Why the Owner Chose Maui Kamaole
Maui Kamaole is indisputably the most beautiful property in South Kihei with wonderfully kept sweeping lawns, surrounded by lovely tropical setting (close to 100 species of flora and fauna). It is low density, low rise, and uncrowded; a third of the property is lived in year-long by owners, a third lived in partially by owners, and only a third of it is rented out exclusively year long, everyone is dedicated to keeping up the quality of the complex.. It is also close to the boat ramp, within walking distance to some of the best beaches in South Maui for swimming, snorkeling, as well as restaurants and shops and also great walks and jogging and world class golfing to the immediate south. It is where we love to live …
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
We love the beautiful renovations that were done exclusively for owner use and therefore very rare in the rental market. We love the serene ocean view from the lanai, whether for peaceful meals, or a dazzling sunset over the ocean with a glass of wine in hand, or quiet moments with whales frolicking in the distance. We love the larger floor plan with brighter interior and all the wonderful, luxurious, extra space. We love the convenience to beaches, shopping, boat excursions, walking, jogging, golfing, restaurants as well as tennis, swimming, Jacuzzi, bbq grills within the beautifully landscaped complex. And last but not least, we love our guests (30% returning guests each year) who notify us of things that need attention so we can fix it right away and often help us pick up needed items for the condo (always reimbursed immediately on their credit cards) so they and those who follow can enjoy them, and who are always incredibly kind and gentle with this beautiful unit –making an incredible difference in keeping up the quality of A112.
Fun shopping, and restaurants - local, Chinese, home-cooking Thai, Korean, Mexican, sushi, gourmet and don't forget fresh fish tacos, organic groceries, internet cafe, and not to miss: after-dinner ice
A nice walk to Keawakapu, another beach many of our guests have enjoyed and have recommended
Many guests take walks or jogs early morning - fresh air, singing birds, beautifully landscaped path. One of our guests wrote: we discovered the "healthiest cocktails on the island": we enjoy our beac
Boat ramp right across the street, for fun excursions including snorkeling at Molokini
Right across the street; there's a cooler on wheels you can drag with you to bring along a lovely picnic, complete with cool drinks and dessert for your day of Fun, Sun, and Relaxation......
Catch the latest movie after dinner at one of many selections: Thai, Fish and Chips, American, Pizza and more; hair cut, massage, and shopping too
Owner's Map of Maui Kamaole
John has been doing scientific research at the Air Force station on top of Haleakala for a couple of decades. We first brought our daughter Kiki to Maui when she was just toddling around happily on wobbly legs at 11 months. In 2004, on another unforgettable trip to Maui where we were sad to leave, John and I looked at each other and both wished we’d bought a home in Maui 20 years ago, but we impulsively decided it was not too late. Although we’ve traveled all over, we still find the beauty and magic of Maui unparalleled. Maui is both adventure and sanctuary, exotic yet relaxing, exciting yet peaceful, magical and enduring. A112 is very special and we want all our guests to share it with us and be our attentive partners in keeping A112 beautiful and a gift for all who stay here.

(emailed during visit; returning guests) Good morning! Just a quick note to let you know we arrived safe and sound...it is great to be back. The dining room table and chairs are simply beautiful... well worth the wait. Can I confirm the phone number here...the little label on the phone is worn... It is good to be in our home away from home. Aloha,

(emailed after visit; returning guests) We made it back to South Carolina - and we are still jet-lagged out. But we had a great time. We thank you for all you did for us. By the way, we went to Sansei (sp?) for a special early dinner. This may sound like an odd choice, but we never went to that type place before (sushi/seafood thing). But we really enjoyed it! We did all the towels (placed them back as they were), sheets - folded and back in the closet, and cleaned up the kitchen, put away (cleaned) all dishes, windexed the dining table and a couple of mirrors etc... All the stuff you would expect your guests to do. I also replaced a bulb in one of the hanging kitchen lights (was out when we arrived). Also, we left a good size styrofoam cooler in the closet. And 6 brand new, unopened bottles of water in the fridge for the next guests. It really isn't that much but we had to do at least all we could to say thanks - especially the staying late part. That made a HUGE difference! You were so right about that. Anyway, thanks again for everything. As soon as I finish this note, we are driving back to Charlotte to help our daughter with the grandkids again.. After that, I hope to spend a few days at home. Doing nothing. Except cutting the grass. Mahalo!

(emailed during visit; returning guest) Our first week has just flown by. Everything is going smoothly and we are enjoying all of the new comforts you and John have added. The new sheets and towels are a pleasure to use and although I must be the only guest using an iron I really do appreciate the new one. Thank you for leaving the full salt grinder and pepper mill. I even found some vodka and rum in my box. Thank you. It has been put good use. Love the additional storage bar in the shower and the plantings you have added on the left of the lanai. The new lanai furniture is very easy to clean and the chairs are especially comfortable. Ralph is enjoying watching the pro football this afternoon so I have a moment to catch up with my email. We are playing bridge at the Maui Bridge Center four times a week so I have reconnected with many old friends. Not enough energy left over to have people over for dinner, however. Feeding Ralph takes up enough time and I love walking the beach. Much aloha, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Please accept my sincere apologies for phoning you so late in the evening and for such an unimportant issue. We were certain that the Maui cable company had decided to distribute a few converters on this side of the Pacific. You were both so calm and gracious at that late hour that we found ourselves quite embarrassed for having bothered you and possibly awakening someone. The tv's here are all in good working order, the sun is shining and the trades are gently blowing. Wish you could be here too. Aloha to you and Kiki.

