Just 1 hour north of Atlanta, Big Canoe is Georgia's premier gated mountain community. Within this beautiful resort you will find a 27 hole golf course, eight outdoor tennis courts, two outdoor swimming pools, three lakes for fishing and boating, 20 miles of hiking trails, biking trails, and a beautiful beach at Lake Disharoon. Also, for your convenience, Big Canoe has its own general store, post office, and Chapel. For those of you with children looking for a little free time, there is also a day camp during the summer months. The 16,000 square foot. fitness center is open year round and offers indoor tennis, racquetball, top of the line fitness equipment, and personal weight training.

You do not have to leave the gates of Big Canoe to keep yourself busy, but if you are looking for a day out, here are a few suggestions: touring the gold mines in Dahlonega, hiking the falls in Amicalola State Park, finding the perfect pumpkin at Burt's Pumpkin Patch, shopping at the North Georgia Premium Outlets, white water rafting in Helen, or riding the rails of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.

This house is located within minutes of the North Gate and Wildcat Recreation area, where you will find an outdoor pool, basketball courts, a baseball field, a soccer field, and miles of hiking and/or biking trails. Convenience says it all!!

This is a 6 bedroom/6 bath home with large open living areas. The main level consists of the master bedroom (king), a bedroom with double bed, large kitchen, family room, dining room, and laundry room. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with a queen bed, 2 full baths. The lower level has two more bedrooms(king and double), a game room, and an additional family room. For the little ones, there is also a room with an inflatable jumping castle.

The back deck offers spectacular mountain views. Two swings on the front porch are a perfect gathering place for family and friends.

This spacious home is perfect for a large family reunion, a business retreat, or a get together with friends. This is a smoke - free house!

  • We live in Big Canoe and needed substantial additional sleeping space for a big family birthday gathering, and this house filled our needs wonderfully well. Not only is it quite roomy, but it is very well laid out for multiple family use. The house is well equipped, and things work as they are supposed to. Photos on this site are quite accurate. The long views are terrific, but, equally importantly, the house is very well situated for newcomers to Big Canoe. It is very accessible to the new Wildcat pool and play fields, a couple of minutes ride, as well as to the North Gate, should you wish to take day trips to the wonderful N. Georgia wineries, the Kangaroo Center near Dawsonville, or other sites in this area.

  • What a great house. We had our annual Kelly Family Vacation which was 16 people at one point. Lots of room for people to spread out and have private time when they wanted it. Made good use of the Big Canoe facilities including racquetball, golf, tennis and swimming. Ideal location only an hour away, what else could you ask for.
