Called the "Duck Stop", this mostly air-conditioned vacation home sleeps 12-14 and is a quad-level, located in a highly-desirable residential resort area on beautiful all sports Duck Lake, approximately 2,000 acres in size. Just 12 minutes southwest of Traverse City, the house is so close to everything you need on your vacation such as grocery stores, entertainment, and restaurants.

Spend all day relaxing on the deck of this home overlooking the lake while the kids play volleyball and other games in the yard while others cruise the lake fishing for trout, northern pike, perch and pan fish. The size of the lake affords great opportunities for tubing, jet skis, or just taking sunset cruises on a rented pontoon boat. After a fun day on the lake or enjoying the many local activities, come back and soak in the private lakeside hot tub.

"The Duck Stop" is only five minutes from Interlochen Center for the Arts, 25 minutes to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort, 12 minutes to all of the festivities and attractions in downtown Traverse City such as West Bay watersports, theatres, fine restaurants, malls and boutique shopping in the old historic buildings of the downtown area, cinemas, miniature golf and water parks. There are also over 27 golf courses in the area with over 18 local wineries within an easy drive of the home.

Casinos are also about 30 minutes away. Come for the new Beach Bums pioneer baseball played at beautiful Muerfel stadium which is only five minutes away as is the Grawn horse show and county fair. Antique shops are also scattered throughout the area in many small villages within an hours drive. Snowmobile trails are about five minutes drive (Grand Traverse groomed trails).

This property accommodates 12 comfortably is completely furnished with all the amenities for a great family vacation. You have additional space for toddler and infant cribs and beds in the lakeside family room as well as Master Bedroom and perhaps 3rd bedroom. Four bedrooms and three baths, as well as a split floor plan, permit family members to spend time together or get away in their own space for reading or watching TV. There are two bedrooms with two twin beds each, one with a double, and there is a queen in the master bedroom. Additional sleeping is provided on two queen sleeper sofas in the lower family room overlooking the lake.

The shoreline area is free of natural vegetation and the lake bottom is not rocky. Experienced swimmers will love swimming in the lake and toddlers and young children can have a great time in the shallow water accompanied by their parents. There is a sitting area close to the lake and under a tree where adults can sit and watch while the toddlers play or gather round the firepit later at night.

In the morning and evening hours, you will hear the call of loons which inhabit the lake in three separate areas. There is nothing better in the mornings that enjoying your coffee on the deck listening to the loons and watching as the sun rises over the lake.

Duck Lake is unlike any lake in the area; scenic, spacious and quiet, yet your family can enjoy any of its water sports on the lake. The peninsula that this home is located on provides a great place to enjoy walking or biking around both the sunrise and sunset sides of the lake. Tennis courts and community playground are also within walking distance of the house.

Cable TV is provided along with games and books for adults and children alike. All linens and towels provided and there is a fully equipped kitchen.
