A wonderful place to stay

Guest: Wendy (Boyds, Maryland)
Date of Stay: 08/29/11 Review Submitted: 09/11/11

We stayed at the beautiful Columbia Falls home for 5 1/2 days and wanted to stay MUCH longer. The owners are warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. The house was beautifully clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything one could possibly need. The towels and linens fresh and clean. The yard is beautiful with flowers, birds and wildlife and our dogs loved the "doggie yard". Needless to say, the hot tub was well used everyday. It's very close to the west entrance to Glacier Nat'l Park, to Whitefish, Kalispell, and about 45 min. to Flathead Lake. We had a glorious time and hope to return soon.

Great place to stay!!

Our family has stayed at this house multiple times. Dave and Brenda are the most accommodating, friendliest people around. This is a great property to stay at with pets, and a fantastic place to relax. Numerous nights have been spent playing cards outside, having fires in the pit, drinking wine. Days are spent at the lake or on the property relaxing with a good book, listening to nature, and watching the deer and other animals walk on by. The house is SPOTLESS every single time we come. We have spent years renting this property from Dave and Brenda and have never encountered a single problem. The homemade cinnamon buns and pies are always appreciated. If you want a fabulous vacation in a clean, well stocked and maintained home with gorgeous landscaping, with the friendliest hosts around, please stay here.

Hi Dave and Brenda, We wanted to drop you a note letting you know what a pleasure it was for our family to stay at your home. You have a beautiful and extremely comfortable home and it was a great place to unwind with our kids. The kitchen was well-equipped and the hot tub was awesome! Unfortunately the week just flew by but we loved every minute of it. We would love to enjoy the winter experience soon hopefully. Thank you so much. Jacques and Mari

We just returned from a family vacation--us and our kids and grandkids and what a beautiful home and very helpful guests. We appreciated having a place we could eat and not have to take little ones out and the back yard and patio were so helpful for doing things with kids and adults alike. the house was so clean even the garage was spotless. The flowers and landscape was wonderful. It is a great way to see the sites and area. Our hosts treated us like special guests. thank you Dave and Brenda Terry and Linda Johnson

Rawls Montana wedding

Guest: Vermonters in Montana (Dorset, Vermont)
Date of Stay: 08/23/10 Review Submitted: 09/07/11

We came to Montana for our sons wedding and this property fit our every need. We had several nights entertaining and the kitchen and backyard worked perfectly. Brenda and Dave could not have been more gracious in offering anything we may have needed, including their patio table and chairs for one of our evenings. The location was perfect for our various trips to the grocery store, liquor store, salons etc and convient to Whitefish and site seeing. All of our out of town guests took advantage of Glacier National Park which was very easy to access. The property was very clean and every convience you could ever need. We would recommend this property very highly. The one thing you need to remember is the trains do go through Columbia Falls all day and night. I was aware of them, my husband was not...........:-)

A Fantastic Getaway

A fantastic getaway Guest: Bill (Olympia, WA) Date of Stay: May 29, 2010 Review Submitted: June 20, 2010 The four of us had a great time when we spent a week in this beautiful home in the woods in June of 2010. My wife Val and myself and our good friends Bob & Chris have rented many placing on VRBO from Hawaii to Florida and Canada to Costa Rica and we would highly recommend this house. It was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. We spent our days sightseeing thru Glacier Nat'l Park, down to Big Fork, up to Polebridge and over to Whitefish. We spent our evenings sitting on the patio (on comfortable outdoor furniture), bar-b-queing delicious meals, battling in fierce ping pong matches (that had us rolling on the floor in laughter) and soothing our aching ping pong strained muscles in the awesome hot tub. Dave and Brenda were amazing hosts and very helpful in pointing us to many interesting locations. We would definately stay here again and may do so in the fall.

YOU FEEL THE ANTICIPATION MILES AWAY

Guest: Royce & Deborah (Key West, Florida)
Date of Stay: 06/01/10 Review Submitted: 06/04/10

On the road to Tamarack Tranquility (TT), the landscape will remind you of a spectacular painting. The Flathead Valley is ringed by monumental mountains – Gateway to Glacier Park. The 360-degree views will astound. You may even find yourself spontaneously saying out loud, "Wow!" The vast sky becomes lighter and excitement grows as you turn onto Tamarack Lane.Thickets of tall trees line the road like patient sentinels from the last century. If you’re lucky, you might see deer and elk grazing in ancient pastures. Once you discover the almost-hidden turn-off, you begin to wonder if you're at the right place. Then, you see an old pioneer wagon. It begins to feel like you’ve traveled back in time. You recognize the charming house and gated-arch from photos. When you spy the Bunk House, you put it on your list as a ‘must-have’ for your own home. You've booked-in to a place that exceeds your expectation. You can only hope the inside is as nice as the beautiful landscape surrounding it. I have had the good fortune of staying at TT during all seasons. My last stay was in January 2010. When I opened the door, the fireplace was aflame, the warm air was comforting and the impeccable cleanliness delighted. The gentle aroma of pine, lavender and lemon oil reminded me of my beautiful mother's cherished home. TT's large kitchen is equipped with every imaginable convenience. Even the most discerning of chefs will be impressed. The furniture is lovely and comfortable. You feel as though you're a cherished and pampered guest in a friend’s home. There is nothing here that smacks of ‘rental.’ And is it true? Have the sheets in the master bedroom actually been ironed? I believe they have! Towels are large and fluffy. The master suite is a dream. The snow fell silently during my first night. I woke-up in a fairy-forest wonderland. No one was about. The sense of freedom brought back the best sort of memories. I opened the door to the covered porch. Running barefoot and naked through the snow, in below-zero temps – well, it’s an experience I highly recommend; as long as it’s only a few steps to the fabulous hot tub! TT is a perfect retreat for writers and artists. Open your senses and breathe-in the magic. If you allow yourself to ‘let-go’, there is no denying the sense of freedom, escape, beauty and magnificence of Montana wilderness. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Brenda and Dave for sharing their Paradise with the rest of us!

Guest: John and Judy Rousseau Date of Stay: August 20, 2007 Review Submitted: August 20, 2007 Our week has flown by as it always does when we're together in a Fabulous place! We have all been humbled and awed by the incredible landscapes in this part of the country and would love to continue to explore what mother nature has left for us. Everyday has been something different but equally as spectacular as the day before. From the Long rumbling road to Kintla Lake, to the relaxing boat ride on Swift Current, to the 9 mile hike to Snyder Lake that almost did us in, to our drive through Bear Adventure, nothing disappointed... especially your wonderful home! It would be impossible to express our gratitude for you allowing us into your beautiful house. Everything was perfect from the beautiful grounds to the cozy inviting interior. Now we leave, we do so with heavy hearts but lots of memories to hold close forever. Thank you again for everthing. We all had a wonderful time taking in God's beautiful creation here in Montana from your beautiful home. What a treat to have all the comforts of home and them some, while we bop around for the week to the park and to Whitefish. It was a great home base for us and now I can't imagine doing it any other way! Your home was Tranquil indeed, but was also filled with games, laughter and many memories that will last a longtime! Our families personal favorites were the patio view of the garden and woods including the spa!...and the fact the house was very well stocked (kitchen, books, games, towels). Tamarack Tranquility far exceeded our expectations! Your home is so gorgeous and comfortable and homey! We appreciated the peaceful dining outdoors, the roomy and well - stocked kitchen, cozy bedrooms and the close proximity to the Park. Thank you for a fabulous week.
