After searching several options in Hershey Ruth's "Suitest Playce" jumped to the top of the list. And we are certainly glad we stayed at this humble abode. From our arrival to our departure it was a 5-star experience. Ruth was doing yard work and her rescue pups were hovering watching for friendly guests to arrive. They loves our sons (ages 15 & 9), and the 9 yr old spent time playing with all of them. Our rescue dog, Willo quickly became a "friend" of theirs and Ruth was our doggie-nanny while we visited Gettysburg (45 min) and Hershey Park (4 min). Her place is nicely appointed, clean & the beds are VERY comfortable. The kitchen has all you might need, there is a BBQ grill, laundry facilities, outside fierpit, lawn chairs, and a wonderful fenced in yard for our four-legged family members. The TVs all have cable and the kids liked that after a long day at the park. The rooms are spacious and the ceiling fans kept the rooms cool. The only down side of the trip --- we had to leave! But we will return!

My husband and our 2 1/2 year old daughter stayed here recently and enjoyed our stay. The master bedroom had a toddler bed set up with princess theme bedding and my daughter loved it. The owner is a very nice lady and showed us plenty of toys for our daughter to play with. We spent most of our time visiting with family, shopping, and seeing Chocolate World, so we weren't at the property long enough to enjoy the horses. You enter the guest house through the garage, and the owner lives upstairs. It met our needs and we slept comfortably. Before we left, the owner gave our daughter some Easter eggs and coloring items in a basket, which was a thoughtful thing to do.

My husband, six year old son and our two Weimaraners enjoyed a nice week long stay at Ruth's. The accomodations were fantastic and just what we were looking for. The park is a two minute drive and there were plenty of other exciting things to do nearby. We also enjoyed some downtime at Ruth's and our dogs just adored Ruth and her dogs. Ruth was so kind to us and made us feel right at home and even cooked us dinner one night. Such a treat! We will certainly stay at the "Suitest Playce" again in the future. Thanks for such a great time!

This is our 2nd visit to Hershey and our 2nd visit to Ms. Ruth's Suitest Playce! It's a hop, skip, & a jump to Hershey Park and for us (with 3 little ones) it's paradise. She has toys for the kiddos to play with, a comfortable home in which to relax, and this time around we found 2 playgrounds within easy walking distance of the home. We also explored more of PA Dutch country and spent a day in Strausburg at the rail station - - the kids were in heaven and it was an easy drive there and back to our home-away-from-home. The area is safe, fun, and Ms. Ruth has become not just an owner, but a friend to our family. We are looking forward to another visit in the near future!

Ruth's "Suitest Playce" lived up to all promises - it is extremely clean and warmly decorated, and we had all the space we needed. My husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs had a comfortable, relaxing weekend close to Hersey Park. Ruth was so nice to help with our dogs while we were in the park and made us feel very welcome. The boys absolutely loved the house, the rescue dogs and the horses (and Ruth too!). We hope to visit again in the future and consider Ruth a new family friend. Thanks for the enjoyable weekend!

My family stayed the weekend at the guest house with 2 grandkids and 2 dogs and 6 adults. Everyone had a great time especially the dogs and kids. After a long day at Hershey Park with 2 little ones, they got to burn off the rest of their energy in the backyard. The owners dogs are very friendly and gentle with the kids. The hospitality was wonderful and recommend this as an alternative if you want to stay somewhere else but a hotel room. We are all looking forward to our next visit!

We have family in the area, but have been unable to stay with them due to accessibility issues for my husband's power wheelchair. Trying to find somewhere to stay that is accessible for him AND also pet-friendly, is a rare find. This guest suite was perfect for us - very accessible. The owner was extremely accommodating, allowing us the flexibility to make ourselves comfortable there. Our dog, Katie, thoroughly enjoyed the large fenced-in yard and the "friends" she had to play with. This was the first vacation we've taken that we didn't have to worry about cutting visits short to get back to take care of Katie. The owner made sure she was taken care of, so we had plenty of time for visits, dinners, etc. We have found ourselves a spot we will return to for our hometown visits!

