Maybe catch the hum of a farm tractor in the distance or the low of cattle grazing in a neighbor's field? Our cottage could fit the bill for you.
Sitting in the little community of Mount Lookout, West Virginia, the cottage is very conveniently located near Route 19 and right in the middle of tourism country. Eleven minutes to the South you will find The New River Gorge Bridge, the longest arch bridge in the Western Hemisphere, home of Bridge Day and the hub of whitewater rafting in the area. Ten minutes to the North brings you to The Summersville Lake known as "The Little Bahamas of the East".
The cottage sits on one and a half acres with plenty of elbow room for you to enjoy the outdoors. The volleyball net is always available along with basketball, croquet, badminton, and horseshoes. Located just a little over a mile from The Meadow River and fishing, the cottage sleeps six plus a small trundle for one or two more little ones. One bedroom has a queen bed while the other bedroom has two full beds, the trundle and a library you are welcome to use.
We offer a fully-equipped, eat-in kitchen with an authentic 1949 Frigidaire refrigerator that purrs like a kitten. Washer and dryer and all linens are provided. Our cottage has roots and history that go deep into the mountains of West Virginia. So for a peaceful change of pace, come on down the lane, kick your shoes off, and sit a spell.
