My fiance and his parents, and my parents and I stayed at the cottage for a weekend in April to do some wedding research. It was a perfect way for our parents to get to know each other and spend time together. Comfortable and the view was great!

We recently spent a week at this spacious and comfortable cottage. It was great to have our dogs along with us! Everyone enjoyed a room and bathroom of their own. It was convenient to fix meals in the kitchen and access to a washer/dryer was great. It was a real treat to watch the horses on Carrot Island from the deck in the mornings. It was quite hot and humid during our week so the central ac was a huge plus - it did keep us from walking into town (just a 15 minute stroll). We found plenty to do in the area from scuba diving to sailing to visitng the Maritime Museum and even mini-golf! We all had a great time from the canines to the teenagers to the parents!

Three families came from four different places and time to have a vacation. There were six adults and four children ranging from eight months to eight years of age. We found the house very well equipt and clean though out and flexable for the children. We cooked inside and out, played games (provided) late into the night, spotted horses and boaters daily, walked to town, and did several night city tours, explored with the bicycles the old parts of the city, and enjoyed the boating from the docks in town. Morehead City was easy to get to for shopping, the beach, aquarium and the restuaunts were excellent in both cities. We all agreed the location of the house to so much made the vacation a pleasure.

We had a marvelous St. Patrick's Day weekend at the Beaufort Bungalow to celebrate a birthday. The house and furnishings were wonderful and the house was immaculate! Staying there was so much better than staying in a hotel of any kind. The bed was very comfortable. We love to cook so having access to the large kitchen was perfect for us. We spent Sat. afternoon at Cape Lookout checking out future kayaking and tent camping possibilities. We loved the location and quietness. We could not believe there was even a computer there to use! The house would be great for a weekend gathering for any family. We will definitely use it again! It was also very nice to meet Mr. Fallon, the owner when he stopped by.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bungalow the weekend before Christmas. We found everything well appointed and clean. Our two dogs also loved it, especially the fenced front yard where they could go out and check out the neighborhood dogs walking by. We will stay again and would recommend it to our friends.

I arrived at the Beaufort Cottage a single woman and left married!! It was wonderful. The house was so children friendly. I entertained all my family while there. We exchanged our commitment to each other in the living room and my brother Capt. Joe Darden prepared the most awesome seafood bash ever served. What wonderful memories we made!! Thanks Kathy for being such a help! Neecie & Bonnie

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was so quiet and off the beaten path, but still close to the shops and restaurants that we could walk to. We come home to NC every year for family get togethers and will be sure to come back to the cottage.

We had a very, nice and enjoyable weekend in October at Beaufort Bungalow. The home was exceptional, we actually heard rain for the first time in weeks, and the views were magnificent. The Morehead Seafood Festival was in full swing but we had more fun during our brief visit in the house than the event in Morehead City. Hope to be able to visit again and will encourage our relatives to visit as well. Thanks again. Cindy and Sean Kane Sanford, NC

We recently had our third stay at the Beaufort Bungalow and as usual everyone thoroughly enjoyed it (especially our dogs). The house is well equipped and clean and the beds are very comfortable. There is always so much to do with the beach nearby, the shopping, and the restaurants. This year we tried two new ones, Aqua and the Crab Claw and both were really great and we highly recommend them. I know that we will be back next year and are already looking forward to coming down to beautiful Beaufort!

This was our first stay at Beaufort Cottage, but we have visited the area before. Overall, the house was very pleasant. The location on Front St was great, and we especially enjoyed the views from the deck. The neighborhood was very quiet which is very important to us. We also liked the fact that all the cleaning and tax had already been added in so that the price I saw on the website was what we paid. I loved the idea of just giving you my credit number to hold for damages or extra charges instead of having to give a secruity deposit - very practical! The one area we thought could be improved is the master bedroom. We think it's time to replace the mattress; it was not great for sleeping comfortably. Also, some better mini-blinds and/or curtains to darken the bedroom would be a welcome addition.
Owner response:We value our guests observations and comments. As a result of this comment, several of the Master Bedroom's shades/blinds are being replaced this Saturday during the turnover cleaning. As far as the mattresses are concerned - they are more of an individual's personal comfort as far as firmness etc. We have had more than several comments in the past about them - all positive and at least two inquiries as to their exact brand so that these individuals could purchase the same ones.