My girlfriend and I came up to Hershey for a visit just after Christmas. This location was nice and spacious and within minutes of everywhere we wanted to go. It also had a nice gas fireplace which was toasty! Also, we were able to bring our small dogs, and they enjoyed the fenced in back yard.. Nice rental. :-)

We are very happy to report that Ruth & her grandson, Brendan, rolled out the ol' welcome wagon for us as well... freshly baked warm cookies-n-all ~ they even turned on the gas fireplace in the living room -- honestly, in terms of gas fireplaces, this gas fireplace has the nicest logs & flames we've ever seen (not a little lazy blue glow, but, rather tall vibrant dancing leaping yellow & orange flames) this fireplace warms everyone and everything. The fireplace is the focal point feature in Ruth's nicely decorated 2 bedroom, 1 bath, with living room, kitchen galley & dining area. Ruth's was the perfect pit stop for our small family while traveling up & down East Coast. We really enjoyed a quick visit at Hershey Park too. In fact, Ruth's grandson works at Hershey Park and was very helpful with logistics.

We stayed here for our anniversary. The place was everything promised. However, please note that the place is a basement apartment, not an actual guest house. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant and the location was great.

Ruth's "Suitest Playce" is exactly as she describes in her ad, we stayed from August 7th through the 9th. We did a quick (2 Day Trip) to Hershey Park from Massachusetts. Though we did not spend a lot of time there (we basically slept) I would love to travel back and spend some more time in that lovely area and relax. A trip to Hershey with 4 children is not a relaxing vacation, but Ruth's home was a welcome respite at the end of each long day. We arrived earlier than anticipated on Saturday and wanted to get to the park, Ruth was very accommodating letting us in and allowing us to leave our things and organize a day bag for Hershey. Ruth has a lovely guest house and came across as a wonderful person.

MY FAMILY AND I STAYED AT RUTH'S GUEST HOUSE FOR 3 DAYS AND NIGHTS. WE HAD A GREAT TIME VISITING WITH RUTH. WE WENT TO HERSHEY AMUSEMENT PARK AND WHEN WE ARRIVED BACK AT THE GUEST HOUSE RUTH HAD A PLATE OF HOME MADE COOKIES SITTING ON THE DINING ROOM TABLE. THEY WERE DELICIOUS. THEN THAT EVENING SHE MADE A VERY DELICIOUS MEAL OF BAKED CHICKEN, CORN ON THE COB, COLE SLAW, AND INDIAN BEANS AND RICE. SHE BROUGHT THE FOOD TO OUR GUEST HOUSE AND ATE WITH US. WE ENJOYED THE TIME WE GOT TO VISIT AND TALK TO RUTH. THE WHOLE DINNER WAS VERY DELICIOUS, BUT MY FAVORITE WAS THE INDIAN BEANS AND RICE. IF WE EVER GO BACK TO PENNSYLVANIA WE WILL STAY IN HER GUEST HOUSE AGAIN. SHE IS A VERY NICE AND CARING LADY. RUTH ALSO TOOK US TO THE BARN WHERE SHE KEEPS HER HORSE AND MY DAUGHTER AND HER FRIEND GOT TO GROOM RUTH'S HORSE. THEY HAD A GREAT TIME DOING THAT. HER GUEST HOUSE IS JUST A 2 OR 3 MINUTE DRIVE TO HERSHEY AMUSEMENT PARK.

We came in town for a family wedding, and found ourselves feeling relaxed and comfortable right away! This fantasic rental has a private entrance, beautiful yard, friendly owner who is always available but never too close for comfort, toasty gas fireplace, and the beds are amazing! We are a family of 5 which includes 3 children (ages 5-12), and they loved it too. Ruth set us up with a grill, bonfire pit, and everything we needed for a relaxing evening: grilling and enjoying a glass of wine. It was simply perfect for a busy weekend, and our family members who came by to visit completely agreed. When you pull up to the cute little house you don't expect a lot, but when you open the garage door (with the remote control given to you as your key), it is so quaint and tastefully decorated with antiques and unique pieces throughout that it immediately feels comfortable and roomy. I have recommended this location to other family members and friends who stay in the area often, and get tired of the small rooms and high prices in hotels. This location has so much more to offer! A+ Rental, will stay again!

It is a home away from home! Ruth is a great host and very accommodating. She made sure everything was perfect for us especially our kids and our dog "Petey". While we were out to Hershey Park and Gettysburg, she took care of Petey for us. Loved the restaurant she recommended for dinner!! We will definitely return to Hershey soon!

