This Condo was finished in early 2006 and still looks great! It is located at the Colony II at Oyster Bay directly across the street from the Intracoastal Waterway on the mainland (NOT the barrier island).
A scenic two mile drive along the Intracoastal Waterway will take you to the historic Sunset Beach Swing Bridge. This year (2010) is the last year that the bridge will be operational. Once you cross the bridge, you will be at Sunset Beach with its wide sloping beach made of natural sand. Once there, you can enjoy sunning, swimming, shelling, fishing, and beautiful sunsets. There is a free public parking, a handicap ramp with a gazebo at the pier and a shower for rinsing off. I also provide a parking pass for the paid parking lot. You can rent a bicycle or walk down to the North Carolina Coastal Reserve of Bird Island to look for shells, leave a message in the Kindred Spirits mailbox and enjoy the serenity there. Nearby Ocean Isle Beach offers the Coastal Museum of North Carolina, miniature golf and several restaurants.
There are more than twenty golf courses nearby including Oyster Bay, The Thistle, Sandpiper Bay, The Pearl, Sea Trails, Lion’s Paw, Tiger’s Eye, Crow Creek, Brunswick Plantation, Meadowlands and many more. And don't forget the seafood!! Calabash ,"The Seafood Capital of the World" is less than 3 miles away. Enjoy the outlet shopping, entertainment, and restaurants of North Myrtle Beach (10 miles south of Calabash.) Myrtle Beach is just beyond there. The new highways in the Myrtle Beach area make it an easy trip to outlet shopping, dining and entertainment at Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach. Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park - complete with a castle - Southport and Wilmington are within an hours drive.
Or simply relax and enjoy the amenities that Colony II has to offer - an outdoor and indoor pool, hot tub, an exercise room, BBQ grills and picnic tables. If you decide to eat in, there are several groceries conveniently located nearby and our kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Or avoid the lines and pick up a take out seafood order from Calabash - we are so close that those famous hush puppies and shrimp will still be piping hot when you bring them back.
Our Condominium is located on the second floor right by the elevator. The high ceilings, the bright open rooms and the nautical decor make it a wonderful place to relax. The bedrooms are carpeted and the bathrooms, entry hall and kitchen have ceramic tile. The kitchen is open to the great room separated by a bar. The great room has two double French doors leading to the covered deck overlooking the pool. There is a TV, DVD player, DVDs, games, books for your use. The dining area seats six. A free broadband/wireless Internet connection is available for your use. All bedrooms have their own cable TV.
It is well stocked with cooking utensils, serving dishes, silverware and glassware and all common appliances.
The master bedroom suite has a king-size bed, large walk-in closet, and a spacious bathroom with double sinks and a full shower with seat. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with white furnishings and TV. The third bedroom has twin beds,TV/DVD player and phone. The second bathroom with shower and tub is located in the entry way by these two bedrooms. A washer and dryer, hairdryers, iron and ironing board are also available.
ADDITIONAL RENTAL INFORMATION:
Bed linens, bath towels and pool towels are provided free of charge. Please bring your own beach towels.
NO SMOKING OR PETS ALLOWED
Reservation Fee is 1/2 total payment including the $100 security deposit. The security deposit is fully refundable providing no damage or missing items. Payment is due upon receipt on the contract. Payment #2 is due 30 days before rental. If reservation is made less than 30 days before the rental then the whole amount is due at the time the reservation is made. Payment may be with a credit card using Paypal or by check (if rental period is at least two weeks away).

Refund of the remaining deposit funds will be mailed to you upon successful completion of contractual agreement.

Stayed here for a week the middle of September. Have stayed at other units in this complex and this one is by far the best! We love the Sunset Beach aera and visited every summer for the last 10 years. This unit has everything you could possible need and more. We had a very minor injury that we needed a bandaid and there was even a first aid kit. It was clean, nice and great location. Hope to visit soon and often!