A good beginning is so very important in a "promising" relationship. Our week-long stay at 97 Sunset Lane in beautiful Beaufort provided an almost unbelievable backdrop for just such a relationship. Not having seen the condo prior to our arrival, we breathed a combined sigh of relief that quickly turned into an instant feeling of being "at home". Actually "nestled" in the middle of this historic town, the warmth that "97" generates makes us imagine what it's like here on a crisp Fall day. Hum-m-m-m. The linens, the well equipped kitchen, and nicely appointed bathrooms were all pluses. Being so close to all 'the happenings' (Morehead, Atlantic Beach, the Maritime Museum, Cape Lookout (we did the climb!); the great shops on Front Street) was an added bonus. We truly feel that we'll return to 97 Sunset Lane many times in the future - each time marking another milestone in this "promising" relationship. Thanks Kathy (you were GREAT), Bill and Ellie. Thanks, too for returning the adapters we left behind!!!

My husband, children and I met my sister and her kids at the East Coast half-way point (she's in Florida, we're in New York) and had a very enjoyable Christmas at the cottage together. We did our own cooking for every meal except Xmas eve (the kitchen was pretty well equipped although some sharper knives would have been welcome). Finding a restaurant open on Xmas eve proved challenging, but happily we found the Crab Claw and had a very enjoyable time there. We were blessed with warm, balmy weather on the Saturday of our long weekend so we explored Fort Macon and went to the aquarium. Kathy was very thorough in her instructions so there were no unwecome surprises. All in all we had a wonderful stay.

We got married in August in Beaufort. We stayed at the Cottage and rented the Sunset Ln condo and Beaufort Bungalow for our guests. We all had a wonderful time. The accomodations were outstanding. Bill was so helpful and accomodating when we were working out our arrangements. Beaufort is an idyllic spot. We would highly recommend a visit to anyone. The wild horses were amazing. We watched them every morning over coffee from the deck at the Cottage. Thanks for a wonderful time.

I can't remember when we have had a more enjoyable time, vacation or not. There were 8 of us and there was ample room for all of us. There was so much to see and do in Beaufort. Ponywatching, museums, great food, boatbuilding, kayaking, boat trips and etc. We even had a tropical storm while we were there and the Fallons let us stay another day.Great, friendly folks. A neighborhood kitty, Itney, visited us everyday and got treats from all of us. I would definitely recommend this vacation place.

We spent Memorial Day at Beaufort Cottage with our toddler (2 1/2 year old) and had a great time. The cottage is relatively childproof (actually had child locks to use!!) and has a big back yard for running. We could see the ponies from the upper deck every morning and he loved it. We went to the aquarium which is just the right size and has a GREAT shark tank that goes all the way to the floor for toddlers to see everything. Although the beach is a car ride away (10 minutes max) there was never any traffic and we enjoyed being in a town rather on the beach. We'll be back, but next time will take more people so that the adults outnumber the kids at least 2 to 1 to allow more flexibility to do the historic district and non-toddler friendly activities that Beaufort has to offer. I envy those who have the cottage reserved for the tall ships in July, that should be spectacular.

Three couples stayed in the Bungalow on the weekend of May 19 through May 21. We all have nothing but positive comments to make about the rental. The house is really nice and is set up so that three couples can have privacy but then enjoy the public areas. This was so much better than staying in a motel or hotel. The weather was not wonderful on Saturday, but we enjoyed our stay very much. Beaufort is a lovely little town and the waterfront is beautiful. We will stay again at this rental if we come back to Beaufort. We highly recommend the Bungalow.

