We started renting them in 2006 and families had so much fun they have returned for a longer stay. Our minimum stay is 2 nights on regular weekends and 3 on holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year 4nt/min). Cabin 1 is the "fishing cabin" with log on the outside and fishing decor. It is the first one and lower on the hill. Cabin 2 is higher on the hill and has a "wildlife" theme. Cabin 3 is the newest and perched the highest on the hill, thus named "The Eagle's Nest". It also has a little larger living room with a flat screen tv, but at present time is the only one that doesn't have a washer and dryer. Cabin 4 is the "ski cabin" and has sky lights and a vaulted ceiling. We have one more cabin left on the property that we are restoring which will be the Ponderosa and bunk house. This will be great for larger groups or families and will sleep up to 12. Cabin five is scheduled to be available hopefully Memorial Day, 2008.
We are located in a quiet wooded area with big ponderosa pine trees, but within walking distance to the local favorites, Fred's Lake, Munich House Restaurant (dining on the water), Charlie Clark's Restaurant and Bar (great beer garden and sometimes live music), Eddie,s Country Store (great meats and novelty jams and sauces) the famous Red Devil Pizza Place (takes 3 days for them to prepare their secret dough but their service is fast and food is GREAT!) and Mexican delights like Los Corrales and El Rancho.
If you like to relax, read a book on the front porch swing or watch the birds and nature. Barbeque and eat with a great view. Play cards, do crosswords and just relax and escape from hectic city life. Don't be surprised if you happen to see a little gnome.
Adventure more your style? Explore the town, take the scenic mile walk around Woodland Park Lake or hike the woods. This is a great place to find small antique shops, mom and pop businesses, movies and more.
For recreation, we are 3 miles from the Apache HonDah Casino, 2 miles from Pinetop Lakes Country Club, and 35 minutes from the turn off to Sunrise Ski Resort. The area is great for hunting and fishing. If you do not have a annual fishing license, you can fish on the plentiful reservation lakes with just a day permit. For the kids, take them go-carting, miniature golf or skiing. Kids enjoy exploring the area and looking for horny toads and other small animals.
Great place to share or create memories. You have the comforts of home in Nature's backyard. WE ARE PET FRIENDLY. PLEASE INQUIRE IF BRINING A PET.

Pinetop is located in the White Mountains. It is about 35 mins from Sunrise Ski Resort. The cabins are very close to fishing, hiking, golf, movies, restaurants, go karting, and lots of fun things to do.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The cabins are built on the side of a hill and nice and shady. It is private and a great place for weddings, family reunions, weekend get aways and family vacations. Cabin 5 is a great place for a honeymoon with a private outdoor hot tub and wonderful views.
Owner's Map of Pinetop
Pete and Sue Strebe are the owners of Pinetop Vista Cabins. One day in 2005 a friend showed us the property and it was love at first sight. We really weren't looking for cabins but the location and feel of the area was so great we couldn't pass it up. Our son and his wife got married on the property last year and that was very memorable. We are still getting comments on the beautiful wedding.

Thank you very much for the stay. We had a very good time. We enjoyed going to Big Lake and to White River. Both places were good fishing spots and we also enjoyed seeing all the wild life around the cabin and on the way to the lake. We had such a good time that we will be returning soon. Thanks a lot!

We cannot begin in words to describe our stay here. Pete treated us better than family from the moment we arrived. He opened his heart and home and made us feel so comfortable that we don't want to leave. Also our son was so happy to be here, he is thinking about moving already. We just ask one thing the next time we come here, please have a cabin for us...somehow, because we don't want to stay anywhere else.

Words cannot express our gratitude for your kindness and thoughtfulness during our stay at your wonderful cabin #2. It was so nice to come "home" each night. We definitely plan to return. We will be spreading the word in the valley about the enchanting Pinetop Vista Cabins. Thank you so much for everything.

Thank you for the wonderful stay here at cabin #2. It was really nice to get out of the Phoenix heat for a few days and we enjoyed watching the afternoon thunderstorms roll in. Our 4 year old and 1 1/2 year old loved playing outside on the deck and thought it was really neat that there was a bear sighting near the cabin the day before we arrived. We ventured down to Hawley Lake to take the girls fishing for the first time--even though we didn't catch anything--the girls loved running around picking flowers. It is absolutely beautiful there. We also tried out Fred's Lake down the road. The girls love trying to catch the fish with their nets--again, no catch, but we had lots of fun. Charlie Clark's and El Rancho Mexican food was good eats, too. We hope to come back soon and bring relatives and friends along with us. Thanks again for the memories!