This Condo exceeded my expectations! It was CLEAN, modern and very spacious. My son loved the convenience of the pool (indoor and outdoor pools available). The location was perfect and the people (other renters and owners) were very friendly. The condo had everything one would need for a relaxing stay. I plan on coming back again next year!

We vacationed at Sunset Beach this year, and chose this condo after finding the listing on VRBO. The description of the property was accurate, and it was the perfect place for us. Since we came after labor day, the area was very quiet. Not too many folks around. The pools and hot tub were very nice, and never crowded. It was very clean and well maintained. We found everything we needed to prepare meals. There are gorcery stores nearby. We used the pier parking pass a couple of times, but the free lot wasn't full when we were there. We had good luck fishing during our stay too. The elevator made loading and unloading easy. Wireless internet worked well. Location is close enough to Myrtle Beach to visit without a long drive. We went down a couple of times. Good seafood in Calabash, just a couple minutes away. The pizza at Tony's in Calabash was outstanding. We kept in touch with Kay via email, and she was very quick to respond to questions. This was for sure one of the more memorable vacations for us, and we'll be returning. Highly recommended.

We stayed the week of July 16, 2011. The condo appears new and all finishes and furnishings are of a higher quality than you would expect in a rental. The complex is quaint (in a good way), the pool right behind the building was nice, and having an elevator in the building was a nice surprise for moving in/out. Location is great for golf with Oyster Bay and Sea Trail right down the street. Also excellent for dining and shopping with Calabash right down the street the other way. The Aquasino in Little River is only 10 minutes away and worth the trip. Last but not least, you just can't beat Sunset Beach. Clean, wide and great tidal pools for the kids to play in. Super trip! What a relaxing, perfect vacation we just experienced at Sunset Beach! We were delighted at the clean, well stocked condo with a lovely decor! The fact that we had a choice of going to the beach just 2 miles away or swimming in the pool was an added luxury. My family is getting older now and it was so nice to be able to stay in a place that was a little quieter than the bustle of Myrtle Beach, yet close enough to have some night life if desired. I would recommend this condo in a heartbeat! Perfect!

We just returned from a week at Sunset beach and had a great experience. The Condo was top notch and fully stocked. I don't think I have ever had a better week of sleep than I had last week. Condo is situated a short drive from the beach and away from the hustle and congestion of Myrtle Beach, but close enough to drive if needed. The kids lived in the pool daily and enjoyed the beach. This is also a perfect place for a golf group as it's right next store to Oyster Bay Golf Links which is a top notch course and within a quick drive of a dozen golf courses.

Just got back this evening and had a wonderful time at Sunset Beach. The condo was beautiful and was equipped just like I was at home! It was very peaceful and I enjoyed relaxing and reading on the balcony. It's just a short drive from all the great restaurants in Calabash. I will definitely stay here again when I am in the area. If you are looking for a great spot in Sunset Beach, you will not be disappointed. Located just minutes from the beach, this condo is A+. From start to finish, Kay is great to deal with and provides tons of good information. The condo is exactly as pictured - actually nicer. Clean, welcoming with personal touches everywhere. Very welcoming and well maintained. We've visited the area for years and stayed at many other places - this is by far the best. The beach pass is a really nice treat in the peak season! During our stay we emailed Kay with a question and she responded immediately. I cannot say enough good things. From the plush towels to everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, attention to detail is everywhere. Stay here and you will not be disappointed. It will be our top pick every time.

We enjoyed our week and found the unit and facilities to be in excellent condition! The decor is so tastefully done. The unit overlooks the pool which was convenient for our many "water adventures" with our grandson. The unit was clean and inviting and was filled with everything we needed! The kitchen was well stocked. The "welcome gifts" and note from the owner were much appreciated and a very special touch! We will definitely consider visiting again next summer!!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Kay's condo. The place was beautiful and the complex was wonderful. The kids did not want to leave the pool area. The beach was only a minutes from the condo as well as other amenities. The entire area was not too crowded and easy to get around. Looking forward to our next trip and staying for a full week next time. Thank you Kay for everything.