Four generations of my family spent a wonderful weekend in Beaufort celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Sunset Lane Condos. Both condos were beautifully decorated, spotless, and equipped with everything and anything you would ever need. My parents live in Wisconsin and we very rarely have a chance to all get together for any amount of time. The condos were perfect for this - lots of room so everyone could have their own space and big enough so we could all eat together and visit without sitting on top of each other. The location is perfect too. Nice and quiet but close enough to everything (beaches, shops, restaurants and museums) so that no one will get bored. Bill and Ellie were wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. We haved always loved coming to Beaufort, but now have found a perfect place to stay. We are hoping to make this an annual event. I highly recommend these properties to anyone!

The wife and I stayed at the Bungalow from Feb 17th-19th, 2006 for a nice birthday/getaway weekend. We needed a place that would accomodate our beloved dog Sophie (aka Stinky Dog) and the Bungalow fit the bill. Extremely spacious and well detailed throughout with antiques and comfortable furnishings. The place doesn't look that big from the street but it is extremely spacious inside. Close enough to downtown Beaufort and plenty of sidewalk for those nice long walks that the Stinker likes to go on early in the mornings. Ate at the "Grocery" which was excellent and "Stillwater's" which ok, but not as good as the "Grocery". Hope to be back in the fall fro my birthday this time. Till then.....

Childhood friends celebrated their 60th birthdays with their mothers who were celebrating their 80+ birthdays at the Beaufort Bungalow. "We loved the cozy cottage and the pickette fence, the garden area in front and back and the beautiful corkscrew willow tree. Beaufort has lots of great places to eat. We took a class on needle tatting at the visitor center that was inspiring. We hope to make a return visit to the bungalow."

December 30, 2005-January 2, 2006 Our stay at Beaufort Cottage was very comfortable and alot of fun. Six friends celebrated the New Year in Beaufort together for the first time and had a memorable weedend. A good restaurant is Aqua on Middle Lane for all that read this. The house was cozy and private enough for 3 couples, the kitchen was good to cook in(just needs new pots) and it was nice to have a dining area big enough for 6 adults to fellowship together at mealtimes. The porch was nice with the swing and rocking chairs and the neighbors were very helpful. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we tell all what a lovely place it is and hopefully come back soon.

We loved the house! We come to Beaufort every year and we now plan to come back to this house every year! It was a great location--close to downtown and very close to the boat ramp. The front porch was great with the rockers and swing--a great place for breakfast and that first cup of coffee. We spent our time on the boat and at Shackleford Island. We found fabulous conch shells one day when the big waves were bringing them up to the beach. The kitchen was great at the house--we cooked some meals there and also ate at The Net House which was as good as it is every year.

Fantastic time! Team First Light stayed the week after Christmas. We came for the world famous BIG GAME FISHING off the coastline of NC. The weather was perfect for our offshore excursions. It didn't take long before we learned where the BIG ones were schooled up. We lost a few and eventually caught and released 2 monster Giant Bluefin Tunas! The first was 7 ft. long and approx. 325 lbs. The other was a bit over 8 ft. long and something north of 400 lbs.!!! These are the most sought after fish in all of the oceans. The Japanese crave the bluefin tuna's meat for sushi. We crave these fish for the excitement, thrill and everlasting memories to catch and release such majestics animals. We hope to return soon.

Hello! Our family spent the week of July 19-26 in Beaufort Cottage! What a great vacation! The house was larger than suspected and clean upon arrival. We ate at the Dock House and at Frost's on Emerald Isle. We had pizza from No Name Pizza. We visited three different beaches -- Fort Macon, Indian Beach and Atlantic Beach. I think the kids agreed that Indian Beach was the best. It was great for shells! On the Wednesday of our week there, we drove to Cedar Island and took the ferry to Ocracoke. (Pack a lunch as the ferry ride is 2 hours and 40 minutes!) We ate at Captain Ben's on Ocracoke and drove up to Hatteras and on north. Crossed back to the mainland at Roanoake and home through the beautiful country of North Carolina. This was our most enjoyable vacation yet! We left four boogie boards in the garage for someone else to use and enjoy! I highly recommend this wonderful cottage! Thanks Bill and Ellie and Kathy for all your help! Debra May Carmel, IN

