We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway at this cabin. It's secluded and peaceful, perfect for sitting on the porch listening to the gentle flowing creek out front. Cabin is well decorated and exactly as described. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

What a lovely luxury cabin! We spent a week and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, the creek with huge rocks; we watched movies and read; there were several good reading spots in the cabin with good lighting. We hiked on nearby trails; we enjoyed kayaking nearby at Cortecay. The owners were so gracious and helpful. The kitchen was quite nice, as well as the washer and dryer. The upstairs bedroom with its own sitting area was especially nice. The hot tub was a real treat. The cabin was clean and neat and nicely decorated and comfortable. The screened in front porch was so delightful! We didn't fish but lots of visitors there do and catch trout. It was a wonderful week!

We had a great time at the cabin. The location is beautiful and the pictures do not do justice to the place. Our children spent their days tubing up and down the creek and they loved it, we also enjoyed the recreation center at the resort. One day we went tubing in the river for 21/2 hours, a really fun thing to do.. We also drove to a really beautiful town called Dahlonega, to the falls and to the gold mine. We cannot wait to come back. It was a wonderful experience and I cannot say enough about Sarah, it was excellent to deal with. I forgot something at the cabin and she shipped it to me immediately. The house was so nicely decorated, with attention to detail and I loved the floors!! Thank you Sarah for letting us share your place...

So first off, this place is a little piece of heaven in the woods. It is very cozy and peaceful. I met Katherine on Eharmony.com and this weekend (11-13 Feb 2011) was very special for us, for this weekend Katherine agreed to be my wife. I couldn't think of a better place to have proposed. The cabin is really cozy and is right on the river. The fireplace warms the cabin well and if you open the door or the window, you can hear the river (trout stream) really well. It is a very peaceful sound. The hot tub is very perfect and is great regardless how cold it is outside. You don't feel the cold air when your in it. There is tons to do in the area and if you choose there is even a chef that will come to the cabin, cook a wonderful meal for you and even clean up afterwards. We will be returning in the near future again. I will also be recommending this cabin to lots of my friends in the future. Sarah is great to work with and she can help you make any week or weekend special. Kris and Katherine

Just returned home from a wonderful Labor Day weekend at River Rest. Highly recommend this cozy cabin Our family had a wonderful time wading in beautiful Mountaintown Creek, hiking in the nearby Cohuttas, and picking apples. The owner was very nice and called to make sure everything was OK. There is a cabin next door but it still feels pretty isolated.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us! This truly is a peaceful place. The location of the cabin is fantastic. It is secluded, but so close to everything. The cabin, itself, is lovely and so comfy. We really enjoyed the large screened porch, overlooking the beautiful creek each morning and night. There is nothing more relaxing than listening to water running over the rocks in the creek. The owner was great to work with and made sure everything was in order for us. Once again thank you it was wonderful and exactly what we needed.

We had the most relaxing vacation ever at River Rest!!! I would call this cabin: rustic elegance. The furnishing are beautiful. Everything is high end. From the kitchen to the linens, nothing but the best! It literally sits on the river. The only thing between you and the water is a single lane dirt road. We loved it and plan to return soon.

We stayed at River Rest in October 2009. The pictures are exactly what you will get when you stay here. Sitting on the patio listening to the creek was just so relaxing. The owner was very helpful when we called with a hot tub temperature concern. The first time you drive to the house can be a bit concerning as you drive along the creek with little room on either side. But do it a few times and you will relax. We even had massages at the house - they came to us.We left each morning to do the touristy stuff and came back later afternoon for drinks and relaxing on the patio. The guys would BBQ and then we'd sit in the hot tub. It was too cold for us to enjoy the creek for anything other than listening to it.

Thank you so much for a great long weekend. The cabin was beautiful! The "hot pool" was a hit with the kids as well as the short drive to the pool. We had so much fun splashing in the creek and seeing who could count the most deer! Again, thank you so much or a great weekend. Tim and Karen

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this beautifully furnished cabin in the woods by a wonderful rushing and somewhat noisy river. Everything was perfect, we liked the area so much we purchased 'a little log cabin' in the woods!

Sarah, Thank you so much for the beautiful weekend that my husband and I spent for our anniversary at your cabin. I was just thinking the other day how truly wonderful it was. It is so nice to get away from it all and it was wonderfully cozy and inviting. The personal phone call from you upon our arrival was a welcome touch. Can't wait to come again. What a treasure you have.

Thank you Sarah for the use of your cozy cabin, a.k.a the Tree House according to our 3 year old. The setting was perfect for a family looking to escape the urban sprawl of Atlanta for a few days. We did a lot of nothing, just sitting in the river, looking for fish, and trips in to Ellijay. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. My wife and I desperately needed a getaway that was quiet, secluded, peaceful, and filled with beauty. I think my wife took more tips on decorating from your cabin, which has such a unique blend of rustic, cottage, and antique, that I may end up haing to execute them at our home :) We loved wading in the river, reading and eating on the porch, and we even swung on the rope swing. This was exactly what we needed for our wedding anniversary, and we thank you for being so thoughtful to welcome us with a gift.

Sarah, We had a wonderful time up in the mountains. Our favorite place in the cabin was sitting on the porch and listening to the river below us. The cabin's decorations were great. Loved the rustic feel with the modern conveniences. Thanks for such a great place to go and just relax. Thanks again, Angela Huelster

Heard about your cabin by researching the Internet. We LOVED it here! The cabin is absolutely adorable--we spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace, grilling, and in the hot tub. It was very cold outside when we were here, which was perfect for us -- it even snowed once. Thank you so much, as we hope to be back here soon!

My husband and I came up in February to celebrate our 22nd anniversary. We arrived about 9 pm on Friday night and left about 1 pm on Sunday, but even though it was such a short stay, we felt rejuvenated! The world truly stopped for a short while. I have been to several mountain cabins in north Georgia, but this cabin and location are the best I have experienced - the cozy fireplace, the sound of the creek, the comfortable porches, the warm hot tub, the gorgeous beds, the kitchen and grill where we had a few fabulous meals. Thanks so much for sharing your getaway with us. It is one of the best kept secrets in north Georgia!

Unlike a lot of rentals you find on line, we were pleasantly surprised that River Rest was everything it said it was and more. This place is identical to the pictures - completely secluded with just a few nearby cabins and incredibly peaceful. We went for new Years so we can't attest tot he tubing, but we did love just walking outside the cabin and stepping into the river to fish - very convenient! The cabin itself is charming and rustic, but with modern conveniences so you don't feel like you are roughing it. An amazing kitchen - we ate like kings and a great porch that overlooks the river. Highly, highly recommend it - we will certainly go back!

SarahThank you again for squeezing us in on such late notice. The cabin and location are really great! Being a veteran of Blue Ridge cabin renting, I particularly enjoyed the fact we didn’t need to hassle with all the BR traffic and how you’ve made it so easy to check-in and out. The noise from the river's rapids just below the windows and porch is priceless. To say the least, you did a tremendous job with the entire decor and its Northwood’s ambience. Have a nice holiday Patrick

We truly enjoyed our honeymoon stay at your River Rest cabin. We spent our time travelling to mountain cities surrounding the area, and relaxing here. It was wonderful here. We loved the view and sounds of the river. This stay was just what we needed to relax and unwind after many stressful months planning the wedding that was more than we ever dreamed it could be. We're so glad your cabin was a part of this very special time in our lives. God Bless.
