The home on East Ash was very comfortable, clean, handy to many of Coeur d' Alene's amenities and enjoyed by guests of all ages. The kitchen was very well equipped and the convenience of wifi and printer were a treat. The movies and quality of tv and sound were great for grand kids. We had eleven in the house and all had room for privacy and comfort and socializing.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is a beautiful place with beautiful things. The owners were wonderful to us and so was Jim the property manager. The pictures you see are just as the place is. Warm, inviting and oh-so comfortable. We stayed in the home with 5 sisters and 4 brother-in-laws and 2 Aunts from Scotland for my mothers funeral. It accommodated us very well. It is only a two minute walk to the beach area. Very, very nice upper-scale community. Although we were there for a sad reason, the home actually brought us comfort. WE looked forward to going to sleep at night as the beds were very comfortable and the bedding luxurious.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Eleven of us--grandparents, their kids, and their young kids--returned to the house for a week's vacation this summer. We like it. It is a short walk from a public beach on Coeur d'Alene Lake and another short walk from the trees and trails of a park on the lake. The setting and houses of the neighborhood make it good for walks. The house is clean and well taken care. You can lay low downstairs in the family room with its couch, LCD TV, and fireplace, or you can choose a spot on the main level where the kitchen, dining room, living room, and TV room are. The main level is large enough to offer pockets of personal space if you want it. The screened porch next to the kitchen is my favorite room on the main level. We ate most of our meals there. Even when the weather was not sunny enough for beach or lake, I liked being in the house. The owners have made it a nice getaway.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Our 3rd year and we want to return again for the 4th year. It was like coming home. If you check out other places in Coeur d'Alene you will find this is the best place in town to stay. The location is great close to hiking trails. When you look at the pictures and think they are great wait until you walk in the door. The screened in deck is such a nice place to hang out. It feels like home. Thank you for the great stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The weather, which was perfect, paled in comparison to the fun filled and relaxing time we had at Ash house for our long weekend. CDA has a lot to offer and Ash house is one of them. The home welcomed us, provided all the daily routine niceties, comfortable beds, a great screened in porch and a lovely neighborhood. Jim, the property manager, was very thorough in getting us aquatinted with the details of the home to ensure we got the most comfort during our stay. Phil also touched bases with us to ensure we were comfortable. Very nice gestures from both of them.Perfect home, perfect city, perfect weather, perfect company. I’d love to come back and I highly recommend Ash house.Marlene, One of the nine sistersSnohomish, WADid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I cannot say enough about this wonderful house. It made our Christmas stay so special. Everything we needed was provided. This is a warm, inviting home, with the most comfortable beds ever! In addition to all the other good things said by others about this house, I would like to add a couple of things: - The whole place is kept very clean indeed, with no dirty corners and no odd smells. Made us feel at home right away. - We experienced some wi-fi internet slow-downs, difficult to deal with because they were intermittent. The property manager (Jim) stayed on them despite the fact that when he first came over the service was working fine, and he did get the problem solved. In this and in every other way the support we got from Jim was first-rate. We had a great time in Coeur d'Alene, and may well come back to this house again.Did you find this review helpful? Thank you so much for an enjoyable week for my family. I grew up in CDA and loved inviting my daughters and their families back to reprise many wonderful memories of their childhoods on the lake at my parent's home out past Silver Beach. Altho they are gone now, we enjoyed introducing the next generation to the pleasures of CDA. Kayaking, hiking, swimming, biking, cooking together, and exploring the area made for a great time. Your home itself offered every ammenity, and we felt like we were in our own home. The sun porch was the greatest...even the kitty that came to visit became a special treat for the grandies! Again, our thanks. Sheri MarDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Wow! BDT (Boys on Tour) could not have found a better location and home to visit for five days. The Ash home is the perfect location for everything – lake, hikes, golf, shopping, etc. Our favorite place is on the screened-in porch. We began each day and ended each day there. Too bad our stay in Couer d'Alene came to an end. Ten of us stayed at the house for our big family summer vacation, and the place certainly had something to do with our week in Cd'A being a good one. It was in nice condition, came nicely furnished, gave us plenty of space, had a kitchen stocked with gear and even some food, and included many niceties such as large TVs, Internet access, and Legos. I especially liked the porch off the kitchen, a good place to eat meals or relax. Besides being an appealing setting, the neighborhood was good for walks, whether to the lake, to downtown, or in other directions. Thanks to the owners for having us.Did you find this review helpful? Our family had a wonderful time in CDA and really enjoyed the view from the house and its closeness to the beach. And the house was very comfortable for our family reunion--6 adults and 4 children. We appreciate all the special touches you provided to make our stay--kitchen was very complete, beach towels and chairs, toy box for small children and the list goes on. Thanks again. We do hope to return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Simply stated, the house was perfect. My friend and I were competing in Ironman Coeur d'Alene and we needed a place that was spacious enough to hold both of our families (10 of us in all). The Ash house was fantastic, Jim Linden, our concierge, was a tremendous help, and Phil McCormick, the owner, was a great host. The resort was an easy bike ride from the home and the run & bike courses were an easy walk. I should also mention that Roger's Ice Cream shop was a fairly easy walk too, and this came in very handy after the race was over!