina! We absolutely loved your apartment in San Telmo! It was exceptionally well furnished, both in the kitchen and elsewhere and extremely comfortable. You did a really nice job with the renovations. Even with the convenient modern appointments, your apartment maintains its historic and antique charm. We were especially impressed that you provided no-cost Vonage phone service, internet and 110 volt electricity – all a real plus for us while traveling. San Telmo is the perfect location for restaurants, nightlife, shops and tourist activities including watching the tango (and participating if one dares!) in Plaza Dorrego. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday feria with the many street vendors, actors, musicians, etc. while Calle Defensa was closed to car traffic. We found your location to be in a relaxed part of town, probably one of the best situated of all the places we could have stayed in Buenos Aires. It is a good place to come back to after touring other parts of the city. By the way your restaurant suggestions were superb! For others considering your property, they have our highest recommendations. Thank you so much for helping make our trip a wonderful experience! Sincerely, Margaret B (WV)

Recently myself and two friends spent ten days in this incredible unit. It has everything a person needs and then some. It's like living at home with a washer/dryer, phones to the U.S., wi-fi and and drop dead kitchen that would make any chef envious. The apartment is close to everything, the neighorhood is charming, close to markets and art fairs, shopping...you name it. I am VERY hard to please. Very. I loved this place and I could not recommend it more highly. If you have to see Buenos Aires, this is the only way to see it.

My wife and I spent our delayed honeymoon here last November and thoroughly enjoyed it. The apartment was clean, comfortable and centrally located. The managers were accommodating and genuinely friendly. We enjoyed exploring on foot for nearby shopping and dinning; we are big fans of the many nearby street side cafes! And when it was time to get in a taxi, most sights were within a ten minute ride. The location couldn't have been more perfect! I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone staying in Buenos Aires!

This open and spacious recently renovated apartment was a perfect place to stay in Buenos Aires. It was in the heart of San Telmo district with nice shopping, food, grocery stores and transportation right outfront its doorstep. The third floor apartment had many balconys to allow fresh air and the feel of the city abounds. The owners had every attention to detail from laundry facilities, mutiple resources on where to go and what to do. Additionally, they were a phone call away and willing to answer any questions if one should arise. There were many things availiable should a travler forget something down to a sewing kit and a shower cap. The neighbors down stairs checked on us and with their English and our little Spanish we were able to converse and this gave us a true feeling of the people of Argentina. We loved our stay and would go back and stay in this same apartment given an opportunity.

Great location on the top floor of an architectural gem. Across the street from a theater (real actors not film). Everything you could need is within three blocks (unless you need like a...bulldozer...that's ten blocks). Well maintained, gourmet kitchen (watch out those knives are SHARP!!). Awesome furniture (better than our house and we LOVE to decorate!) Stay with four friends and you can each have your OWN balcony (Don't cry for me Argentina...SING IT!) Two blocks away is "La Brigada" an Argentinean steak house owned by some soccer fanatics where they cut your steak with a spoon (and not a sharp spoon either)...if you say you can find a better steak anywhere YOU'RE A LIAR! On Saturday is the San Telmo Fair where they sell EVERYTHING! Antiques, Toys, Glassware, Food, Clothes, Records, it is AWESOME. To sum up, if you want to go to Buenos Aires...and you do WANT to go to Buenos Aires, save yourself a grand and rent this rockin pad for a week (and spend the extra money on drinks, spa treatments, and steak dinners!)

Located in the "soho" of Buenos Aires, the owners have impressively restored this spacious apartment above and beyond. Everything was there that we needed and more. The layout of the apartment gave each of us the opportunity to have our own space, yet come together in the open space. The kitchen is world class. The other really good thing about staying at this apartment was the support we received from the owners. They generously gave us suggestions about seeing the "off the beaten path" Buenos Aires which made this vacation among the best we have ever had. We highly recommend renting this apartment.

We recently returned from our stay at the Carlos Calvo Escape property in San Telmo, Buenos Aires. We had an amazing time in BA and the apartment was wonderful. The apartment itself was beautiful, well kept, and exteremely spacious. In fact, each of us had our own bedroom AND bathroom! The architecture was really cool since it had different levels. The kitchen and bathrooms are done in a contemporary style - which is a nice contrast for the historic neighboorhod. It had everything you could possibly need, i.e. safe, washer/dryer, blowdryer, kitchen utensils, guidebooks(see below), literally everything. It even had some 110 outlets and telephone use. We really felt like it was our home away from home. But what really made our stay was the the friendliness and hospitality of the owners and caretakers. The owners are so knowledgeable about BA and gave us so many great recommendations. They were so forthcoming with information, you could really see their love and passion for BA. On top of that, the apartment is well stocked with BA & Argentina guidebooks/maps and even local info. (You could literally plan your whole trip with the resources at the arpartment!) And the caretakers, Maria Teresita and Hector, are genuinely loevly people. They are so cute and always willing to help you out. As far as location - San Telmo has so much charm with its cobble stone streets and vintage architecture. The apartment is very close to Plaza Dorrego (Sunday street fair) and Defensa St, which is lined with antique stores and restaurants. When venturing out of the area - its very close to Puerto Madero and a 10-20 minute cab ride to all the other amazing neighborhoods. We had a great time !! One thing to note: The apt is on the third floor - no elevator; so its a small workout if you have alot of luggage.
