Just two hours from Atlanta, Ga., high in the clouds of the highest city in northeast Georgia, this quaint yellow cottage is absolutely breath-taking in the spring - rhododendrum everywhere! The cottage is just four miles from Dillard, Ga. and 10 miles from Highlands, NC. There are two living levels (one kitchen), two woodburning fireplaces, wrap around porches on both levels with private entries at each level.
From each deck area you can enjoy the beautiful mountain views! The cottage has three private bedrooms, with the downstairs housing one of the bedrooms and baths, twin beds in 'dormitory' style, a futon, (an inflatable elevated twin bed),TV, small refrigerator and living room area. This home is NOT a duplex but adds a degree of privacy for other family or friends in the downstairs area.
Less than two miles from the cottage is a lovely waterfall, unknown to most outsiders. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy Sky Valley's 18 hole golf course of which the last nine are being rebuilt. Plans for Sky Valley from a group of investors in Atlanta, Georgia are to rebuild the lodge area and turn it into a city of shops, restaurants, and new lodge. This group rennovated ski resorts in Utah.
Guests will also enjoy the numerous activities including arts and crafts festivals, boutique shopping in Highlands, NC, hiking, snow tubing, fishing, boating at both Lake Rabun and Lake Burton.
Guests will never tire of the many flea markets and festivals which occur regularly each weekend. This is a perfect escape for more than one family in their own private area or for a family wishing to have a reunion.