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The beds and linens were wonderful and the kitchen very well stocked. Some of us were even able to enjoy the screened in porch even though it was February. We stayed in the Ash house for a girl's getaway, 6 adult women. We selected the house from listings on the internet and were not disappointed. The house is in a great location. There is plenty of seating in the kitchen, dining room and living room/library for sitting and chatting but there is also enough space to find a quiet place to read. We were impressed by how well stocked the house was, every time someone mentioned that we should pick up this or that while we were in town, another person would say it was already in the house.Did you find this review helpful? The screen porch is a great side bonus for enjoying an outdoor dinner or an early morning coffee in the fresh air. Every year my family plans a bike trip. This was our first trip as a group to CdA. The area offers so many opportunities to do such a variety of things. As a group of 8 we managed to fit in biking, walking, motorcycling, golfing, boating and also spent a few hours at an amusement park. Because of the location of the house, all of these activities were easily accessible. The house is also very close to the beach, groceries and the downtown area. We all loved the house and all of its amentities as well. We managed to cook 6 dinners for 8 people and found the kitchen had all of the supplies we needed. The house felt like we were staying with family. Jim had even left us some fruit, snacks and a beautiful arrangement of a dozen yellow roses. The area immediately around the house is so picturesque and inviting that we thoroughly enjoyed our walks here. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who is coming to the CdA area. All you really need to bring is your suitcase and walking shoes. - From Guestbook -Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We were part of a group of ten from the Midwest that rented the house in July for a little R&R. Everything that has already been written is very accurate! This spacious home is filled with everything imaginable including all the non-perishable items you may need. Just purchase food and you are set! We were delighted with the central location of the house which is about 1 mile from the downtown area with the marina, shops and restaurants. In addition, for those of us that brought our road bicycles, hundreds of miles of trails and great roads are readily accessible. While there were a few very minor incidents (gas leak and electrical disruptions related to the remodeling of another house nearby), these in no way affected our enjoyment. The issues were handled professionally and with our safety in mind. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We thank Philip the owner and Jim the property manager for making our stay a most pleasurable one.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We enjoyed every minute of our vacation at the Ash house! The house easily accommodated 3 adult couples and 6 children ranging in age from 9 months to 15 years old. The kids were easily entertained downstairs with the game box, and the upstairs was nice and quiet for the adults. We enjoyed the nearby beaches, Tubbs Hill, and the easy walk to the shops downtown. The best part of our family reunion were the evenings on the sun porch, where the entire family ate, played games, and just visited. We would love to make this an annual vacation spot!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Last fall we stayed in the 8th St. cottage and loved it. We figured we couldn't go wrong staying in another property owned by the McCormick's. We were SO right! It really doesn't get any better than this. Jan and Phil--you guys have done a "bang-up" job of preparing your wonderful home for your guests. Rarely does one feel so relaxed in another's home, but we certainly did at yours. The furnishings were gorgeous and comfortable, and the beds were incredible. The kitchen was so well stocked that we rarely ate out. And we can't forget Jim--he was there every morning to blow the snow off the driveway, although honestly we would not have regretted being housebound. Thanks for everything, and we hope to return some day.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/4

We want to thank you so much for your beautiful home, and your attention to detail, and comfort. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere very warm. The couches and beds were great! We could tell that you spared no expense. We stayed there with 2 of our children and their families. It was very spacious. It was a perfect home for us. The location, the decor, the hospitality and kindness of your manager and yourself were wonderful. There were many hikes on Tubs Hill, walks close to the house by the lake, and memory making family times. We are familiar with other homes in Couer d'Alene that family members stayed in and your home was the best. It really felt like we were in a real home, not a rental. We were there for our daughter's wedding at Hayden Lake. It was much better than staying at a hotel, and cost effective with our number. We highly recommend it for accomodation for occaisions such as ours. It added even more to our special event time in Idaho. Take Care, and we hope to return. 5 STARS! Hosting our family reunion at the ASH house made for wonderful memories. The teenagers chilled out in the basement playing Xbox360, the younger ones took turns at the chess table, while adults lounged in the comfort of the 2 living rooms and marvelous screened in porch. In fact, we enjoyed the screened porch so much that we've asked our architect to include one in the new home we're designing! If you're thinking about staying at the ASH house and would like to ask a previous guest any questions, by all means email me. Better yet, make your reservation. You will not be dissappointed. I was delightfully surprised at your home on Ash. The furnishings were lovely and the place had plenty of room for all us! It is rare to find a place that holds 4+ adult couples so well. The screened-in porch became our favorite spot to congregate for eating and relaxing. I hope to be back again next year! You have done a wonderful job with the home, it had everything we needed! We couldn't have asked for more.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/4

What a wonderful place to have a family reunion! The house has everything - great location, beautiful furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of sleeping accomodations and, especially, a large screened porch where we spent most of our time when we weren't traveling - you name it - it's available. We spent 6 delightful days on Ash Ave., just an easy walk to the beach or a quick drive to Sherman Ave. with its many restaurants and other attractions. We were pleased in every way as were our adult children and our grandchildren. It even passed the initial skepticism of two teen-aged boys. We would come back again without question.