We stayed in the Guest House August 10-11 while visiting Gettysburg, Hershey Park and the Strasburg Railroad. It was a wonderful location and Ruth was an amazing host. She helped look after our Yorkie puppy, Cooper, while our family spent 12+ hours at Hershey Park (on one of the hottest days of the summer) and she even called to update us on how he was doing. The accommodations are wonderful. We have three children and there was plenty for them to do. I would highly recommend The Guest House to those looking for accommodations in the Hershey area.

My family just returned from a 4 night stay at Ruth's place last week. And like everyone else who posted a comment, we were also very satisfied. Ruth was as accomodating and friendly as everyone else said. The apartment was literally 3 minutes from the park, and we took advantage of that by taking breaks from the park, the chocolate factory, etc; It's also no more than 45 minutes to Amish country. The dogs were very friendly, and it was great seeing and feeding the horses, and it was a thrilling surprise for my sons when Ruth's granddaughter (who was equally as kind and pleasant) offered to take them for a ride on Will, Ruth's horse. It was the kind of place that really made us feel at home. Thanks again Ruth!

Our family (Seven of us!) stayed with Ruth the first week of July '09. Ruth was very sweet and we had a lovely time. There was lots of room for our entire family and we enjoyed the surrounding sites such as Chocolate World, Amish country, and then Gettysburg. We would stay here again. Ruth is a lovely person. We accidentally left a cell phone behind, and she found it and mailed it to us. Our family would recommend staying here.

Our first family vacation was everything we hoped for... and MORE thanks to Ruth and her wonderful place! Since our little ones woke well before the park opened, it was a blessing to have all the toys to play with in the morning. Minutes to Hershey Park, we were able to enjoy a couple hours at the park, come back to the house for lunch and naptimes, and go back to the park in the afternoon for more fun! Ruth invited us to barbeque with her friends and family for an evening which was an unexpected bonus (we so appreciate it!) Her home is quaint, clean, and at a very reasonable price. We are looking forward to visiting again. Thanks so much for all you did for our family! :)

Easy, easy did I mention easy access to everything?! We enjoyed the quick less than 3 minute drive to Hershey Park, Chocolate World and the shopping Outlets!! Ruth had everything set up for the kids to enjoy their stay as well;) Toys galore! The dogs were absolutely adorable, very friendly and the most welcoming to our crew! Our family also enjoyed the trip to the stables to visit with her horses;) We loved every minute of our time spent at Ruth's place!!! She is awesome and not only did we have a wonderful place to stay while visiting, we made a great friend too!!! You Rock Ruth!!! Damon, Danielle, Sydney, Elyse, Ayden and Lauryn

No words to explain our time at Ruth's place. Only a couple of days wasn't enough but this lady is the greatest and the house is perfect . We need more time to spend overthere, hopefully really soon, to enjoy Ruth's company, the dogs and horses. Those dogs make my daughter the happiest girl in the world. We can say this place is even better than our visit to chocolate word and all around Hershey. I absolutely recomended to everybody at any age. Go for it!!!!!!! We spent a lovely ten days with Ruth and the pups, whom my daughter just feel in love with. We Arrived on the 22nd of July, and were greeted by Ruth, whom quickly set down with us for a nice long chat, Ruth gave us the tour, gave us directions to places we needed to get to, ..........and then she let us go. And go we did. For the next ten days it was non-stop, Hershey Park 4 times, Dorney Park, Amish Country, and my personal favorite, Gettysburgh. We came and went at our leisure, any time we wanted, always feeling safe, welcome, and comfortable. It was hard to leave, and we will never forget our time spent with Ruth, and the quaintness of The Village of Uninon Deposit. Litteraly two minutes from Hershey Park. We will be sure to stay with "Miss Ruth" as we still affectionately call her, again, when we bring the kids back to Hershey. It was wonderful, and so is Ruth. Sincerely, Tom, Cindy, Tyler, and Trinity Ford Sunapee, NH.

We stayed at Ruth's place for a long weekend and found her to be an AMAZING hostess. Her personal touch will never be forgotten (not only were we greeted as friends, but she also had a special "Winnie the Pooh" bed set up for our young daughter when we arrived). The apartment is conveniently located near Hershey's main entrance w/restaurants and shopping close by as well. The entire apartment was very clean and well decorated and the beds were oh so comfortable! Can't wait to visit again. Thank you so much, Ruth for a truly enjoyable stay...