We visited Fort Macon, went to Indian Beach quite a few times, and took the "Cape Lookout Express". We also enjoyed breakfast at the Anchor Inn and had a scrumptious dinner at Clawson's! The house was well stocked and we enjoyed just relaxing and drinking wine on the upper deck! There was plenty of room for everyone, including the two dogs! We hope to visit again someday!! We had the most enjoyable vacation ever. We stayed the week of July 5th, 2003. The weather was beautiful the entire time. The house was very comfortable and had everything we desired. I, being a chef, was very impressed with all the kitchen equipment. I was able to bake pies, make crab for 8 people and cook ribs on the grill. It was so peaceful, especially at 6:00 a.m. on the front porch with a warm breeze blowing, sitting in a rocker, drinking my first cup of coffee and watching the horses play on Carrot Island. Emma jumped the fence to come play with our dog, Banfi. They had a ball. It was so nice to be able to bring her with us. She really enjoyed playing in the ocean with us. Our first nights dinner was at the Beaufort Grocery. WOW!!! I got burried up to my kneecaps in muck. Don't walk in the oyster beds- ha, ha!!! We will definately be back.

We had a FANTASTIC 4-day stay in Beaufort, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations! The Beaufort Cottage was perfect!! GREAT location (we walked into town every chance we got), nice neighbors (EVERYONE is friendly in Beaufort!), and there wasn't a thing we were in need of at the cottage -- it had it all!! Ate at a couple of GREAT restaurants - Beaufort Grocery Co. and Front Street Grill. We REALLY enjoyed being able to walk throughout the historic district, and put in a number of miles doing just that! Fantastic museum. The Old Burying Ground is a definite must-see. Loved watching the wild horses on Carrot Island. We also visited Ft. Macon; went birding on the nature trails of the fort and the aquarium; walked the beaches and went shell collecting at Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle; and rented a charter boat out of Morehead City for wahoo and yellow fin tuna fishing, which we were very successful at. And at the end of each busy day we enjoyed coming "home" to the cottage and sitting on the front porch in the rocking chairs and reminiscing about the fun day we had just experienced. Ahhhhhhhh.........we miss it already!! We'll DEFINITELY be back!!

What a lovely stay we had at Beaufort House! We are four couples that are best friends who always try to find the perfect New Year's Eve getaway. Beaufort House topped all of the places we stayed in years past. We literally ooh'd, ahh'd and squealed with delight when we saw the front porch with swing, the spiral staircase, the upstairs gathering room with bar and the upstairs porch. Our first night there, we saw dolphins swimming in the waterway across the street. Jellyfish glowed in the dark waterway. The next morning, we woke up to see wild ponies basking in the early sun on the island across the way. The house was in the best location, being only a few blocks from beautiful downtown Beaufort. We walked there both nights and enjoyed some of the nightlife. New Year's Eve was just as wonderful. After spending the morning in Beaufort, we took the short drive to Fort Macon and Atlantic Beach. That night, we could have gone out, but we decided that we wanted to enjoy Beaufort House. It was very hard to leave the next morning. I would highly recommend the house to anyone. It has all of the amenities, charm, class and comfort anyone could ask for. I hope to stay there again soon.

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday weekend at the cottage and had a wonderful time. The weather was cold and unusually windy, but the house was nice and comfortable. Guests included myself and my husband George who finally flew into New Bern Thanksgiving evening via Honolulu where he had to attend to unplanned army business. My friend Judy Bush from Los Banos Calif joined us as her son Jon Campanella married Tara Schrimm (from Newport) at the Bogue Banks County Club. Jon is in the Navy and currently stationed in Norfolk VA. The rehearsal dinner was at Amos Mosquitos-great time and food. My sister Lora Foster and her husband David joined us from White Stone SC Since it was Judy's first trip to the south, we deep fried a turkey on Thanksgiving and made all the traditional southern trimmings. We enjoyed catching up with family and friends, eating and drinking. We had lunch at the Sanitary Restaurant, Beaufort Grocery and Finz and dinner at Clawson's. All very good. We also celebrated George's 50th birthday (surprise)on Saturday night after the wedding. All hated to return to the real world on Sunday.