(emailed after visit) I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for the week at your lovely condo. All was just fine. All is in good working order. The bug spray man came yesterday. There weren't any bugs but it was the routine spraying. I've recommended your unit to a friend in Vancouver; she's interested in some time in the spring. New lanai furniture is very comfortable and new 600 thread count sheets were lovely. Now it is back to the miserable snow and cold that we are having in the Pacific Northwest; it is most unusual to have it cold and snowy this long in Vancouver - we'll miss the sun and warmth, snorkeling, etc etc. Aloha and happy holidays,

(comments from guest book; returning guests) Thank you for sharing your A112 home with us once again. We had a fantastic week here enjoying the pool, beaches, & local restaurants. We also played golf & saw the sunrise at the summit of Haleakala, and went on a day trip to Lanai where we snorkeled & enjoyed the beach there as well. We loved returning to A112 each day, relaxing by the pool and visiting with other guests. You have a beautiful home here in A112, and again we thank your for letting us stay this past week. It is like home away from home with a much better view & a more relaxing atmosphere. We hope to be able to return in the future. When we do, we sure hope we can return to A112. Thanks so much …

(comments from guest book) It has been a fantastic 9 days in Maui, and we thank you for the use of you “little bit of paradise.” Michele and I had a great time on our 10the anniversary trip. We made it to the upcountry to purchase some local art, up to the volcano crater, and of course, lots of time on the local beaches. We really had a relaxing time by the pools here as well. Your home away from home is a great place for travelers to set their daily routines from, and has everything you could need. Thanks again!!

(comments from guest book; returning guests; books our two bedroom condo J205 for family visits) We have come to the end of another wonderful stay! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Samantha & I share some wonderful memories of our trip. Maui is a “healing” place - . We head back to Chicago with a lighter heart. School starts soon so we will hit the ground running. Maui is such a wonderful escape for a mother/daughter vacation. Thanks again,

(emailed after visit) Well, I’m finally getting around to sending you our comments on the condo! Sorry, it’s taken so long. All in all, we loved the place! The location was perfect for us, and the views from the lanai were very relaxing. We liked being close to the beach, and close to the trail that heads south to Wailea. We were able to walk down to a couple of really nice beachfront dinners! Hands down, you have the best equipped kitchen of any condo we’re stayed in. In fact, next time we look for cookware, I’m going to try to find the Kirkland set you have. The beach equipment was a nice touch. The furniture was nice. And, it was all in good condition. That’s somewhat rare in Hawaii, unfortunately. We will return at some point. You asked me to give you some information on the place we staying on Kauai. It was a very mixed bag. The location was wonderful (Princeville). The views were great. The maintenance of the unit left a lot to be desired. We stayed at the Cliffs at Princeville. I think most of the complex is timeshare, with a few owner-rented units (we were in an owner-rented unit). That complex needs to spend some money on exterior work. And, the interior furnishings were more the standard condo faire. I’m probably going to look at other complexes in Princeville next time we go. Last, you asked to see my photos. Between dealing with about 2,500 images between the two of us and several software issues, I finally have everything uploaded. If you have any problems, let me know. The software is fairly sophisticated, but also a little flaky at times. But, it’s free. I have not had the time yet to Photoshop the pictures that need it, so some of them don’t look as good as I’d like. But, if there are any of them you want to use (and it won’t hurt my feelings if there aren’t), let me know and I can send you a file that’s more appropriate for a web page.

Hi. Got back to Chicago 5 AM yesterday, half an hour ahead of schedule! When I left the condo there were some canned goods and two bottles of wine that the cleaning crew can consume if they wish. I tried to leave my home for 9 nice days as clean as when I got there. The accommodations could not have been any nicer! And thanks for your directions, the trip couldn't have been any smoother if you don't count that pesky undertow at Little beach that sucked my car keys into the deep! Dang! Maybe we'll do business again some time. Bye for now.

(emailed after visit; returning guests) It seems like just yesterday that we were in A112, and meeting you...and yet almost 2 weeks have gone by since we have been home. It was very nice to finally meet the three of you, and to spend some time together. We had a very relaxing time in A112, and as the time went by, became very lazy, but it did us good.. We are looking forward to our return in November. Oh, yes, Gerry read John's book, pretty much nonstop, and very much enjoyed it. We put a plug in for it (citing the Condo' copy that you left in the Unit) in the Guest Book, so I expect your other visitors will be interested in reading it as well. Good luck with your future trips, and with the London posting, if it comes to pass. Hoping we can meet up again some day.
