Landscaping includes native Ohia in naturally forested areas, as well as cultivated palms, tree ferns, kukui (candlenut) tree, banana, papaya, tangerine, hibiscus, fragrant ginger and gardenias, orchids, bromeliads, and a variety of other tropical plants. A gazebo and pond with trickling waterfall and water lilies help relax and soothe at the end of a busy day.

Kapoho- 30 minutes away: "Champagne Ponds" Snorkel in a large, protected ocean tidal pool teeming with tropical fish and colorful corals; Ahalanui Beach Park- Swim in a geothermally-warmed seawater pond, view sea turtles from the adjoining break wall.
Kalapana Black Sand Beach- 30 minutes: Sun bathe on a new black sand beach created by wave action against recent lava flows in the area.
